End of Spring Lawn Care Progress
End of Spring Lawn Care Progress - I like to document and notate any noticeable areas I need to improve or work on as well as track the progress after the busy growing spring season.
The good:
Color, growth, thickness, overall health
The bad:
Some ground cover weeds and sporadic weeds throughout, more in the back, thatch buildup in some small spots
Overall, very satisfied as we head into the heat stress of summer. Bio Stimulants are still in effect for the next few months and some spot treatment of weeds.

I purchased the 1x1 stakes a while ago, so I had these layin around for a different project.
Ridiculous Spike Aerator Shoes

Which is the best aeration method? Core Aeration and Spike Aeration each have their place. I do prefer core aeration, but there may be times spike aeration could be beneficial, although some may say by using a spike aeration method, one is actually compacting the lawn beneath the spikes more. However, I can see it being beneficial in the short term or if needing to seed an area, or prepping a g...

Sharpen Lawn Mower Blades with cheap Angle Grinder

Sharpen Lawn Mower Blades with cheap Angle Grinder. I wanted a more effective/efficient solution to sharpen these lawn mower blades. Using a manual file to sharpen lawn mower blades is tedious and time consuming. If you're taking these in to be sharpened professionally, they can cost around $10-15 on average for a set, so if you're doing that a few times a year, the cost of this cheap Walmart H...

To the guy recording this you a typical middle aged loser , get a life, women dont want you bro
Its because the employees are so sick of these asshole middle aged men who walk in there like they wanna be bad asses, stick their arms and chest out and put extra bass in their voice.
How durable are these? Will they break in the gym?
Zach, I’ve placed these down in the shop a few times, they’ve fallen off a workbench once or twice, moved around and handled quite a bit, I’d say I get at least 2-3 hours of use every week. Have never had an issue.
Thank you for your help brother🙏
Hi Julian, Glad this helped you out!
Oh that's awesome!!! 😁🥰
She’s a little unsure of the bubbles, but interested enough to pass by and sniff them to mildly investigate. I think it’s the noise from the machine that’s causing the uncertainty haha
@dbproductreviews6319 awe, she's so sweet!! Love it and before long she'll be chasing them.🥰
Lawn looks great dave
Thanks for watching, Jason! Appreciate the support.
During the summer months, I throw down Stress Blend every 4 weeks. On the same day I also spray my Bio-Stimulant cocktail..... RGS, MicroGreen, Humic12, Air8 & Hydretain. I absolutely love everything from Yard Mastery!
Sounds like a well balanced approach! Great concept to your summer regimen. Thanks for watching, Mike. What zone?
Is this an ad?
Haha thanks for watching
I purchased the same unit, ran ok for probably the first 30 minutes of total use time. Started experiencing similar issues, would run a very few minutes and stop, with about a total of 60 minutes run time, smoke started coming from the motor and it shut down. Never ran again. I sent it back to DeWalt, they have repaired it and it's being shipped back to me. Hoping for better results when I get it back. I do like the tool, just hope it works. All the trimming I've done is light work no over grown tough grass or weeds.
Thanks for watching, these are arborvitaes and we bought this house 2 years ago, so I have no clue to be honest! They’re definitely great for privacy, but tons of bugs are eating away at some of them.
What kind of trees and how much did it cost to have put up On a straight ???
Sounds like a hard pass from you DB!
Thanks for tuning in, JB!
Yup, angle grinders are great.
Well after 2 years still looking black and on place so…. 👌

