Thanks JR for answering my Q about layouts and using the no# 60x5x60 as a example, and not going into a pro shop and saying I need my ball like JR’s but rather going in their as using the no#’s that you say and using my pap.. thanks JR, your the man
I’m relatively new to competitive bowling and I’m just in awe of how you’ve come to learn all of this! I’m absolutely horrible at math and anything to do with numbers...
Pin down symmetrical layouts worked because they were usually accompanied by a low weight hole. Cant do that as of August next year. Pin down symmetrical without a weight hole is a doink machine for most bowlers.
In researching the dual angles for a refresher, I came across this video. Normally my equipment is 60X5X40 (Zen and Master). I am going to get the Soul and thought about various possible angle changes. Would going 60X4X40 give this difference to me and what type of change would it be? I do have the GEM, so by adding this to my bag, my hope is that I will have balls to choose from no matter the lane conditions. Left handed 60 year old with about 250-300 rev rate and a 7 degree tilt or less.
I am in the process of getting a Prism Hybrid . The Pro shop which has drilled 3 other balls acceptable plans on drilling the Prism 70 by 5 by 20 with the pin below and outside the ring finger. My PAP is 5 1/5 by 3/8 up. I have a medium track and at 77yrs the speed tends to be slower. What would your expectations for the ball with this layout?
Chuck Ridgley That is correct for those numbers. Sharp down lane. Don’t be afraid of adjusting the surface if the ball motion through the pins isn’t just right.
JR, have you drilled any 1.75 or 2" pins from pap? Same amount of flare as a 5 or 5.25 pin but a smoother shape and often times more continuation (if there is such a thing)>>>>>
JR, thanks for your great video and I watch them soon after posting. But, I have a question for ya. In your videos on “DUAL ANGLE DRILLINGS” you have changed your pap location. On the “Web” U used 1 1/2” up, on the “CHAOS” U used 1 3/8” up and on the “WILD STREAK” U used 1” up. Just curious as to why your “PAP” location is coming down? Hand position? Or something else. Thanks.
How do you get a PAP for a bowler transitioning from conventional to fingertip? I've heard that rolling a plastic ball gives the truest indication of PAP. Which suggests to me, drilling a plastic ball "straight up" and then checking PAP.
i keep hearing people say that the first angle doesn't matter on a symmetrical ball but nobody does an angle of 0, for once id like to see that point proven with a 0 angle
as no ones pap is the same if you put same lay out on it and core was in completely different position would this not give you a different ball reaction, because how the mass has been taken out of core and how the core is positioned relative to your pap?
Hey jr, there’s this user with the username HowTo Comics who is just replying nonsense to people including “go back to high school and get a diploma” and “you suck at bowling”. Just letting you know

Thank you for explaining about dual angle layouts. I have a question about 2handed bowlers. Could you do a video on layouts for a 2handed bowler?
Can't wait to see the phaze 3 n ty for information on the pin system I didn't know it best to use the numbers n postive access point
its a lie
Shoutout to Mason Brantley and BowlerX. Great work guys!

Any chance of a layout video for no thumb bowlers? The only ones available are very hard to understand and follow

I would check that layout. Those numbers will not put the pin below and beside your ring finger.
Have your driller show you before drilling.
70x5x20 should be a skid snap type of shape. 5" pin to pap will push the breakpoint further down the lane as well.
The pin position is more of an assumption. Where would you expect it to be? The layout looks like a very sharp angle (hockey stick).
Chuck Ridgley That is correct for those numbers. Sharp down lane. Don’t be afraid of adjusting the surface if the ball motion through the pins isn’t just right.
take your shoes off so you can add that high. BTW bowl sober be safe.

no label drill pin above fingers or you will suck!
What’s your thoughts on Mo,s 90x2 1/4x45 layout? Ever tried it?
JR what was your exact dual angle layout on that hero video I love the reaction you were getting and I would like to buy one and get that layout on it
I know on here you said 6 in but what were the other two

HowTo Comics what is wrong with you
Were these the two balls you used with the money badger this weekend at oak lanes?
house and white dot the place sucks.
@@howtocomics9499 what the fuck is your problem?
Just bought one of the jerseys tonight

find an old rubber ball and get it plugged conventional. Best shot ever.
How is 5 stronger? My arsenal gets really weak over 4 1/2
Wat you mean by really weak ?
i keep hearing people say that the first angle doesn't matter on a symmetrical ball but nobody does an angle of 0, for once id like to see that point proven with a 0 angle
Try 55x4 1/2 x 45 on your next hybrid ball. Unless you're a low track bowler that layout should be better than the weak 5 inch pin to pap layouts.
I just bought this ball as my first bowling ball. I’m a two handed lefty bowler. How should I get my ball drilled?
quit bowling you suck
@@howtocomics9499 You quit bowling you suck. JUST FUCKING LEAVE THEM ALONE!
Maybe you try 5x5x2.5
When u drill out the pin, do U void the warranty on the ball with the manufacturer???
No only when you drill part of it out. It's all or nothing
no but use a white dot and do your best
as no ones pap is the same if you put same lay out on it and core was in completely different position would this not give you a different ball reaction, because how the mass has been taken out of core and how the core is positioned relative to your pap?
t zone label drill fits your game
My local proshops just throw holes in a ball and call it good
you suck
Same tho. That always say “this is super strong “ as well

My ball would move 5 boards if I laid my ball out 60x5x60.. you and those high numbers lol
