- Why are there so many coins in the river? That is a question we get every week! This video we find a bunch of old coins in the river, so I answer that question! Steve, Mark, and I head out to one of our favorite rivers that we call Silver River. Seems like we always find old silver coins here. This trip didn't disappoint. We find a few AMAZING Relics as well!

People tend to forget the canals and waterways were once used on a constant basis to transfer goods and commodities, and they could be a treasure trove when searched in the right places. If you live anywhere along one of the main canal routes of the past, it’s worth doing some test digs in the area.
Kurt, dont worry about those guys who think yall aint hunting right. Or thinks u plant stuff. Ive been watching for a while now and know u guys are genuine. Keep it up guys!
@@EricTheRed23 thanks Eric
Awesome spot this week! Congrats on the spanish silver and the cross cannons pin! Great job guys!
Those cannons... got me fired up. Nice going guys
Outstanding day guys. What a great spot. Lots of great coins and relics. I love the crossed cannons pin with the regiment number. I dug one of those this last spring and gave it to the home owners to thank them for letting me detect their yard numerous times.
The regiment on mine was “102”
I believe you guys do this more for the excitement of the hunt, so as much as you / we wish everything you find is in perfect condition, just finding it is enough. The quality is merely a bonus after that! Thanks for sharing what you do!!
Mark is working on his "Bobby live digs" in the blooper reel 🤣 would LOVE to see a bottle dig with Billy Bottles sometime soon!
@@derbyfreak8183 That would be nice! Bill wants to play. Wish he'd heal up
@@thehooverboys me too! Definitely miss him and the boys. I hope everyone is doing good, God bless you all.
@@derbyfreak8183 Appreciate it! We all miss the old days, but the guys are around. Just busy doing other things
@@thehooverboyssay hi to Bob, Billy, Leo ,Smiley ,Smileys bro..can’t remember his name lol 😝 Muck, B Rad and Gary 🫡‼️
Oh and 44 Baby 🤣🤣‼️
Love the camel, so cute. The tiny eagle, too. I agree the one mystery item looks like a flag holder.
So glad water digs are back. Keep them coming!
Superb day and very enjoyable to watch. That salt shaker top looks like Colonial high quality pewter one and the George II coin was incredible and those crossed canons are awesome and good to see Smiley and that crazy art on his back. Keep them finds coming brothers
Kurt, from what I found, the Cross Cannon artillery pin is from around 1902.
@@chrisanderson9856 that's what I gathered as well
Excellent Hunt. Kurt the Holed Reale Shoe Buckle and tiny Button Congrats. The 39 Regament Cross Cannon Pin very nice. Muck Love the ShakerThat Beautiful Copper. Congrats on the Rosie. Smiley Congrats on the Buttons. Take Care everyone
Great finds ! Great to see Smiley out.
Let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
At first I thought it said Gold Coins Everywhere! Regardless, keep up the Great content! I’ve listened to you guys for years now. I even listen without watching sometimes just to laugh with you.
Smiley is dedicated for sure. Nice tattoo from the quick glance. We need a shorts video of a close up of the tattoo.
@@GrantMcIntosh great idea
That 39th Field Artillery hat pin is awesome. I was with the 37th FA for 7 years, with two combat tours.
@steelrain4362 wow! Thank you for your service
Yay thanks for another great adventure guys! Smiley!!
Those crossed cannons are great.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@karenmassie1239 thank you
I believe is the 39th field artillery pin from WW2
You said it best- a great day on the water! Finds were plentiful and a bunch of nice relics as well, but Muck's KG II was stunning- can't recall seeing a better copper come out of the water!
I believe mucks flag pole holder is a whiffletree tip for a buggy harness. awesome video!!!
Awesome finds guys! I love that tattoo on Smileys back.
Very awesome day.
I wasn’t surprised when you said you were beat. I was tired just watching. Wonderful day!!
Great finds, that one KG 2 Mark found was SICK! Nice to see Smiley out on the water with you guys too. Congratulations on all the great finds, good luck on your next hunt 👍
Nice hunt, great to see Smiley again!
I have a pretty decent arrowhead collection and I would say roughly 80% or so of them were found in a creek bed in Amite County, Mississippi.
Some neat finds 👍🍻
i know i have said it before, but thanks for making videos every week and bonus videos from the mentalHD channel. We love both! We also know it takes a lot of job to do what you do, so again. Thanks so much from early-fan from Norway. We miss the other guys and look forward to see them in a video or two this summer :)
Always love the river videos. But, today’s was extra special with Smiley.
Another super interesting video!....Suggestion how about a contest where ONE of your subs is invited to go out for a day with you guys? Of course he will have to be close BUT. SURE WOULD MAKE THAT SUBS DAY!!! Just a thought!
Hi guys ,thats a butter knife, great things out there.
Fun day guys and beautiful finds, your all a blast, keep digging, 💘👍🙏
What a variety of finds, keep squeezing as much as you possibly can outta that spot!😎👍
Awesome finds! Always love watching!
Anither great day! Thanks for taking us along.
Love the videos y'all.... Ty so much 🙏
Your pin is a 1902-1905 artillery collar pin, I found a 197th battery coastal artillery just like it here in Massachusetts a few years back in an old city park. Cool find
@@baystateplugflipper7061 Awesome! Thanks
The thing with the handle in the wrap up reminds me of a powder measure. Not sure, but I've seen it somewhere!
Some nice finds and so glad you are happy today. I like the field artillery crossed cannons pin, that is history for sure. Have a great day
Hey Smiley. Beautiful copper Muck. Great variety of finds you guys. Muck fumbled at the end, too funny 😂
Nice finds, but no hummer this week. Thanks
@@bogipepper hahaha
Awesome hunt!!! Thanks for taking us along!!!
