    Using a vice with a socket(the matches size of outer race) is the easiest way to seat bearings. I use a towel or rubber vice pads depending on application to protect parts

    Oh man I needed this video bad. Our Notorious 8s, & sure as what. Rear & front. Got them ordered now... I parked in couldn't figure out the noise & it was motor baerings.

    I did try the grease method, and no luck. The grease just pushed back through the inner race. I did see a video of someone that used bread. I thought it was just maybe a joke, but after using grease and not working, I tried using bread. Unbelievably it worked. Thank you for your content. Your videos persuaded me to get into crawling and it’s a blast!

    Instead of grease to push the rear bearing out, try little rolled up balls of bread. Stick one in the bearing hole and use the motor armature to push it down. Worked like a charm for me and didn't squish past the seals.

      I used that method to remove the pilot bearing (clutch replacement) on my 02 camaro. The bearing removal tool wouldn't cut it but 6 slices of bread did the trick!

    Man sand might have the same consistency as water when no in view. It’s amazing how it literally gets every where. Even sealed systems

    Bread works better than grease for forcing a bearing out. It's a lot thicker and doesn't push out around the edges etc.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ll do that next time for sure

  • @DoRC
    @DoRC 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm not sure if those bearings you used were or not but it's important to make sure you use bearings that are specifically designed for the speeds that motors rotate at. Standard bearings are not rated for those kinds of speeds and they also have grease in them that is too thick for really high speeds. You might be able to get away with it but the bearing won't last nearly as long as a proper high speed motor bearing.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. Most greases when they get hot they thin out so they flow. But with that said these don’t come with much at all. For me it’s a maintenance thing.

    Hey the “hydraulic thing” you can also do with cheap toast bread, yea bread the same one you eat. Slowly keep hammering small crumbles of it and bearing will come right out. Sounds silly but I swapped it multiple times that way with different blind hole motors

    This is the motor I recently put in my Kraton EXB and I have one for the Outcast EXB roller also. It’s an absolute beast with this can!! Great air control. Works pretty good with the Spektrum 160 amp esc but the esc definitely heats up more. I have the Max 5 and hopefully that solves the esc overheating issues 🤔🤔🤔

    • @ExocagedRC

    Running too tight pinion mesh kills motor bearings so fast. So does the xmaxx belt drive kit. I've seen two buddies go through motor bearings and motors so fast with that belt drive kit because there is so much tension on the motor shaft. I get nice abec7 7 bearings in my motors they last so long!

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I’ve not once been impressed with the belt drives. These teeth are so big that they just beat the heck out of everything. Hopefully the new Vitavon mount in the DBXLE will stop the flex and keep them right.

    to get the bearing out heat up the outside. or entire plate. Try to keep bearing it self cool or cooler and it should get out easily , make sure u have the new one ready to put in . When outside gets cold it is harder to get the new one in. And use a peace of wood to push it it. NEVER USE A HAMER ON UR BEARINGS!

      Yes, I always use a table vice when installing bearings into endbells. I usually freeze the bearing first and also put a drop of thin oil in the recess in the endbell so the bearing goes in Easy and can come out easier.
