F40 came out in 87, the F50 came out in 95. The F50 wasn't out shadowed by the F40, it was out shadowed by the McLaren F1 which had come out the previous year in 94 with it's top speed of 241mph and three seats.
Great post, but a few innacuacies: 1. The F1 came out in 92 2. The regular F1 "only" has a top speed of 230 mph. The F1 that did 241 had it's rev limiter removed. Also, the regular F1 kinda sucked on a track due to having a crap soft suspension and not much downforce, so many owners added wings, which affected top speed.

When ppl crow it has an "F1" engine, the racing engine displaced 3500cc and ran at 12.5:1 compression via racing fuel w/ a redline of 13,000 rpm for 700hp. The F50 version displaced 4700cc, with 11.3:1 compression, 8700 rpm redline for 520 horsepower. HOWEVER, much more reliable than the McLaren and set the benchmark for hp per liter. Here's the deal w/ all three: The F50 is a hummingbird - it needs high rpm and lacked the brunt torque of the F40, so it was SLOWER in 0-60 and 0-100 tests in the magazines than the F40, and did only 1mph more in top speed. It was the last Ferrari to use a true monocoque F1 design w/ rear suspension bolted onto engine-transmission (onto a cast iron oil sump if I remember), but it sent vibrations into the cabin big time, they nixed that for Enzo. The McLaren F1 beats the F50 in a straight line. The Ferrari F40 beats it in a straight line for a little bit. The F50 whips both on a track.
Porsche should not make all electric hyper car the Rimac can’t sell these things they are incredibly fast looks good great just no soul no connection in my opinion. Congratulations on the yellow F-50. Love the channel.
Porsche won’t make an electric hypercar. Especially with Ferrari and McLaren making another hybrid hypercar. It doesn’t make sense for their halo car to be electric when they’re still producing ice 911s and SUVs.
Ferrari is right with the V6, this engine is derived from the car that won twice at Le Mans and the 296 in less than 2 years of use in GTs already has more than 100 victories and hundreds of podiums! This car is going to be incredible.
Don't get me wrong it's a great engine, but the lack of a soulfull V12 is going to be very very very noticeable- and that's sad because a screaming V12 is an integral part of the identity of a high end ferrari .
You're probably right, but a last hurrah with a V12 would be more fitting of Ferrari. Regardless of the V6's success at Le Man I dont believe it would generate the kind of excitement a V12 would...at least a V8 worst case scenario should be considered.

Congrats Louis. It's been speculated that the twin turbo V6 is an homage to the 2023 and 2024 Le Mans winning Ferrari 499P, their first wins since 1965, so thats the connection. I also think being a twin turbo you should match your spec to your blue twin turbo F40. That would be one of the most unique pairs of big 6 Ferrari's in the world.
Really been enjoying your channel and recommend it often to friends! - All Electric performance cars are not the same as typical EVs or even Teslas.. The Porsche Taycan and Audi Etron GT for example are some of the best cars currently out on the market period. Do I still love gas power cars? Sure, but the ride quality and performance of a performance EV is unmatched by any gas car and makes for a great daily driver.
Congratulations on your allocation! I'm 49 years old and have owned 9 Porsches through the years and have always loved the brand. But, still to this day, whenever I hear the word "supercar," the first car to pop into my head is the F40. Though now, as I've gotten older, I think I would choose the 288 GTO if I was offered either one to own and drive until the day I die. The beauty of the GTO in person is absolutely mesmerizing.
I’ve heard that the new HP war will be high RPM wars, which in a lot of ways is more exciting than going from 1000 hp to 2000- the high RPM is a lot more useable

I mean the 12Cilindri has a NA V12 and the Revuelto has a hybrid-V12. And they are not limited production models. So why shouldn't the F250 have at least a hybrid V12?

the 288 GTO was a proper racing developed ferrari... they made it for goup B but it didnt made it in time because group B ended around the same time the 288 came out...
I'd get the F50 and the SP3. The other Special Ferrari cars don't really appeal to me. The 288 GTO and LaFerrari are beautiful imo, but turbos and hybrids are meh.

This is the engine that Alfa ordered to be developed by Ferrari for the Gulia, 510hp without hybrid. Then they added the hybrid for the 296 GTB/GTS. Then they used it also in the Maserati MC20. But using this engine and gearbox in a flagship "80th anni / F80" is another level. Guess what Maserati just announced their own hypercar ( again with the same engine ) MC Extremo or something asking 2,3 Mio EUR and next step maybe Alfa doing also a hypercar using the engine with hybrid again. Keep the shareholders happy but only them.., I am curious to see how many traditional Ferrari collectors like the idea of a 3,5 Mio ( for the lucky ones ) / 7 Mio for the secondary market buyers flagship Ferrari sharing its powertrain with an 80k Alfa and several Maserati, Ferrari entry level and later Alfa Hypercars..., maybe better to buy Ferrari stocks instead of F250 in the secondary market.

You wouldn't say the first supercar is the countach or the miura? Personally I'd take a ferrari over a lambo in most cases but the countach came before the 288 and it's presence is undeniable.
Surly as a super limited edition....Ferrari don't have to look at sales? It's sold! They could do anything! Lamborgini have produced another V12...why not Ferrari? It's not like it's going to the masses....it's a few hundred lucky rich guys! If they go V6 it's because that's where the rest of their cars are headed IMHO

F80 looks like a LEGO TECHNIC model. Daytona SP3 would have been the logic one in the following of the big 5.
