Nobu is very easy to punish. But also given what her moveset is, she’s also very defenseless to hyper armor and variable attack monster shugo. You NEED bash pressure to fight them. So yea she’s pretty easy to punish and likely needs a bash, but shugoki can shut down LOTS of characters.
I mean, I’d say that the hyper armor did nothing in this matchup as she has recovery cancels and can punish me for using it. BUT, yeah if you can’t react to the heavies then it’s hard regardless and on nobu with her terrible offense it’s even worse.

Shugoki’s strength is partly the variable timed heavies, but have you noticed that opponents don’t readily fight you as they do other characters? It’s a character where them having to counter your moves/attacks have greater priority. He’s a tough nut to crack, it’s the fear of trading along with trading that shuts down movesets. Edit: In other words, he’s oppressive just standing there and near impossible to crack open unless you have a bash to either 1)Bait out your d headbutt to gb or 2) Bash you during heavies.
I never really understood the frame advantage, until I realized the slight delay the person who gb you for you to gb counter gives you a frame advantage for a safe heavy opener. I've tried that, and I've never been so surprised of how good it is was to negate a second gb or a light parry attempt. Keep up the video content!

well that nobu completely despised his dodge attacks, wich can be chained and interchanged, never blocked or dodged, didnt use hs to faint either or any faint at all... she was using half the character there, like HEY IF I BECOME A GOD WITH REACTIONS NO ONE WILL EVER TOUCH ME AGAINNNN ----> weird tempo of attacks and some faints----> dead. you are very good at blocking in any case so idk, but her strat was plaaaiiiiiiiin as hell
Neutral gb's are working atm because if you dodge at the right time on dodge foward bash you can negate the bash and the gb at the same time, its a really tight timing and you have to just dodge on movement so neutral gb's have been working pretty well, it's getting patched soon tho as im sure you've seen. Completely preference. I personally enjoy the game more on M&K because I just have everything instantly accessible. Controller feels mushy, which is not great for fighting games. Still works perfectly fine though.
Basically what the guy above me said. The only possible concern with using controller would be a miniscule amount of extra input delay depending on the controller and whether it's wired or not.

You say it a lot but could someone in the comments tell me what actions cause frame advantage. I know that counter GB does but what other actions do ?
Blocking a non-enhanced light will give you frame advantage slightly more so than a counter GB will, ending a chain with a heavy that does not get parried, also gives you frame advantage. Aside from that it’s just certain actions from specific characters that will yield frame advantage, but that just comes from experience and knowing the characters.
It essentially dictates who's turn it is to attack. So if someone has frame advantage, and they attack at the same time as someone who doesn't, the person with frame advantage will hit 1st.
When you counter guard break, you have a slight window to attack before the opponent. I believe this is a recent thing Ubisoft added. I am unsure if it applies to anything other than GBs.
Nobu is probably my fav character. If they do rework her I hope they dont do the same thing theyve done to every other character and make them less unique. I dont play the game that much anymore so maybe I'm missing something but most characters feel less interesting to play. And thats made me love nobu even more recently. She feels pretty unique. But yeah she is weak.

Man goki is just such a wall right now. He’s in such an… annoying state. Front dodge headbutt spam is a ridiculously viable tactic. I hate fighting goki lol. Also that poor Hito at the end. I felt her pain of getting every heavy parried by you.
