Great video. As always you thoroughly cover all aspects of the product. Nobody does this better than you do. Always inspiring and informative tutorials, I lean so much with each video watched. Thanks again for the presentation
@@watzmaaname I really like it. Only thing I had to do is get a trigger for my camera for my flashes. I've used it for now about a dozen weddings and really like it portrait shoots and just oddball stuff. It's really too big of a setup to take and do a city walk or street photography you kind of stand out with it.
No worries at all. I love it. As time goes by there will be improvements and probably cheaper. That having being said, I expect many happy years of use.
I just bought this monitor, can't seem to find the touch focus feature on it. Please does this monitor have a touch focus feature? If yes, how does it work?
It's a preview monitor so it does not. If you need to focus, you'll tap the selfie screen on the camera or pull focus manually. If you meant something else please let me know.
Thanks for the review. A few more questions that weren't covered. Does it have anamorphic desqueeze and if so, what are the options EG 1.66x, 1.5x etc.? Is the monitor calibratable using a probe? What is the start up time of the monitor before the camera's image appears? Thanks for your help.
Thank you for the great video. Really specific question: if you apple a LUT in the monitor, does it apply to the output? In other words, if I’m shooting LOG, applying a LUT to the footage on this monitor and outputting to a client/director monitor, will the LUT be applied for the client/director feed?
lol no man that would be miracles. You still need to color grade it. What you are talking about is only to help you expose correctly when it comes to color grading it will fall close or if not the same as you saw it when you were filming.
@ I get that. But the functionality I’m talking about is standard on smallhd and atomos devices. Probably not available at this price point. Thanks for the reply.
Is there a way to mirror the screen on my Sony a7iii with this field monitor? It's great to see the larger image but I'm not seeing all the data my camera screen shows.
Great video! Do you know if it will let you do custom guides or markers? The standard guides are no longer accurate if you turn on external hdmi info display from Sony, as it creates the dead space.
@@GeekyNerdyTechythat’s actually the point of the video I’m referencing. You show the manufacturers, but I’m wondering what’s beyond that. I.e., if you were to tap on one of those, in this case, Fuji, would it show that Flog 2 is available? Or on the bottom where it shows CanonLog3… if you swipe over, is there FujiLog2?
Is the cheapest monitor that has both HDMI and SDI connections and 1080p? Can this take 4k60p? or is 4k30p the max? I just need a good monitor with both HDMI and SDI ...or does Feelworld have a better one? thanks
Received mine and the battery provided seems defected, or the battery rails from the monitor aren’t doing a good connection, basically I’m unable to use the battery only with the monitor since it doesn’t always turn on when I click it into the monitor…
I'm having problems with my monitor. I have the dx3 version, everything works normally, the problem is that I can't turn it off. That's right! I have to remove the battery or the power supply to turn it off. It's the second viltrox monitor I buy that has problems
Hey brother the only video i am looking for viltrox dc -x3 screen amazing video just have a little confusion that i have fujifilm xh2s and its shoot in 10 bit 422 h.265 codec and also my camera goes upto 6k 30 fps does this screen support this settings? Just let me know please its help me alot to buy this screen or not thankyou
The output of the HDMI will most likely default back to 4K like my LUMIX one does. Check to see if your HDMI settings has an "Automatic" option or just set the output to 4k and you'll be good.
HDMI lag varies from camera to camera but it was right in line with basically all of the other monitors I have reviewed. Some cameras like the GH6/FX3 have really low latency, but I didn't notice any issues with it.
Buyer Beware: I purchase the X2 version (directly from them) and it came yesterday. Gave it a go and I guess I got a faulty one because this is a piece of crap: a) gets real hot real fast (under 5 minutes) b) Had the fan set to AUTO and is turns on fast, runs constantly, and IS quite noisy c) no instruction on how to load a VLT LUT for monitoring d) the touch scene goes wonky after a bit and doesn't work at all (have to pull the battery) Giant fail product.
Ah that sucks. It sounds like something is wrong. I ran mine for hours with no problems at all. See if you can return it. The fan noise is a non issue unless you've got it set to auto and it's in a really hot environment - where it ramps up.

i have the DC 550. My first field monitor. used it for a couple of weddings. Nice to have for old eyes and nice to have when shooting from my waist.
How long have you had the DC 550? How has your experience been?

Its a really handy monitor for that sort of stuff.

Try USB flashdisk

Battery life(np-f550) on full brightness?
How would you compare this to say something like the SDI 5" Atomos Shinobi?

I don't remember seeing anything like that in the menu system.
Great video, thank You so much. Best regards, Kai the bee filmer. 🙂
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching. :)
Is there any controls for camera settings? ISO/focus type/aperture and so on
No, this monitor don't have camera control.
Is F-Log 2 within the 3D lut setting for Fuji? The DC550 only supports standard F-Log. Will buy this if it has F-Log 2
I show them all on screen starting in the menu guide 6:39 onwards. You can load your own in there as well using the USB port but I haven't tried it.
