Love the locking trays. All the things I love about the Daytripper with the usual Strada flair.

One thing I forgot to mention is that half of the mast can be used to paint works up to 13" tall.

so really, if you like to paint big and small, it could work for both?

I'm a pastel artist. I've been for 20 yrs and pochade boxes are the best, more storage, better for pastels, great boxes. We might get one of these for our art magazine to review but we will see. If we do u will see it in art in America magazine. But idk yet.

I use the STRADA Mark II Palette for watercolors, since I'm tall and the hooks can hug the tripod legs near the top. That way I don't have to stoop down too far when mixing colors. The Skip Lawrence Palette from Cheap Joe's also fits inside the palette holder perfectly.

Mast, palette and postage to Australia = $784 AUD
way beyond my budget unfortunately, as it's the best set up I've ever seen!

Can the palette "hooks" be adjusted in width to accommodate different tripod leg spreads? Also, how big of a tripod leg diameter will the hooks work on?

There are two slots that allow you to adjust for different tripod widths. It can hold a tripod leg diameter up to 1 1/4"

same as my design. but mine is made of wood. and the palette hooks are better designing and can hold many pigment bottles and brushes so it has more space to mix colors.

Hi, I presume the hooks are made out of aluminum? Not being as strong as steel, could they possibly end up bending with the weight of the pallet if a glass insert is used?

Hooks are made out of steel. The rest is made out of aluminum.

@@STRADAEasel Thanks for the reply, that makes sense and I suppose because the aluminum is painted its isolated from touching the steel? I Know that Aluminum corrodes when in contact with steel for a long time, I have an old aluminum box which has completely corroded where the steel clasp is fixed.

AnneThraks they have been anodized so it isn’t a problem.

I purchased the mast and the only option was for the canvas hooks and it's difficult to accomodate a thin panel, there is no customer service and/or clear return policy. The instructions are sparse.
