I’m a sociologist, so I’m always interested in the PEOPLE involved in a hobby. It would be interesting to get Harry’s take on the different categories of stackers/collectors in precious metals and any trends over time or among groups that he has noticed.

I'm one stacker that stacks in preparation for God's plan to *TAKE BACK WHAT IS HIS.* He warns His kids & the wicked in Haggai 2:8, *"The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine, declares the Lord of hosts."* Then God instructs us further in Proverbs 13:22 by encouraging His kids that, *"...the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up."* So my stacking adventure is knowing that my Father God in heaven *HAS BIG PLANS* that 99% will be surprised by. This is my mindset, brother.

@@lawrencecole6527 I considered doing some research on the community, but figured access would be an issue, given how people are understandably wary of sharing information about their involvement with precious metals. But just from casual observations, there seem to be so many different and identifiable segments within the hobby, with different goals, customs, and behaviors. And I imagine a lot of those track onto demographics like age, class, and definitely political leanings. Some very interesting stuff.

Topic suggestion:: "Buy the book before you buy the coin" Get each of the guys to bring in a coin book they consider a good/worthwhile purchase. Whether its something like a price guide or maybe a book on the history of minting. But I'd love to see what they'd recommend.

A topic I would like to see is about collecting coins: coins in holders vs raw coins. I think it's no secret in Europe we tend to not care so much for coins in holders and particulary the grading of coins, whereas in the US it seems to be all about the grades. I would love to hear Harry's/Adrian's/Richard's opinion on the whole grading/slabs or just raw coins discussion.

    • @FustFPV
      @FustFPV 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

most "grading" companies like coins to collectible card grading companies are american.
It is a service export they are trying to sell as any profits they see from that industry results in money coming into the country from outside countries.
It is simply world consumerism at its finest and they want everyone else to get into it so more foreigners start paying american companies to grade their stuff so america can then profit off the tax of the international sales.

Maybe some topics for a future video: 1. What coins are really selling well as far as Numismatic value is concerned or in other words what are people collecting most (Morgan's, error xoins, type coins ,rare coins etc..)? 2. How do coin shops like Harrys purchase coins, wholesale, private collectons, estate.sales etc..3. You have a lot of great deals on.beachcity auctions including rarer coins how are youu able to afford the losses, or is the auction mainly to increase your cash flow so better purchases can be.made with better sales resulting?

I would love to see a show done on in-home security. I would obviously never ask where you keep your personal stacks or collectibles in your home - but you could preface everything with... "I've heard of it done this way", or "I've heard it said & I agree that this might be a really good place to house a safe" or nook & cranny to simply stick items in, e.t.c.. For some of us the old, more than "in-your-face" obvious "bedroom" might be the only place that comes to mind!😂
But it is still a serious topic & you don't seem to be opposed to truly, actually helping us😁
Thanks so very much for being there for us!!!❤

Firstly, I'm so grateful that I discovered this channel. Your videos are top notch with information shared that is close to error free, levels beyond 6 sigma, lol. (I wonder how many 9's that would be 😆) Having said that, perhaps an idea for future shows would be discuss a bit on hedging, i.e. longing/shorting/straddling precious metals positions not only for speculative purposes, but for purposes of managing cash flow based on inventory and dates of sales. After viewing a few videos, it is my understanding that Harry & Team really don't get into this type of stuff as they "make their living in the spread" (Idea for show # 2: Discuss more on the spread), but any insight from these coin super-minds would be extremely helpful. Thank you for considering. Sincerely, Media Pro.

I asked myself the question, my answer is: (for what it's worth) I prefer precious metal coins that are non numismatic, You don't have to pay an extra premium for an intangible value, something that might go out of fashion like stamps, teapots, Franklin Mint plates, baseball cards, Beany Babies and the like. Baby boomers are disappearing and the new generations coming don't seem to be as interested in collector items. An ounce of pure gold or silver should remain the base of a serious investment portfolio. Numismatics should remain a hobby item.

This might be a fairly covered topic already but I haven't seen anything and that's "what's a fair premium?" Obviously that depends a lot on the product but are there general percentages for certain types of products?
For example, I popped in my local shop the other day and they were selling 1oz silver Kruger Rands for $40 when spot was in between $29 and $30. American silver eagles were over $40, I think $41-$42, constitutional half dollars were a few dollars over spot when buying $1 face value and I asked them what they were buying .999 generic silver rounds for, they said about $25, so $4 under spot.
On buying I could find better deals online, and factoring in shipping, all you have to do is buy a few pieces to make the deal, factoring shipping in, better than the store. It wasn't always like that there either 🤷‍♀️

No. Get graded morgans from after 1978 but before 1921. A lot only had mints of 10 million. Theyre not going to get any. Cheaper. If you buy a 2007 proof coin its not got any serious value for 100 years compared to a coin thats no longer minted it only had 10 million made in a certain mint in a certain year 140 years ago so a lot probably didnt make it things like housefires meltings and circulation etc. Domt buy a proof version of a modern coin that holds value close to spot buy a decent quality old coin like a morgan because its value is potentially going to go up more in comparison

I think what would interest me the most, would be the fractional Gold (especially Eagles). Obviously the premiums are much higher on the smaller increments, but what most people, especially nowadays can afford due to the higher price of Gold, might like to know is what type of premium would they be able to recoup on resale? If you have to pay $2,524+ for an ounce of Gold in 1/4 oz increments, what would dealers most likely pay you for them? Same for 1/10 oz being $2,675+ for that same oz of Gold?
