@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes oh my days it was the best pilau rice all my kids and hubby loved it alhamduillah your so good with your skills masha allah will be makein your chapil kebabs tonite yum yum
Hi Saniya, thank you for your comment. I just believe that Dum always turns out better in the oven because it's got even distribution of heat all around and when on a stove the pot can be bigger than the actual gas/ceramic/induction ring so all areas of the pot may not get even heat to give proper Dum. Hope that helps! 😊
Hi this looks lovely! Before I give it a go. Is your ratio 1 cup of rice to 1.5 cups of water? I’m rubbish at making rice so want to get it right. Thank you 🙏
Thank you for your comment Sports casual. My ratio is 1-2, so for every 1 cup of rice its 2 cups of water. However having said that it does depend on the brand of rice u use as some brands require a little more or less water. Which I will do a video on very soon to explain Hope that helps for now.
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes I use veetee extra long basmati which comes out great in my rice cooker! 😂 I’m just a little nervous when making pilaus as In the past rice has been mushy. Thanks for the reply! Great channel 👍
Mashallah! Love your recipes! Which rice do you use & how long do you leave it to soak for? Also does it make much of a difference if you use veg stock instead of chicken stock?
Thanks Sophie 😊 I've used Veetee extra long basmati for this recipe and I've soaked it for 30mins. I would say yes it does make a difference as the chicken stock cubes have more flavour than veg ones. 😊
Yum! Today I have chosen & printed 4 of your recipes to try, just going to pop to KQF for a couple of missing ingredients then I'm set to cook for the week, wish me luck & a big thank you! x BTW one of my favourite snacks is fresh carrot pickle with a piece of naan, is there any chance of you making a tutorial for carrot pickle? If anyone can make it easy to follow then that would be you, 🙏 please.
That is wonderful to hear and I'm grateful to people like yourself who appreciate good food along with easy to follow instructions! Thank you! And yes, I have my grandma's carrot and mango pickle recipe which I have yet to share with you all very soon! 😊
Tasted very good but a burnt layer of rice stuck to the bottom of the pan. How do you get yours not to stick? Do you stir whilst the stock is reducing? Thank you, I love your recipes!
Amazing recipes as always, subscribed and liked! Just one request, if you could mention throughout what setting the heat is on the cooker for each process. Thanks 👍🏽
Hi Slim M, thanks for your comment. I'll bare that in mind for future videos. I do sometimes mention hob settings but not everyone has a ceramic hob which is similar to an induction one! 😊
Where do you buy your Greek yoghurt from? I usually buy the Tesco own brand Greek style yoghurt but I feel like that looks more thicker than what you’re using
Hi Im going to make this today. Just wanted to ask how much water you need for the chicken broth in the jug? Also, can i give dhum in the oven? Many thanks xx
Hi Dolly G, thank you for your comment. All the ingredients are listed the description box. You need 3 mugs of water. My mug equals 250ml. So you would need 3 mugs! 750ml in total and yes you can give Dum in the oven.
Oh of course thank you. I appreciate the quick response. Dhum in oven ok? Im using small pieces of leg chicken meat so should i still use yogurt to tenderise it as its naturally a tender part of the chicken? Many thanks Xx
Thank you so much. You’re brilliant at what you do & by far my go to youtube recipe lady! Ive tried quite a few of your recipes now and they have come out amazing. Lots of love ❤️
Hi Sana, the previous pilau is made using on the bone chicken, this however is boneless chicken with potatoes and I use yoghurt in this pilau which I didn't use in the previous one! Hope that helps.
Rumaisa, thank you for your comment! I'm not sure people would enjoy that sort of content so I just never thought of it doing it! But I may give it a go! 😊👍

Hi Sarah, thank you for your comment! Wonderful to hear you enjoyed this recipe 😊
So excited to try this! What makes you determine if it should go in the oven or to dum on the stove?
Hi Saniya, thank you for your comment. What kind of yoghurt should be used??
Any kind can used. It won't alter the end product.
Iam going to make this right now.
Graham, I hope you enjoyed this wonderful dish! I am 2 days late in replying to your comment, would love to know how you found it! 😊👍
How long do you soak the rice for?
30mins minimum

Hi T A, thanks for your comment. I buy mine from Morrisons and it's the Lancashire Farm Greek Style
Yogurt! Hope that helps 😊

Hi, which chicken stock do you use? Thanks
Hi N Ash, thank you for your comment. I use the Maggi chicken stock cubes 😊
Thanks love!
I’ve only got vegetable stock cubes is that okay x
Hi Saffron, thanks for your comment. Yes you can use veg stock cubes 😊 although the flavour of the end product comes out more with chicken ones!

What if you don’t have any type of stock? Can I do without or can I replace stock with something else? x
Fozia, if young have chicken stock cubes then use veg ones as a replacement. If no stock cubes then boiled kettle water works just fine.
Salaam. Was the chicken stock just 2 cubes and 3 mugs of water mixed?
Wsalaam, yes it was! 😊

I did follow everything nd dnt knw what I did wrong cz food was tasteless nd rice became mushy 😭
Oh dear! Different brands of rice take different amounts of water. Try reducing the water by 1/2 cup and see how the rice turns our next time.