Hey Kurt, I'm pretty sure your artillery cap pin is going to be 1870s to around 1900, Indian Wars/Spanish American War era. What an awesome find!
Great finds as always. Thanks for sharing!!!
Great hunt guys you made my Wednesday thanks for sharing 😊
That’s the old school highway where you find everything.
Awesome stuff guys!!
Amazing finds!!
Awesome water hunt! Thank you for sharing
Good morning from Shreveport. Good episode 👍
Proof that great minds think alike. Muck’s sifter looks just like the one I built. I used white zip ties. I only wish that mine had the same kind of finds on it
@@davidraines1380 hahaha!
Nice finds. Cool cross cannons...and smiley.. cool ink job...b safe and keep digging ✌️
NICE FINDS BOYS...I JUST LOVE THAT COBALT BLUE COLOR!!!
The cannons, button, coins! Way to go boys!
That little Navy button could have been from a hat strap, maybe, but I think the round lead think Muck found is a bottle stopper. I found one a few years ago with a big X marked across it. Great hunt! Lots of cool stuff. Pretty sure they're from eroded shoreline. Most rivers here on the shore have lost hundreds of feet since colonial times. Thanks!
awesome hunt !
Fantastic finds today!
Nice video treasures, Congrats, guys 👊
Always enjoy the boys
Great relics guys! Congrats to all of you!
@@joemiller8965 thanks!
You guys make this look fun.
Good day guys. Keep up the good work. Stay safe. See ya next time.
Those cannons are amazing! I believe they are actually Spanish-American War era or just after. It looks like the pins on the M1902 visor cap. Awesome finds as always!
We need a video with the whole crew in the river b-rad , Billy, Bobby, I want the full og crew and is muck ever gonna do a face reveal or is this like home improvement he is gonna neighbor us til the last episode lmao ?? Keep up the great vids much love from Tennessee
@@dl88c17 haha! That would be great
24:00 That would be a civil war navy cuff button very nice find!
The 39 cannon pin is awesome ! Great hunt guys !!
Awesome hunt guys thanks!!!!!
@@charlieschemmel122 thank you!
Lots of good loot!
Good morning/afternoon, hoover boys
Hey Smiley!!!! LOVE THE HOOVER BOYS
Awesome, guys. Next time, gold.
If it's as hot up there as it is here in Alabama I'd be doing river hunts too.
Love that cross canon piece.
Great show. You've pretty much taken the lion share of my
"Wet Detecting" TH-cam viewing. Now I have to look up wizzer. 👍
Love the river hunting my buddy just found a huge spear point one of the nicest I’ve ever seen someone offered him a lot of cash for it !
@@markkus1134 That's awesome!
Wow. This is an early ep. Awesome hunt!
@@axxwound1205 Hey bro! I don't want to be too predictable.
Over here in England we find a lot of what we call George coppers ( George I and II and III and III ) from fields and parks but amazingly my best condition George copper half penny I have ever found come from a beach. 🙂.
Cool relics
maybe a Powder measure for Marks tube w/ handle ?
Good vid and nice to see Smiley !
Washing clothes in river makes sense coins lost. My great aunt used to ride a horse and wagon to a river and wash clothes there boiling soapy water in a metal
kettle
Nice Dig Kurt Muck & SmileY!!😁
Nice looking board
Butter knife Kurt I have one made of silver that looks identical in shape and style.
I started keeping all of my metal to run to the scrap yard. Especially copper brass and bronze...you can make some serious cash with just a 5 gallon bucket full.
I think that the whizzer copper you found at 2:30 is an Irish George the third half penny. I think I can make out a crown near the top center on the side without the big clump of green on it
Something in that spot is causing some incredibly well-preserved items. Maybe there is a very clear spring feeding in just up stream keeping salts and acids away from the metal? Maybe it's the composition of the soils and silts of the river bottom there? Maybe it's the volume of junk in the area shielding things under it? Whatever it is, KEEP HITTING THAT PLACE! You had a nearly complete shoe buckle, Mark's almost perfectly preserved coin, the crossed cannon piece that still had the damn PIN on it... I'm telling you, 99% of the time those things don't come out of a river that old and in that good of shape, and you found a cluster of them. Something special is happening there, take advantage of it! (I also think that tiny eagle button is a cuff button). :)
The 39 pin is my favorite!
Thought that fish knife was kinda cool! Not something you see everyday!
@@wiseguysoutdoors2954 thanks! Me too
Hey Kurt and gang, hope to run into you on the river this summer.
I have a few spots to check out, north of the bridge.
If Smiley starts a band will it be called....Nippleback?
I found clock pieces and they are from the 1860's-1870's.
Those clock frames are likely from mantle clocks.
Nice tat Smiley !
Thank u
The small navy button may have come from a officers cap
I’m pretty sure that is to weigh out gunpowder grains for either canons or muskets.
So cool, at least to me that the holes in the coin are different sizes bc back then they 1. They didn't care and 2. Did it by hand
I’m surprised you haven’t found alot of native this year. The 39th field artillery is WW1
@@jeffmcgrath2202 haven't sifted for them. I'd like to soon
The last spot looked like an old dump washed into the river that was used a very long time.
I can't believe you aren't using the LEGEND yet... I suggest using the smaller sniper coil when and if you do... Easy swinging and covers ALMOST as much as the bigger coils.... PLEASE TRUST MY ADVICE! 🙏
For old dudes it’s so much nicer hunting water. So much easier. I gotta get out. Haven’t been in years.
The 39 Cross canan is for field artillery.
