A park ranger’s selfie with two gorillas went viral after he shared it on social media. Mathieu Shamavu, ranger and caretaker in the Senkwekwe Center for Orphaned Mountain Gorillas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has revealed how he captured the shot.
He said that the primates like mimicking everything that happens around them. They also treat the rangers and caretakers as family.

The gorilla standing on the left her name was Ndakasi. She was 14 years old she breathed her last in the arms of her caretaker and lifelong friend in the park. She was going through an illness in which her condition rapidly deteriorated 💔

I had a teacher who was a primatologist, and one of the things he told us was that you never want to wrestle with the chimpanzees (or gorillas, in this case). By default, they assume you are stronger than them because you are taller. But if you continue to horse around with them, they'll soon figure out that you're weak af, and they'll start bossing you around.

These are female gorillas, probably still kind of young. Gorillas are a lot less aggressive than chimpanzees, too. Only a fool would wrestle a male chimp!