Hi Sarbear, Thanks for watching! She’s a lot of fun!!
Thanks! Now I know how to use the vacuum after many, many years of only using the blower.
Thanks for watching! Glad you found this helpful.
I forgot to hook the front deck hanger bar back up and ran it over it got snagged in the pto belt and locked up the engine wich subsequently blew the pto fuse. Hahas. Great mower theres nothing like American iron 🎉
This is great. Thank you for sharing your experience with the Ryobi. I found most of the in-depth TH-cam reviews to focus on Dewalt / Bosch / Makita, etc. so there aren't many videos about this saw. I'm not a tool snob but am picky about my purchases, so spent some time doing research before buying the Ryobi. This is a great saw at a great price. Here are some observations others might find helpful: 1) So long as a miter saw allows full adjustment (like you show here) it will make perfect cuts. 2) Because this model is corded, it provides ample power. Going cordless starts to involve a manufacturer's battery system quality / brushless motors, and other considerations that increase costs. This saw uses tried-and-true technology and will always be powerful enough for its purpose. 3) All sliding miter saws struggle with blade deflection. This is a function of the slide mechanism and the size of the blade. 7 1/4" is a small blade and the Ryobi has no more deflection than any other compact saws on the market. Again, solid, tried-and-true technology. 4) The Ryobi has an LED 'shadow-line' system to mark your cuts rather than a laser. A decade ago, this was exclusive to Dewalt and was a game-changing feature. This is a huge point in favor of buying the Ryobi. 5) The dust collection is not great on this saw even with vac attached. But, miter saws are a messy tool. 6) Having to engage the trigger safety button with the side of your index finger is awkward when making many repetitive cuts. FWIW, disabling it is simple to do, but I'm not advising anyone to make that modification ;).
Thanks for tuning in! Appreciate you watching and your feedback here, some very insightful information. It’s been a pretty reliable saw as it does get used frequently. I would probably go with a different brand for my next upgrade though.
@@dbproductreviews6319 One other thing that came up in the comment section of another video reviewing the saw, but that went unanswered is the loosening of the blade fastening nut, something which you also smartly checked in your video!! If that happens, the blade will keep spinning on the arbor even after the motor stops, though it isn't so loose that it wobbles or gives more obvious visual cues. It's disconcerting when it happens, but it's not a defect of the saw, but a consequence of having an electric brake on the motor. (It happened to me not long after setting-up the saw, so I made sure to wipe the nut and washer with some alcohol to remove any oils that might have been applied at the factory to prevent corrosion during shipping, etc.) For folks new to electric saws, it is standard on any saw - table, circular, miter,... - that the bolt threads at the arbor are oriented so that the nut tightens itself on the arbor as the blade spins. That's why it is advised not to over-tighten the nut when installing blades b/c it isn't needed and can damage the blade's structural integrity (like over-tightening nuts on a car wheel). BUT, an electric brake on the motor opposes the forces at play when the rotation of the shaft suddenly stops. The centrifugal force of the blade will fight against the threads of the tightening nut when the brake engages. In other words, the blade wants to keep spinning when the brake quickly stops the arbor and that difference in inertia can gradually work to loosen the nut. TLDR; always a good idea to periodically check that the blade is secured tightly on the arbor!
I'm sorry, but that was not very helpful.
th-cam.com/video/PDB1tIUFxLc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pc8ritH5kFpyj9np try this one
I see a Walmart trip in my future....
i bought one it does not extend 15 feet, its about 10 feet long. If you include your body height it can reach 15 feet but that is very misleading
Realistically even if it could reach 15 feet, that would be extremely difficult to obtain any significant leverage at that length.
@@dbproductreviews6319 that doesn't change the fact that your statement is misleading or the manufactures claim.
@@davidparker7156 No need to take it that seriously. If it really concerns you, take it up with DeWalt lol. Thanks for watching.
great product review thank you for this
Thanks for watching! Glad you found this helpful.
Are there any updates to this?? I just got this from amazon and going to try it this weekend. Was just curious how it turned out for you and what the process looks like.
Hi Denise! Thanks for watching. What area are you in? I think this stuff works great as a pre and post emergent, you get a lot with it especially if you have a lot of ground cover weeds like ivy, wild violet, clover or crabgrass too. It’s got three of the top weed killer ingredients, and it goes a long ways with its analysis of 22-0-4 as well. I liked to apply this early in the morning when there had been rain or the lawn has been watered a day or two prior and make sure rain is not expected within the following 24 hours after application. I also like to apply evenly horizontally and vertically to ensure even and thorough coverage. Crabgrass starts to turn purple in a few days if you have it.
Nice
Thanks for watching! Enjoy that.
Thanks. Very helpful. I have the same saw and didn’t realize you could adjust that
Hi Jared. Thanks for watching. Glad you found this helpful! Let me know if it works.
This is a maintenance item listed in the manual. Mine has lasted almost 4 years but has suddenly stopped. Head ticks...
Really Cool !

