Fantastic version! Love Mme. Nikolayeva's tempos, particularly Op. 42-5. The octave-leaps do not blurr the other parts. Just admirable. Thanks for sharing such marvel.
Such a rich and uncompromising sound in op.42 n.5. Mesmerising🥀...
ARTISTA NÃO É MÁQUINA... TODOS IGUAIS TODOS DIFERENTES, COMO NÓS , HUMANOS COM SUAS FORÇAS E FRAQUEZAS. Tatiana Nikolayeva IMPRIME UMA FORÇA COM FLUÍDEZ E TRANSPARENCIA , SÓ ELA MESMO!
Her op.42 n.5 is the best out there. With the slower tempo she showcases the pathos and desperation of the piece better than anyone
Etude 2: 2:22
Etude 3: 3:13
Etude 4: 4:17
Etude 5: 7:05
Etude 6: 10:42
Etude 7: 12:52
Etude 8: 14:10
Great performance of etude no 5, which is my favorite in this op...
Flawlessly and impressive. Each parts of the piece leaving in one universe.
*Living in one Universe, not leaving.
One of the most underrated pianist
I simply cannot get over the gloriousness of her playing. Surely one of the greatest Scriabinists. She may even surpass Sofronitsky. Never thought I'd hear such ferociousness, beauty, and control.
Thanks ADGO! Nikolayeva is more than amazing again. I like her singing approach to Scriabin a lot, as a valid alternative to the often hyper-nervous of other great interpreters. It throws new light for me on the so often mentioned Scriabin-Chopin relation.
That’s very nostalgic. It makes me feel sadness, anger, jealousy, strength, mentally capable of everything. That’s Scriabin to me.
Она потрясающая ! Браво !
Como todas las ejecuciones de Tatiana, excelente! Gracias por compartir estas joyas ADGO!
N.5 One of my favorite rendition
Meravigliosa Maestra.
every note is crystal clear and distinctly heard - Scriabin wanted them there for a reason and Tatiana captured it fully
wonderful ! great!
passion and superb technique
Alongside to Sofronitski, Richter, Gilels, Michelangeli... and a few others, one of the greatest pianist who ever lived !
Michelangeli could never hope to play like that. He was not in the same league. Not by a long shot.
@@paulparoma Stupid comment, Michelangeli was a genius.
Wonderful , thank you🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
Just Wow !
such a beautiful rendering, very careful and restrained use of pedal as compared to most pianists treating this piece, consistent tempo too, without excessive rubato
Divine..
4:17 ....pure nostalgia....
Esplêndido!! Sem palavras!
I would like to learn No. 4; Nikolayeva's interpretation is so beautiful and inspiring.
❤
God is Tatiana
Гениально
7:05 absolutely breathtaking
Listen to Fiorentino for a more nervous approach, you won't be disappointed
The best
My fav number 3

7:04 etude no.5
It's interesting that she play No.5 with some waltz and march rhythm.
What a rarity!!! Do you know the year of this recording? It is not even mentioned in her official discography! Thank you!
I only know it's from the 1970s
Very interesting, clever execution, not completely for my taste but ...n 5 is really convincing, and personally performed!
No. 5 is my least favorite of the Op. 42, but Nikolaeva plays it nobly and without a hint of bombast. 👏🏻
I find the tone harsh, although that probably has something to do with the recording
You are looking in all the wrong places, Mr. Smith.
7:04
This is just shockingly brutal playing. Is this legitimate? What is the source of these recordings?
So heavy handed. Not much tenderness or magic. Like a Mack truck coming right at you. My goodness🤨
Too bad she couldn't take lessons from you.
The professors of the Moscow Conservatory
did not take the seedy.
More than likely!
cry about it
I love these etudes, but she throws every note in your face - she certainly has no subtlety. If should would keep the accompaniments down her playing would have more focus - she tends to "crank out" everything, she makes some of the longer etudes sound interminable because she has so little color.....but I respect her playing and have heard her sound better - especially in the Shostakovitch preludes and fugues
n.5 is so slow, not "affannato" as Scriabin wrote.
Horrible! Pedantic, metronomic, colorless, hard driven and harsh sounding!
OMG! What a pedantic, belabored, literal reading completely devoid of Scriabin's spirit!
A left hand that plays martellato from the beginning to the end! What a mess!
lol
It's just that we got used to a certain way of playing. We fall so easily into the purist mindset. Some particular interpretation of someone great of the past sets the standard in our minds forever and any other way of playing is basically 'bad'. However experimentation is part of life and we should respect the courage and personality of someone deciding to play things in their own way. Everybody hated Gould when he first became famous with his unorthodox approach to playing Bach (and pretty much everything else, really). But now retrospectively virtually everyone agrees he was a genius, whether we like his approach or not. I think Nikolayeva's playing is great and valid in and of itself if we lay aside our preconceptions of how these pieces 'should' sound.
Sometime it's better to listen and listen and listen one more time and, after it, to think if an opinion is really essential... probably it isn't!!!
Schlammschlacht statt Lyrik
Op. 42. n. 5 Einfach sehr schlecht...
You can hear in her Scriabin Sonata 4 that she didn't quite have the temperament for this composer. However life is about trying things.
Ja - I agree
@@ADGO lol absolutely not, she loved scriabin and they were close friends
@@lukasantos6991 you mean Shostakovich you twat she wasn't born until 9 years after Scriabin died
