You sir saved my vacation! The passenger side control got stuck at 84 degrees on Labor Day weekend. Your video allowed me to fix it and get it back down to 70. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
I know it's an old video, but my R class has had the same issue. The fix is simple. Remove the climate control panel, you will see a simall black plastic switch that moves left and right. With a needle or a toothpick, give it some small impulses, then put everything together. Magic! It's working again!
I really appreciate these videos you posted on here. All 3 diff Mercedes issues occurred on separate occasions have been resolved thanks to your video. I like the idea that your videos are quick...this makes it easy to learn, very well explained -concise to the point. Sometimes these helpful tips aren’t found in manuals, Any person with minimal knowledge about cars and perhaps someone like myself with zero background regarding Mercedes and it’s functionalities can learn quite a bit thru these helpful videos! Thanks!
Omg!!! God bless you! My poor 8 month old has been sweating it out. Sometimes I was afraid to put her in the car because she would get too hot. Thank you so much!
As a dealership I find your videos very helpful. We currently have a 2007 GL 450 with the exact same issue you describe in this video. I am about to run out to see if your hack will work. If not, at least I have some idea of what I need to repair. You were surmising worn or corroded contact points in the knob itself. Thank you for your efforts.
I just tried this and YES YES YES - my left temp setting now moves. It did not when clicking- thank you. Now to test later ti see if the Blend Doors move and all is well.
the fix is even easier. Hold that wheel you turn, and pull it out towards you, this is a problem with the contact behind the wheel. grab and pull out and itll work fine.
Thanks so much. You just saved my bacon literally. In my drivers side the temp was stuck at maximum heat. I was starting to roast every time I got in the car. Thank you once again.
Keith hi , I had exactly the same problem , l firstly sprayed some electrical contact cleaner then rotated the dial back & forth for two minutes then cleaned it off dry then sprayed some WD 40 on the same wiped it dry now it works perfectly after 2 1/2 years no problems .regards Brian S outhouse Africa .
Thanks buddy! My face and hands were being roasted alive stuck on 28 degrees on the drivers side and then ice cold on my passenger side. Followed your steps and it's back down to a more tolerable 21 degrees. Was about to kick my W164 in a temper
Thanks I will try this in my truck it was blowing cool air out of all the vents but one , will try tomorrow will see these crazy control temperature knobs don’t make sense in Mercedes’ at all it’s too hot to feel warm air after you replace a compressor !
Hi I have been following you I like your videos. Please my ml 350 air conditioner will not turn on cooling during a hot sunny day. But to toward the evening to air conditioner will come back on. What may likely be the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
My car is a Mercedes 2015 GL450. My car seems having the same problem. on the right hand side, passenger side the climate control all the way down to the maximum heat when we try to turn it back to the left and it won’t work. It always staying on the maximum. Can you please help? If in case I need to replace the parts. Can you please tell me what to buy. Thank you so much for your help! Very appreciate for your help!
I do not recommend buying a used ML 350 unless you can do most of the repairs yourself. From 2006 - 2009 the ML350 had a balance shaft issue that caused the engine to lose timing and trigger the check engine light. The only solution is a very expensive engine rebuild with new parts. See my video here on the parts that are replaced: th-cam.com/video/AaoLMXot7nE/w-d-xo.html The newer ones seem more reliable but as time goes on they will prove themselves. If you're going to buy one try to get one that has extremely low miles with a solid maintenance record. If you can get one under warranty or an extended warranty then that's even better. Mercedes Benz charges a lot for parts and maintenance. Hope this helps.
I have a 2009 GL550 and the ac blows ice cold and then randomly quits cooling. It still blows, but just not cool. I turn the ac off and then back on again after a few minutes and usually it’s ice cold again. I checked pressures and they seem normal to me. Any ideas?
Sounds like it could be something mechanical. Have the car checked at a jiffy lube etc. They usually do it for free. It could be a number of things, from as simple as low refrigerant to a compressor gone bad. Have it checked and let me know what they find. Good luck. Stay cool.
MY A/C WAS WORKING FINE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED TO BLOW HOT AIR, I RECHARGE THE SYSTEM AND IT STILL WOULD NOT WORK , WHILE RECHARGING THE COMPRESSOR SPINS BUT YOU CAN'T HEAR THE CLUTCH KICKING IN AND AS WELL THE A/C LINES DOES NOT GET COLD , WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE PROBLEM ?
Did you charge the system yourself? Was the pressure in this line checked first? Was the oil in the line evacuated before recharging the system? A sudden loss in cold air could be a sign of a failed component. It could also be a sign of a leak. You mentioned that the compressor spins but the clutch is not engaging. I would do a pressure test on the line. The clutch is designed not to engage unless there is adequate freon/oil in the line which is based on the correct psi. Too much in the line and it will not engage as well.
Hmm... Since the battery is under the passenger seat. The passenger seat airbag electrical connection may have gotten disconnected while changing the battery. Unfortunately, you have to take the car in to have the SRS light turned off if you don't have a scanning tool that handles this (MB specific Scanner)
i got same issue to .i went to the dealership and dealer told me need new software for climate adjust the temperature dealer update the software fix the problem .
You needed to zero out your car before disconnecting/replacing the battery. Zeroing out the car means all the lights, radio, electronic components are off for a certain length of time before replacing the battery. You will have to zero it out and disconnect then reconnect the battery again.
Hang on a second... let me just get this clear so, is that in-between the click and thrn go back? Just to confirm, is that in-between the click and go back? Just checking 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I have an issue with my AC motor blower keep coming on even after they keys are out and it’s draining my battery has anyone had this issue or do you know what it could be?
Hi ! Same thing for me. Even trying to disassemble, clean and reassemble, it ended up again. The only solution seems to be replacing. Which costs ~ $ 150 ! (Frustrating for something for nothing...) If someone in another trick to fix for cheap... Welcome ;-) !

a/c control panel temperature light is blinking
Sounds like your ac system may be low on refrigerant. You can test that by measuring the refrigerant pressure.
thanks for tip!
Good
What the part number
Too cool thanks
Thanks! Mercedes has so many quirks....
Brilliant.
Thanks
