    You can lose as much as you want really, but it will slow down once your new sleeve starts stretching, that’s because you start eating more, don’t get scared though, the sleeve has to stretch or else you’ll keep eating such small portions that the weight loss will never stop, you don’t want that either. I’m 6’0”, after my pre op diet I had my surgery at 306 lbs, I lost about 20 lbs before the surgery, I went down to 171 lbs after a year, but I ended up liking 180 lbs more, and that’s where I’m at for the most part, sometimes a few lbs less, sometimes a few lbs more. Throughout that whole time I was working out, combination of diet and exercise really, you could say I lost all the weight in about a year, and I’ve been maintaining ever since with exercise and watching what I eat. Everyone is different though, but if you put in the work with the nutrition and workouts, you will see great results, it’s all on you really, the sleeve helps a ton, but it’s not a cure at all for obesity, you still need to maintain self control and overall discipline, with time the sleeve stretches and more food will fit before you start feeling that fullness, but that’s when you come into play and hit the brakes on the overeating.

    • @Onwednesdaywewearpinkk
      @Onwednesdaywewearpinkk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Your tummy actually stays the same size it doesn’t stretch. Thai’s a myth.

    • @STILLNIGHTPEARL
      @STILLNIGHTPEARL 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Onwednesdaywewearpinkk I don’t think so, it takes more food to feel full now two years out, it’s nowhere near before, maybe half the portion size, but compared to say 6 months post op, I can definitely eat more before I feel full. So no, I don’t think it’s the same size as it was right after the surgery, back then a few bites and I would hit that wall quick, now I can finish small meals with ease.

    • @mariobriones1990
      @mariobriones1990 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@STILLNIGHTPEARL The reason you were able to intake less at first right after surgery is that your stomach was actually swollen from the surgery. Therefore you were limited in your intake. Once the swelling goes down your stomach starts adjusting to its new size. Sleeve stretch is a myth. Dr. Alvarez did a video on that subject.

    • @STILLNIGHTPEARL
      @STILLNIGHTPEARL 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mariobriones1990 I find it hard to believe that my new stomach is the exact same size now as it was back in 2019, I still can’t fit the same amount of food as pre op, but I could fit about half of that in one sitting now, for the first year it wasn’t even close. So what you’re saying is that for the first year it was swollen, that’s why I couldn’t eat much?

    I got the surgery in Cali Colombia june 29 2022. (USA insurance would not cover it) Best decision I made. I lost 70 LBS the first month. Maybe 25 the second month. I hit a platau a couple of weeks and now im losing about 3 pounds a week. In 3 months I have already lost over 100 LBS. I started at a maximum weight of 403. I am now down to 293 and look at food complete different, I am much more happy and Athletic. My quick lost was due to working out daily starting the same day of the surgery. My Doctor wanted me to walk at least 15 mins 3 times a day in my hospital room. Once released I walked about 2 miles a day. After 4 weeks, i began playing tennis and returning to the gym. i would get tired at first but it all improved over time.

    It's now how MUCH you lose it's how much you keep off after 4-10 yrs. I had the sleeve in 2015 and I fluctuate between 20-25 lbs regain and it's extremely hard to lose unless you starve, I am older at 59. I am ok at where I'm at, I lost about 90 lbs with the sleeve and 40lbs with cancer. I have maintained 70lbs for about 5 yrs now. I do NOT REGRET it all, without it I am for sure that I would be back at 250 for sure.

      @@tesspeters7837 I’m goin to be honest with you being 6 years out as of September i don’t stick to the diet because life happens and i also don’t really eat much my diet consists of a lot of ice that I then turn into snow( the surgery has made me severely anemic so I am constantly craving ice) when I do eat food I try to stick to things that are higher in calories but is still on the healthier side because I burn more than I’m usually putting in which then causes the weight loss part to come in. My journey has been extremely rough and nothing in life could have prepared me for it. I was a very emotional eater I turned to food for every emotion and that’s how I got to be over 500lbs. I had the surgery to save my life and while I’m thankful that I went through with it, there are days where I struggle mentally, emotionally and even physically. But you have to remember everyone is different and our bodies handle the weight loss differently. My advice is don’t get discouraged and don’t beat yourself up if you get off track we are our own worst enemy and if you let that take control you won’t be able to enjoy the life you are working towards.

      @@Makeup_by_Aziza I had my surgery at 23 years old so the elasticity in my skin was still able to help with the excess skin.. now I’d be lying if I didn’t say I still have some because 338lbs is a lot of weight to lose as quickly as I did it’s mostly in my stomach and arms everything else is pretty normal to my opinion. I think it really depends on where you carried your weight and your age.. also I’d like to note that I haven’t worked out at all since I’ve had my surgery it’s not my thing and never will be lol i am active but not in the sense of working out so I’m sure that if I did workout I could tone myself up and not have so much excess skin.

    I am approaching 400 pounds, I'm 385. Starting to think about doing WLS. I am a 44 year old 6'3" male. I dont have any diagnosed disease like hbp or diabetes etc. Could I still be considered for surgery without disease?

    I'm 3 months out and I noticed that I stopped losing weight in the last month.
    I lost 24kg since Feb. I am unable to eat or drink I'm always throwing up and I used to walk 6000 steps every day but nowadays I'm too busy and can't do any exercise because I'm leaving the country. I drink 1L of water only per day. And I don't eat sweets at all. So any advice?

      Give it time. Even sets of jumping jacks in your room can help with the cardio. The weight lost will stall and then start dropping again because you body is adjusting to your calorie intake, After a couple of weeks you will see a drop again for a while before it stalls again

      @@-TheOracle- I got the surgery in June and I’ve had about 3 weight stalls so far. First was the longest 2 weeks post op after losing 15 pounds. I stalled for 2 weeks then kept losing again. Apparently it’s common. I’ve lost 40 pounds 😊

      Not exactly, can be useful, you only have to be coordinated with your physician and your bariatric surgeon
