    The Infantry Battle School (IBS) in Brecon, Mid-Wales, delivers trained officers and soldiers to meet the operational requirements of the Infantry, the Army and Defence.
    The Infantry Battle School, Brecon is a British Army training establishment at Dering Lines in Brecon, Wales. A sub-unit of the Royal Gurkha Rifles, Gurkha Wing (Mandalay), is tasked with providing realistic OPFOR training for those at the IBS. The OPFOR opposing force (alternatively enemy force, abbreviated OPFOR or OpFor) is a military unit tasked with representing an enemy usually for training purposes in war game scenarios.
    The 160th (Welsh) Brigade or Brigâd 160 (Cymru), is a regional brigade of the British Army that has been in founded since 1908 seeing active service during both the First World War and the Second World War as part of the 53rd (Welsh) Infantry Division. It is a regional command responsible for all of Wales.
    The Regimental Museum of The Royal Welsh, formerly the South Wales Borderers Museum, is located at Brecon in Wales.
    Passing the Cathedral Church of St John the Evangelist which is Brecon Cathedral. Brecon Cathedral is in the Church in Wales Diocese of Swansea and Brecon.
    Brecon is in the historic Welsh county of Brecknockshire which is in Powys. The River Usk follows through the town. Brecon is Aberhonddu in Welsh. The Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal starts in Brecon and runs towards Abergavenny and Pontypool in Monmouthshire. The railway station was closed under the Beeching Axe which means the nearest stations are Abergavenny, Hereford or Merthyr Tydfil.