And information on hpw the built.i. mic works for calls
Yes, The mian reason I bought iy ws the scanner. i use my phone right now as an alternative. Not ideal but it is OK , mediocre.
Great content.
Nicely done. Not sure why the electric window switch had to be removed as I was able to remove passenger door panel on 2017 without touching this.
Thanks for watching! It seems like removal is always so much easier than re-assembly.
It's customers like these why I no longer work in retail, nor ever will again.
lol thanks for watching! It’s all sarcasm and not a direct reflection of being a “type of customer”. Now, being directly rude to a a retail worker is a completely different level. Thanks for the comment as any positive or negative opinions on the matter certainly help the TH-cam algorithm.
Dies the lawn have to be wet to apply?
Does****
Does**
Can apply to dry or wet lawn. I typically like to apply right before or during a rainfall as long as it’s not a downpour.
Many thnx... Wtf instructions?!?! So simple yet it's literally like they HIDE the locking switch on the riving knife AND ship it in the wrong position.
Thanks for watching! Glad you found this helpful.
Thank you for this most helpful instructions. U rock man !
Hi Alexandra, Thanks for tuning in, I’m glad you found this helpful.
I just stopped going to Home Depot for wood or tile. Go to Lowes, they help you out right away. My local Home Depot has piss poor customer service. They can't be bothered to help you out. I took my business elsewhere.
Maybe it’s time to buy your own saw instead of relying on someone else to do your work? Just saying…
Lol its supposed to be sarcasm and not taken too seriously here…but its not always practical to maneuver 4x8 sheets of plywood around unless I want to rip them down in the parking lot, but since that’s not the best option, I’ll spend a few minutes waiting to cut.
You could try 'Turf Titan Lawn Striper' (a liquid) or 'Ironite' to get a darker green color to the lawn. I've read better reviews for the Turf Titan Lawn Striper. And if you wanted to overseed some of the bad areas or lime green sections you could look for a better blend of 50/50 or 80/20 Kentucky Blue / Perennial Rye. I had a big disappointment this Spring with my new lawn that was seeded last fall with a premium 50/50 Sunny mix seed, (Kentucky Blue/ Perennial Rye). My lawn has a yellow cast to it because of all of the perennial ryegrass stems and stalks... I hate looking at it!! (But this is a natural occurrence this time of year with seed head development and stalks)
Thanks for watching, where are you tuning in from? I've always wanted to try some of those products from Turf Titan. So hard to know what to use for overseeding, because I have a variety of blends from mostly fine fescue/rye as well as half shaded and half sun. I was thinking Jonathan Green seed this Fall. I totally agree, I hate looking at the perennial stems, it's just such an eye sore and I want to rip them all out.
@@dbproductreviews6319 ... I'm thinking about overseeding this fall with Jonathan Green Blue Panther, KBG. I might try the pre-germination method. TY. Williamsville, N.Y.
Try buying blades you’ll want to use the saw on your wrist
I need a recommendation. I have a ryobi p506 saw with laser, but the motor is burned out. The motor on Amazon costs 45 dollars to do the repair. The saw that you have in the video, on Amazon, costs me about 53 dollars.
This saw is totally worth it! How long have you had the p506 model to where it burned out?
You said I dont like it at the end of your video 😂
Do I need to move the mulching?
For sure! And rough up the soil around the base of the trunks while you’re at it for easy fertilizer and water penetration.
Do you know if you can add the Werner stabilizer?
Great question! I honestly don't know for sure, but I think I've seen some using the attachment with this style of ladder.
I hit creeping charlie last year every two weeks, back this year again! Never dies! I used this, said two oz per gallon, depending on what kind of grass, but idk what lind of grass i have….so.. i do 2 oz/gallon. You do 5oz?
Hi Cindy, Thanks for watching. What region are you in? I have a little more of this as well, doesn’t seem nearly as bad as last year. I typically go a little stronger than what’s recommended, especially for those nuisance ground cover weeds. If that doesn’t work, you may want to try Speedzone, Mesotrione, or Tenacity. Those are some stronger herbicides available on Amazon and maybe even a smaller box store or two.
