    I am just under 1 year post op with Dr. Alvarez and ive lost over 100% of my excess weight. I am actually under weight at this point, but i am working on building my muscle back. Surgery date my weight was 286lbs and I am currently at 151lbs and im 5'11". Thank you Dr. Alvarez!

      Congratulations!!!! How did it take you to loose that much? And when did you first see a difference loosing weight after the surgery? And you drink meal replacement drinks 2-3 weeks before eating back regularly. And Tks

    • @ryanragan8899
      @ryanragan8899 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @jacquetyson5621 I honestly just followed through with the diet that Dr. Alvarez put in place. I followed the time-line, with the clear liquids, then full liquids, then soft foods and then all foods. If you follow that diet post surgery, it will all come together. Trust the process. Walking was and still is VERY important. I still walk at least 5 days a week. I had more weight to lose than most, but I honestly probably over obsessed with the scale. DO NOT OVER OBSESS WITH THE SCALE. I still drink protein shakes at least once a day, if possible. I started seeing results that very first month. I lost about 50lbs or so in those first couple months, and the weight loss and slowed down ALOT for me in months 6-12.

      @ryanragan8899 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @jacquetyson5621 it will get easier trust me. I'm sure in your head your thinking, this is going to be impossible. As long as you stick to your diet you will be OK. It will be next to impossible to over eat after surgery, so the only thing that will make you gain weight, or stay where you are now is if you eat the wrong stuff. Stick with your protein, fruits, and vegetables. It's really not that hard once you get used to it!

      @@jacquetyson5621 Good luck!
      Whatever you can do now to cut down on carbs/sugar/processed food/caloric drinks in general will help tremendously.
      Had my VSG oct 31, 2023.
      Lost 35lbs from July to OCT 31st and a lil over 35 lbs up through today.
      so 70lbs down since my heaviest at 293lbs.
      First few weeks post procedure were kind of trash.
      but it gets better.
      as already mentioned stick to the diet restriction plan. and trust that the menu will open up sooner than you think.

    Questions for the doctor, can you make a video addressing these questions? if a person's metabolism has slowed drastically which contributed to the excess storage of fat then how is this corrected internally with weight loss surgery? If a person has contended with chronic stress and will continue to encounter chronic stress, how does weight loss surgery correct those internal processes of exaggerated cortisol responses to stress...which contributed to the the excess storage of fat in the first place? Lastly, if a person is severely insulin resistant then how does weight loss surgery correct that internal process of the body requiring more insulin production to cover carb intake?

    I had my surgery 10/05/23 and I can’t reach my surgery office, I’m continually sent to voicemail that is never answered and after speaking with multiple people who have had their surgery procedures at the same office this is what has happened to them as well 😢if it wasn’t for your videos and outline I downloaded I honestly would have no guidance. I had to seek medical help from my primary care physician who is now helping me with acid reflux medication. So thank you Dr A.. for all that you do to guide your own patients as well as those left on their own.

      Be sure to go online and leave a Google review and/or a review on their website, if possible. It's a struggle for people after surgery (I am 10 days out) and I couldn't imagine being left to my own accord without my doctor's support. Don't let others suffer what you have suffered (if you can help it). I am super stoked that Dr. A has been able to answer your questions with his videos. Best of luck to you.

      First, I hope you’re better!! Like the note above, please leave a Google and/or Yelp review describing your experience, and include the physician name in comments. This helps others understand what they’re getting in to! Unfortunately consumers are expected to do the leg work with a lot of physicians/businesses. ❤
