People blaming Caleb don't know how football works. The QB is getting the play calls from the coach, he has to wait for the play before he can rely that info to his team. In this case, the coach called for a hurry-up play (bad decision) instead of calling a timeout. Now Caleb has to tell the rest of the offense the play and wait for them to get set. By the time they got set, it's all-or-nothing because they don't have enough time left. This is 100% the coach's fault. "cALeB cOuLD'vE cALLed a tiMeOut" yeah, but guess who also could've called a timeout instead of relying on your rookie QB to do it? The coach.

What's forgotten in all this is the most horrendous pass interference call in the history of NFL, by the referee, on 4th and 17. Game was ALREADY over but referees gave a GIFT of another life to Chicago, which they foolishly rejected!!
He has some blame in this, but the buck ultimately stops with the coach. He failed to coach situational awareness. He failed to recognize his rookie QB making a mistake and failed to intervene by calling timeout.
Eberflus has messed up many times in his career, but this is the biggest lapse of judgement I’ve ever seen by him, and from any coach in a while. If the other games weren’t enough to fire him, then this one mostly certainly is.
The rookie QB was not prepared to run a hurry-up 2-minute offense. At 46 seconds, they took a timeout to prevent a delay of game penalty (because they took too long off the time clock setting up). Then the play call was to stay in the pocket and risk a sack instead of booting out right and use his legs to at least give him a chance to throw away the ball if needed. Then with 26 seconds left, and the clock running because it was a sack, the rookie QB didn't hurry up, but set up like it was the 1st Quarter, using the entire time clock before the snap! COACHING FAILED TO PREP THE QB.

If incomplete nbd and if caught and goes out of bounce then you can walk your kicker out. If he somehow gets tackled in bounce then you got a timeout. I blame coach for the preparation part of the plays. It wasn’t that he froze. The team dropped the ball and it’s SEEMS like it’s a preparation thing. Team has to know he wasn’t calling a timeout and get back. Unacceptable. He won’t survive the week. Others are to blame too though
What's forgotten in all this is the most horrendous pass interference call in the history of NFL, by the referee, on 4th and 17. Game was ALREADY over but referees gave a GIFT of another life to Chicago, which they foolishly rejected!!
When the coach’s mismanagement even surprises the opposing team and fans, it’s time to go.
Most teams practice 2 minute drills. This was an excellent example of why you practice it before hand. This was pure idiocy.
Flus: Imma show you how to pull a loss from the jaws of victory!
Campbell: That's grit Flus..........that's grit!!!
Give Eberflus a break. He was just think of their draft position. One Pride!
Fire Poles and Flus!
Well let’s all at least thank flus for giving us the best draft pick we could get before he goes. Let’s loose out and draft a top OL next year
Fire this Head Coach Man..come On
When the announcers question the coach's decisions in more than one game, HE MUST GO!
You tell em, Matty Ice!
We not talking about Caleb taking forever to snap it though
He has some blame in this, but the buck ultimately stops with the coach. He failed to coach situational awareness. He failed to recognize his rookie QB making a mistake and failed to intervene by calling timeout.
CHICAGO TO POLES 🗣️ “FIRE FLUS NOW”
He was trying to get one more play off to gain some yards then call the timeout but he didnt know caleb was going to launch it like a hail mary lol
Not a bears fan but even I felt bad for them.
Eberflus has messed up many times in his career, but this is the biggest lapse of judgement I’ve ever seen by him, and from any coach in a while. If the other games weren’t enough to fire him, then this one mostly certainly is.
YEA THEY ARE TANKING ON PURPOSE ITS OBVIOUS
They're all like "We better go to commercial before somebody on this dais gets fired!"
It is not the Rookies fault it is the Head coaches fault he can call a time out.
Matt and Bill don’t act like you’ve never froze up at the end of the game…I can only speak about Bill about numerous game decisions he blew in so many playoff games…..at least give the guy a mulligan
Caleb sat there froze and choked for 12 seconds had no clue what he was doing…. Any competent QB would have known get to line snap ball… he sat there watching clock doing nothing….
Can't blame Caleb for that. He's still a rookie QB. This all falls on Flubs because he is the one that should be protecting Caleb and not putting him in those types of situations.
@ rookie in nfl… he been playing football since he was 5 this ain’t his 1st game… Coach should have called timeout when he saw his qb was lost. But that scenario should have already been prepared. I mean he had everyone line up he just there wasted 10 sec before he snapped ball, He froze
Yo Nate nope coach fault all the way not on players if you dont give them green light call timeout. Heck Brady Manning even Russ would have called timeout
They were tanking for the draft pick, or certain people had made arrangements with some bookies.
Why did Bears go for 2 point instead of extra point on their last td. They coulda won the game. 2 pts would do nothing
Keep that draft position baby.
