    These are all dudes, part of the fashion of visual kei.

    They currently have a full live concert posted on their TH-cam channel. Their sound holds up live and it’s fantastic.

    Jiluka - Bleghnom! Please continue reacting to their MVs like that 'BLVCK' and 'OVERKILL' song. By the way they have 'Kumari' Live on their channel.

    No disrespect to Crossfaith as I grew up listening to them but bands like Jiluka, Dexcore has taken the Japanese scene to a whole new level

    Great, fun reaction 🔥
    Sena, the guitarist is a guy as well. Visual Kei is their fashion style and very popular in today's japanese metal scene.

    • @shineek
      @shineek ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Partially wrong statement, its a popular as it was back in the 80's and none of the modern visual kei bands can actually reach the level of the trio of visual kei legends, Dir en Gray, X-Japan and Luna Sea.

    • @hungergamesspain
      @hungergamesspain ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shineek I said Visual Kei is being very popular in the japanese metal scene not Jiluka

    • @hungergamesspain
      @hungergamesspain ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Visual Kei is probably the most popular since the beginning if we talk about international fans since the globalisation is different and more advanced than in the 90's.

    • @shineek
      @shineek ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hungergamesspain International yes, but this does not really give them that many more sales, 99% of people who listen to Visual Kei outside of Japan do so via spotify or youtube or the less legal ways, purchasing is something else, VK albums are still mostly sold in Japan only and not anyone can afford a shipping cost higher than the price of the CD plus paying tax and customs. In Japan on the other hand there is no real change i would even say its a little less popular with many bands going for extreme metal which is considered a underground scene in japan unlike something like X-Japan which was considered Mainstream.

    asking if sena was a girl is so real help
    also about the glam rock side of it, theyre a part of a japanese subculture called visual kei, it focuses heavily on looks- ‘the art of visual shock’ :3
    it was made popular by older, mostly lesser heavy bands like malice mizer and dir en grey (degs older stuff was heavy but not on jilukas level) and yeah it spiralled from there, with new substyles coming from it !! jiluka are loud kei :3 and other bands fit into other categories (kote kei, iryou kei, nagoya kei ect)
    long ass + unnecessary comment but its so fun to talk about LMAO
    .. also i highly recommend any song by insanity injection- mainly b.r.n and re:incarnation cause they got me into the band (even though they only have one album)

    Jiluka is very good live. And you are very correct that the crowd is insane, but totally in the fun way 😂 Also “nu metal” began with Korn. They are said to of “pioneered the nu metal genre.”

    They have so many good tracks! I rec Overkill or BLVCK.

  • @pixierocks
    @pixierocks ปีที่แล้ว +8

    BLVCK, Overkill and Kumari would probably the next ones I’d recommend to check.
    They are going into a new direction with their newest releases calling it Electro Gothic Metal (EGM) and while I totally enjoy their older stuff the newer ones are really attention grabbing.
    Their live shows are pretty sick but the crows is not as brutal as one might expect because around 70-80% of their fan base are girls.

    • @sayuri5167
      @sayuri5167 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Doesn‘t mean that their live shows can‘t be brutal just because their audience is mostly female… in Japan there are certain things not allowed in concert locations or seen as rude. I think that‘s pretty more why they aren‘t that brutal.

    • @pixierocks
      @pixierocks ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sayuri5167 I agree with you that some locations have stricter rules than Europe (can’t speak about America) but it really depends on the audience if they follow it or not.
      As far as my experience goes Jiluka, while going wild, and being extremely fun has no hardcore pits or surfers unless they play an event (Madpit Festival or so) with bands like Sable Hills or Prompts etc and there is more of a genre mix and a mix of audience. However if they play oneman shows or the 対バン is more on the VK side I have maximum seen some push pits (but massive head banging)
      Take it as you want if the percentage of female audience has an influence on this or not but this is my experiences based on the 21 shows I have visited this year😁

    I think your reaction speaks for every person listening to Venom, ever. Great reaction!
    (As for pronunciation, it's Jeeh-ruh-kah - no stress or similar stress on all syllables. If you want to delve into where they come from, take a step back in time and listen to Gackt's Redemption - the video is so good, and also worth a reaction, in case you'd want to. It's a prime example of Visual Kei, and what some jokingly called Final Fantasy Metal - funnily enough, Gackt made songs for the games.)

    Japanese English gives Metal more creativity imo. They can get away with more than other bands. Take "Give me a reason", for example. Ricko says it like "Gyev me reason", almost like he's making "give" sound like a "blegh". But because he's Japanese, it still sounds natural. I shouldn't have to say this, but it is the internet after all: This comment isn't made to offend people
