  • My Thoughts on Rubber Mulch. Although I really like this product for its durability and quality, I should have used something different for this application. It is costly, but when you compare dollar to dollar per bag, or if you purchase in bulk, however, it's important to consider cost of replacement after 1-2 years of regular mulch, this is a far better investment long term.

They look great for such a short amount of time. I agree wouldn’t do it again! Much better options out there for landscaping.

Glad you posted this, I was considering rubber mulch this year and would have ran into the same problem. Good info 👍
I’m also looking at removing a bunch of shrubs close to the foundation, and I’m concerned the pulling the roots out might create some leaks. I’d be interested to see or hear how you go about that with those you got there.

Yeah, definitely! It’s a mess up front here. As far as the roots, what kinda shrubs are they from, or are they from any larger trees? There’s only one on the side that’s super close to the foundation wall, but I’m just going to start trimming them back slowly and cutting out the exposed areas.
For those super close there, you could always just drill a bunch of holes in the roots and use a stump killer product or what I’ve used is Glyphosate as well to help kill it faster.

Mulch glue would make all the difference for sure!
