Thanks for educating the public - having arrived in Australia since the establishment of the Intervention, I had no idea how recent it was and how deep it went.
@@garawa1987I guess we'd better take back all the native title and the billions spent annually of tax payers money, then. Doesn't sound appreciated and it certainly isn't helping these savages.
Well the natives didn’t have much when we got here but they sure have and want a lot now ! Go live in the bush like you did culturally and see how it goes ? Can’t aircon a humpy ? You living in one would know that 🤔
How about all the land lease that the government got traditional owner to sign over. And I believe that First nations didn't Up they arm in the air. Because they believe what was being say about the Aboriginal were true.
This video brought to you by someone who hasn’t been to remote NT communities. Not saying I agree with all of the outcomes of intervention but to suggest it wasn’t ABSOLUTELY necessary is a lie. If alcohol comes back to the NT bush, it will be a war zone.
Thank heavens this shameful period is finishing. Now for something which truly empowers Indigenous people to be in charge of their lives and future. The people themselves know the best way forward. Let us all listen and respect, and with the people, change institutions and practices so that they reflect what we have heard and which respect Indigenous knowledge and wisdom.
John Howard certainly did a lot (of damage) for the country. This makes me so wild! Seriously I don't know how ANYONE can follow the "advice" from the gov, they are not y/our friend.
So it makes complete sense; what Jacinta Price is up to regarding her political career. It’s simply to gain an extension of the intervention; and an expansion into other remote Indigenous communities.
Wow, because nothing says 'progress' like 15 years of paternalistic control over marginalized communities! Who needs self-determination when we have government policies to dictate every aspect of people's lives? 👏🙄
I could't agree more. Thanks for publicising this. It is a monstrous human rights abuse.

I haven't been in the NT since the mid '80s, and I'm embarrassed to say, I had no idea this shocking state of affairs happened. Utterly disgusting!
thank for the info / reminder 👍🏾
I’m ashamed to say I didn’t know all of this was happening. I only knew about dry communities and the basic card.
Virtue signal. How can you be ashamed of something you had no part in?
@@jamesdanton9033 because I should have known and I should have stood up at the time.
A lot of things you have suggested at the end as “new” solutions have all been central to the entire intervention process.
Sounds about right. They have all these big ideas to “help” but they really have no idea at all about how to actually help our indigenous population.
Can’t help people who don’t wanna be helped face the facts
Colonsit don't help only destroy 200yrs of destroying indigenous culture and a people the same ways youse helped liberate Iraq, Afghanistan and libia

Spot on. Grew up out west NSW so I can say from decades of personal experience.

Jacinta Price is the Gregory Andrew’s 2.0.
Note; they only found ONE case of child abuse that had been substantiated.
Inhumanity of the L-NP is horrendous, what they will do to vulnerable communities for their own financial gains is criminal… ❤️ never forget.
Unfortunately the ALP and all those in both Federal and NT Politics were involved - corrupt POS!
Can they not get a job and do for themselves? No one pays for me. I pay for everyone else.

Tell me what the aboriginals did in the 50k years before white men and I'll show you the Hagia Sophia.
Come say it to our faces tough guy
