You're a legend, you are a great help. I been happy with your scrolling brushes and now a customer wants me to do lettering. So I looked to you today and you gave me the answers. I will contact you again very soon to get a few of the brushes sent to Australia.
Steve you're a bad mo fo! I watched your videos because I was interested in different forms of art to try. Went to Dick Blick and grabbed some of your brushes and starting trying to work some magic. Unfortunately my fingers don't have the magic touch "yet". You make pinstriping look so fluid and timeless. Quite the contrary. I have a new found respect for you and all professional pinstripers. It's by far a perfected skill that takes much experience. I also purchased a Mack brush.... Doesn't compare to the flexibility and consistency of Kafka brush. Amazing quality products👌🏼 I also purchased the grid stencil and a few other items from your website, awesome stuff. Please keep making more videos, they really help. Rock on' 👊🏽
That was great! Especially the last part about making some money. It got me thinking. Us know because I am an old ads street performer. In Corona time. And I had just got a few script brushes and some paint for my Christmas present to myself for living this long. I have been practicing on a big picture frame that I just turned the picture around and drew some lines on the big blank page. Anyway here we have a metal pile to put and take metal'trash'. In there earlier today was a fender from a motorcycle but didn't have a use for it until I saw this video.
You are amazing! I also do lettering sometimes, specially, if I need to make a greeting card for one of my bosses or friends. Thanks for the video and for the tip as well.
Awesome! iv'e been into art since i was a wee little guy, but i have slacked off the past cuple of years.I have an urge to start doing some pinstriping now though, never to late to have my skills reborn and improved lol..take care great work!
Hi Fred, Stop pre-mixing your paint, what you must learn is palleting. Watch all of my videos to see how I pallet my brush. The Longliner should be used blade side down as any sword striper is used.. Make sure you take the sizing out of the brushes before attempting to use them, simply wash out with non- auto lacquer thinner until soft ,then finish in mineral spirits ,store in my brush oil. The age of the paint doesn't matter ,just stir it well, e-mail me if you need help, and have fun! Steve
Steve your a master and a gent. I would dearly like to try these brushes but can't find them in the UK, any suggestions? Thanks again for the inspiration!!!!!!!!!!
I want to try this with Acrylic fluid or inks, waterbased. Any recommendation on a brush that would suit? I have liner brushes with taklon that are springy, great for this lines n dagger strokes but none that are softer like this n have that spreading that seems to happen without individual strands going off n not having crisp edges.
Hi Steve, I have a question about 1shot. I make wooden signs hand carved. I have had some problems with the paint. Have you ever had the paint dry and then kind of turn into a spiderweb affect? Do you always pallet on the magazine paper vs dipping into the can? What about painting over wood stain? Thanks for your advise and thank you for your videos they are very good! You are comforting to watch therefore it’s easy to pay attention 🤯. Do you ever come to St. Vibrations in Reno? Thanks again, Eric Sign Maker/Chef
Eric Englund ,never heard of the spider web effect that your getting, wrong thinners? I always pallet with gloss format magazines. Sorry but I’ve never tried to paint over wood stain, but have double coated some carved signs. I just did my first show in Nevada in forty years, for the Von Dutch Cổ.
Steve Kafka thank you very much for getting back to me. What do you call it when paint dries and bunches up from being to thick? Kind of the same affect. If u ever get to Reno I hope I can meet you! Thank you, Eric
Eric if the paint is too thick and globs up , it would seem reasonable to thin the paint and put several coats on with a drying time between each coat, would eliminate the issue..
@@stevekafka Sounds right, I'll take a pic when it happens again. I was using the paint straight from the can. Now I have the Thinner so I'll just keep trying it.
Hi, im 16 and new to striping, i love your scroll brush wich i use to practice with. Im having a little trouble with using a 00 Longliner brush that i ordered from you. How would i use it? Another thing is, im having trouble with my one shot. I would always take it out of the can then add some thinner and some some mineral spirits. It seams to always dry up after a few minutes. The paint is around 7 months old. Would it be easier/ smarter to have premixed paint and if so how would i do that?Fred
Hello Steve, i wanna buy one of your brushes to pinstripe my helmets. Is it easier to take a thinner one or a thicker one for the handling ( as a beginner ) and the result ( in relation to the #4 Brush u use in this video and the size of a helmet ) ... kind regards from germany!
Where can I purchase a #4 liner brush? I cant seem to find one anywhere. I have searched everywhere and the #4 liner brush seems to be the Holy Grail. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! Thanks in advance.
Yep , I am in England UK,- & mightily impressed with Steve's style & work. I have my favourites, but I am always ready to try a new brush !!, ya' never know, but who ? just who stocks these ???
If you would like to do a script style you would use a #4 Liner, for block or a casual style you would use a Kwill #4. These are a perfect size for helmets, Have fun, make money!
You say you want to pinstripe your helmets, thi8s video demos one of my lettering brushes...for lettering. My pinstriping brushes are used for pinstriping(see other videos) stevekafkadotcom has all that you need
Typo, twirll or spin it is what I meant to say, sorry. Anyway do not spin the brush between your fingers you don't have to when you use my design brushes. There are enough factors involved with out extra-ordinary brush manipulation
