    you're doing great for someone that just started. Don't be hard on yourself. a few tips if you don't mind: 1: Don't give a shit what everyone else thinks. YOU are the captain of your ship. 2: for straight backing once you're decently lined up, the less correction on the steering wheel, the more the trailer will behave. Try very small adjustments. 3: never be afraid to ask for help. Stick to it my man, there's a bright future ahead for you!

    Good to see you back brother! Btw don’t turn the truck off every time you get out, since it’s a Diesel engine and not a gas engine it needs a couple minutes to cool down so just keep it running while your out checking the trailers etc. stay safe out there🤙

      Yes, Joe The Trucker is correct! Schneider drills it in our heads during Orientation that whenever we reach underneath our rigs or get behind it (i.e pulling the tandem release arm, pulling the 5th wheel locking release arm, getting behind out truck to check the trailer seal, etc) we need to shut it off. Essentially whenever we're not in our trucks, we're told to shut it off.
      I appreciate the insight though, Joe Lopez! When I get my own truck, I'll definitely be doing things how I want haha.

    This is what we need more on your videos, backing in truck stops, alleys, docs. Most of us are looking at that because that is what presents a bigger challenge for newbies and that is one of the main fears as far as taking the first step at being a truck operator. Still, keep up the good work, you seem much more confident in yourself and the content is interesting and entertaining.

    Also for backing always taking your time get out when your unsure and do as many pull ups as possible use the room you have to your advantage and when you have time on your clock at the end of the day take a hour to practice at truck stops get a come to put down when you pull out to set up so no one takes your spot. Let the company pay your fuel 👌🏾

    Tiki kudos man kudos to that O/O who got brains to at least observed the the situation and offered help . that is why I don't understand people who make fun of other drivers from different companies look to me I would of helped I think the other "super" truckers who are to proud to help you out or other new drivers out should get out of the business but to add my point here like you said we been there new driver like driving a car for the first time remember that I know thats not an 18 wheeler but to point that fact out to say that we were green while learning to drive 2 wheels (bicyle) , 3 wheeler( Trike) 4 wheeler well car , then the Semi . But Good luck Tiki just wanted to give you props for keeping your cool and clear headed with assistance Kudos

    @shawnlee2914 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Good to see you back. I'v been waiting for your new video. Actually I am considering to join Schneider right after I get CDL A. But One thing that I concern is that it doesn't seem enough to go on the road the trainer just for one week. as you know other companys do more than 3weeks. What do you think?

    • @TikiTheTrucker
      @TikiTheTrucker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's good to be back! So the great thing about Schneider is that after your 1 week out with your trainer, if you feel like you did not receive enough training, you have the right to let your driver leader know that you do not feel like you had enough training and you would like to go out for another week with a trainer.
      The girl that I was partnered up with for going out with my trainer actually went out with another trainer after we had completed our 1 week out on the road because she didn't feel like 1 week was enough training. Schneider will never force you to go out on your own if you don't feel like you're ready. I say give Schneider a shot and try the 1 week out with a trainer. If you need more time with a trainer, request more time and they'll give you more time.
      Best of luck Shawn, feel free to ask me anything else if you have any more questions!

    • @TikiTheTrucker

      That sign was from the third party mechanic shop lot that I picked it up from when I first got the truck. It's funny that you mention it because it's been irritating me! I was waiting til home time to take it off because when I first tried peeling it off, it left some bad residue behind. I had a goo-gone like remover at home so I figured I'd just wait til then.

Our training was 240 hours of driving which was about 6 weeks with one on one training and if you were not running the truck by the last week then you weren’t ready I can’t imagine 1 week… also don’t think I like Stevens I just know they’re known for training good

    I thought Schneider did not allow electronics to be on while driving. Other Schneider drivers have had to stop making videos because Schneider found out.

    • @TikiTheTrucker
      @TikiTheTrucker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've spoken with several Schneider instructors and Training Engineers and they all have given me the same answer: "I've never heard of that being an issue before." Phones can be on and used as GPS or music streaming device. You cannot hold a camera in your hands while driving.
      If Schneider has an issue with it, I'll stop if they ever contact me and tell me that I'm not allowed to record, mind you hands-free since it's mounted to my head. Also if they reach out to let me know how much of an issue it is, I have no problem packing up my belongings and going to a company that allows me to vlog my journey.
      In this industry, you've got to know your worth.
      You seem to be very passionate about the grey area about Schneider's electronic policy. I appreciate your concern bud!
