FYI..I recently used a few of the pink semi-permanent colors from ion to create an ombre effect. Its best if your hair is completely lightened before using as it will only really take on lightened parts of your hair. After a lot of research I proceeded to wash my hair with no conditioner or products applied. I used a neutral protein filler that I put in a spray bottle and applied evenly over my towel dried hair & combed through. Waited 1/2 hour to start applying the color. Instead of mixing with conditioner (which I've seen in many demo's that left spotty results, I recommend that you buy the clear colored deluter to mix with the color as it is too thick to apply without diluting ( you can use more if trying to to acheive a lighter color). I do not recommend just mixing it with conditioner since everywhere I read said to use the color on unconditioned hair not to mention I watched several videos where conditioner was used and the hair came out spotty. I also recommend combing every strand or section through from root and to ensure coverage. Everywhere I read it said to leave the color on for a minimum of 2 hours some even left it on overnight covered with a plastic cap, Saran Wrap or plastic grocery bag. I did the plastic cap and grocery bag to hold in the heat. I really recommend doing this as the color will not harm your hair as it does not contain any peroxide or ammonia. When finished rinse it out really well with cool water only (do not shampoo). I also applied the ion color seal, left it on a few minutes while working it through my hair and then rinsed again with cool water. You can use in place of a conditioner one to two times per week this helps lock in the color. If not, just condition. I also recommend not washing your hair more then one to two times per week with these type of colors as they will only fade faster. Try using a little dry shampoo at the roots if needed in between washes. Ion also makes a light sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair that seems to work well and does not cause excessive bleeding when washed. By the way- my color came out amazing, people were asking me where I got my hair done. Hope this helps someone. 😊
I used the semipermanent and it showed up as very blue in some parts, I didn't care for it at all. People are saying they changed the formula in the past few years.
After you bleach your hair, you need to tone it with a violet color to neutralize the yellow. Otherwise, the semi-permanent (has a blue undertone) will fade, but still have the yellow underneath. Blue and yellow make green, so that's the reason you ended up with green hair.... that pesky yellow kills it.
potentiallycasey no problem! I have made the very common mistake of not toning before applying a semi-permanent color. My color was definitely not the color I was going for. Lol.
@@ashg4045 by using this would it automatically tone since it's a more violet shade of silver or is a toner still needed between the bleaching and coloring process?
Maybe I have a different idea all together to bleach the hair to as white as it can go Then use the ion lightest ash blonde hair color and then the ion snow toner Saw someone do it here on TH-cam and they got the most gorgeous 😍💗 silver I am so obsessed because that's what my color is and I tried it one day Fell in love with it way more than bleach blonde

Gooooood, finally someone doesn’t use developers in it. I’ve been so confused about this!
Whats the difference between developer and conditioner?
I have salt & pepper hair, if I do this to it will it fade as it washes out? Or am I looking at a grow out?
Love the color. Looks great. The permanent version of titanium is very blue not gray. This semi perm is really nice

I just did it. It has a green tint also.
Love it!!!

Thanks for the advice!! ❤️❤️

Mine turned straight blue haha.
oh no!!! I'm so sorry that happened! Hair dye can be unpredictable sometimes haha.
The green is not going anywhere until you strip it out. It looks terrible.
