    Forgot to mention! The unit acting as the bridge needs to be a gen2 Packtalk (Edge, Neo, Custom) but the Cardo DMC mesh group can be comprised of any Cardo DMC headset, so Packtalk Bold, Black, Slim, etc. can all be part of the conversation, they just can't act as the bridge unit.

      This method didn't work on my case. I have the pactalk edge and sena 50s Harman Kardon . Whenever I try to establish connection (by triple tap on my Cardo)to my sena, Sena will cut of its mesh function and it will inform on the speaker "mesh intercom disable" if I triple tap to disconnect the sena, the mesh on sena will work again.

      @@SenjayaXieraI have the same configuretion, Cardo Packtalk EDGE and Send 50S. I installed the latest firmware on both devices, especially on the Cardo Packtalk EDGE it is important to have firmware version 3.2 or newer installed.
      The triple tap is the latest step to activate the bridge. You first have to pair the Edge and 50S using bluetooth. Switch your Edge to bluetooth mode, then press the intercom button for 5 sec to start the bluetooth intercom pairing. Then press the jog dial on the Sena 50S for 5 sec, you will hear "intercom pairing" on the 50S. After a frew seconds, the Sena 50S led will flash in blue and now both devices are paired for intercom. After this pairing, you may have to try if both units can communicate. The you can switch on the Edgto back to DMC and aktivate the bridge with triple tap the intercom button

    I still don't know why there is no 'universal' mesh attempt from Sena and Cardo.
    It would be a great deal for the industry: pick any unit you want, connect with any rider you want, and don't be restricted by the brand. 👌

      @@stevepalmer8938 That’s unusual. I have an original Packtalk. Rather than have something expensive on the back I got a second hand pair of cheaper Fodsport VB6. Great for pillion, bt connects easy. I then wanted something slimmer and more stylish so got a pair of Cardo Spirit. My riding group are getting into Comms at last, we have three riders with Packtalk. We have a couple of pillions with them too but I find that a waste, would rather put Packtalk on more riders.
      Even a Jabra Bluetooth phone earpiece will connect to a Packtalk. I did this when I used a Jabra to cobble together a Bluetooth CB radio adapter. Didn’t get to use it so I biffed it. Shame.

    Yeah, 100 yards on a really really good day.
    Think of that bridge connection like your car Bluetooth to your phone.
    You left your phone in the house. You start the car, and the phone connects to the car and your music is playing.
    You back out of the driveway. That distance when you lose the phone connection is about what you get with the Cardo/Sena Bluetooth bridge.
    The way around that is one rider has both units with them. One on the helmet, one in a pocket or tank bag.
    I'd use the Sena, because I use that sort of setup anyway to record comms conversations for adding to the ride video.
    I replace the speakers on that Sena with a male to male TRS 3.5mm cable to the sound recorder and no mic on that Sena.
    Makes it easier. Sena also has a $200 unit for Bluetooth to Sena Mesh that you can hand to someone with the bridge Cardo unit.
    Then Bluetooth to that and now their Cardo is mesh, bridged to that little Sena unit which is Sena mesh.

      Apparently the Sena +Mesh adapter doesn't work with Cardo units. Or are you referring to another one? I believe there is an industrial/commercial unit Mesh Blue or something like that

    • @ne-adv
      @ne-adv 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lukasdisterhoft Yeah, I think the +Mesh is only a Sena BT to Sena openmesh "translator"/transceiver.
      The meshport red I think is the one that would work, but I'm seeing out of stack everywhere. I guess the best answer is the cardo to Sena and one person carries both, but only uses one for the helmet.

    • @lukasdisterhoft
      @lukasdisterhoft 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ne-adv I might have to go with that. Does it matter if the second unit is stowed away in a bag? For reception/reach

    • @ne-adv
      @ne-adv 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@lukasdisterhoft The Cardo/Sena connection is a normal bluetooth connection, much like your phone connecting to your car or your handsfree device connected to your phone. You can test if the location is blocking by using your handsfree to listen to music while the phone is in the bag/location you are testing. It's usually good for about 100 ft without issue, but I never put it in a hardcase, just a pocket or a SW-Motech tank bag, so it might matter. Since my Sena is on the helmet, I never really connected anything else to the Cardo, so I don't know if the Cardo side has to use up a device connection for this. The Sena uses up one of it's two phone pairing connections. I end up pairing my phone to my garmin and then the garmin to the Sena so the Cardo connection is free for the cardo.

      They know we will just buy two helmets with both. I prefer the Sena ease of use, I like to just use the buttons instead of relying on the app, and the phone quality is really good with the HD speakers. Cardo is probably better hardware, I hear the sound is good. If I run into a pack that has Cardo only, they know we will just get another helmet.
