Jason in Freddy vs Jason is one of the best portrayals of Jason. I like that he towers over Freddy and Ken Kirzinger did an excellent job. They also did a great job making Jason “the one to root for” by having a more sympathetic backstory, even though he’s also a killer. Also Jason’s brown coat is adapted in a lot of toys, video games, and artwork, despite only being in FVJ

    1) Hellraiser 2 is more interesting to me than OG Hellraiser and the locations are way cooler in 2 tbh.
    2) Jason X has one of the most iconic death scenes in it even if you dont count the sleeping bag v tree death. He literally grabs a lady by the hair, dunks her face in this liquid nitrogen shit that freezes her face, then bashes it on the side of a counter and it all just crumbles off. I have a lot of hot takes.
    1. The babadook sucks, it isnt scary AT ALL. I literally went to sleep watching it.
    2. While on that topic, horror should scare you, it should keep you up at night so any “horror”movie that doesnt isnt good.
    3. Seed of chucky started all the wacky problems chucky series has now. Its terrible, childs play 3 is the best.
    4. James wan is the best modern horror director and its not close. He doesnt have a bad horror movie.
    5. All the remakes are better than the originals, nightmare on elm street, friday the 13th, ESPECIALLY texas chainsaw massacre 2003 and The beginning, and rob zombies halloween. The old movies simply arent scary and the acting is worse. The new ones add backstory, which makes them more interesting. I like knowing how jason gets from place to place so fast as well as why the cannibals in texas chainsaw massacre eat ppl.
    6. On that topic, ppl who say backstory “demystifies” the killer are just wrong and i can prove it…serial killer documentaries are only popular BECAUSE ppl want backstory.
    7. Any film made before 1980 is automatically not scary and idk how ppl back then got creeped out whatsoever.
    8. Stephen king doesnt make horror…he makes weird. By that i mean nothing he does makes sense nor is scary, its more sci fi than horror. Nobody will go to sleep wondering if christine the car will kill them.
    9. Scream is the most overrated franchise ever, the plot is ppl die and you find out its multiple killers at the end…literally every movie.

I do think there is some dated things but the movie translated the book so well and made it even better by showcasing Carrie's POV over the other characters. Instead of simply being a talking point, shes a fleshed out tragic figure and Sissy Spacek gives an all timer performance.

And if Salvation could’ve shown an awesome version of the future that they were always talking about the the first trilogy, and then worked this into a new trilogy with some sort of time loop happening by the end. That would’ve been perfect for the franchise and it could’ve ended there.

I've got a hot take I think Laurie Strode is one of the most overrated final girls ever listen I don't think she's a bad final girl by any means but when comparing her to characters like Nancy & Sidney she has a lot of flaws. My main problem is how inconsistent she is because her in the original, the second one and H20 I really like those are my favourite versions of her but then you get her in RZ Halloween 2 where she is an annoying drunken moron who is constantly in you're face. But then there's her in the most recent trilogy who is pretty much a worse version of Sarah Connor and in Ends she suddenly has gotten over the trauma Michael has given her and the fact that he killed her daughter like B***h What?! You had a like 40 year obsession with him and now you make pies. Listen in a Halloween film when she's good she's really good but she just has a lot of problems that the average Halloween fan just glosses over. Also if you make another one of these videos may you please include my comment in it.

I maintain that the acting in the original TCM is realism. Maybe they're not experienced actors, but they're very effective for the material they're given. Their acting is distinct from that found in other low-budget horror films from the era, namely The Last House on the Left and The Hills Have Eyes. The Last House on the Left is an unwatchable film in which (among many, many, many, to the power 20 other flaws), a couple finds their daughter murdered and can barely work up any emotion at all. Perhaps, if the actors in TCM were compelled to act in such a scene, they would have humiliated themselves, too. However, as it is, the simplicity of TCM keeps their performances realistic. They merely need to act first like youths in a grounded setting, then like people trapped in an utterly terrifying situation, and they do it effectively.

Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 isn't just a copy and paste of the original. It wanted to bring in new ideas and concepts that the studio scrapped in favor of making it more like the original. Had the studio not interfered, the films reception would've been more along the lines of F13 '09 and TCM '03.

Stephen King is spot on: Kubrick’s The Shining is a big, beautiful Cadillac with no engine. I find it big, bloated and overrated with terrible acting. Jack Nicholson is one of the all time greats, and watching him ham it up mercilessly makes me want to cry.

I agree that it is a very empty movie. And that's why it's one of the best horror films ever. That emptiness is so unsettling, and makes it one of the few films that have scared me. I also don't think the acting is bad, I think it is goofy while being scary at the same time. But I do understand why someone wouldn't like it, especially if they aren't huge on Kubrick's style

The idea of horror movie franchises never ending is similar to the life of theatre presentations. Every year or so, there's a new Hamlet or Les Miserables or Hedda Garbler...
The ambitions may not be as lofty, or "worthy", but if I can have some definitive jumping on/off points... All the better.

    Hot take:
Saw didn’t need a sequel. It was an interesting concept and the twist worked very well. That should have been the end of it.
My horror preference is psychological (the ring) over gore (hostel) so I’m sure that’s where my hot take comes from, but honestly jigsaw doesn’t need apprentices. It doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Scream 6 is the worst movie in the franchise. I've never seen a movie that I thoroughly enjoyed and had the ending just absolutely ruin it for me. The twist was dull. Bringing back kirby was pointless. She really didn't do anything meaningful in the movie. How does a police detective that is specialized in Ghostface murderers not realize that the police detective she is working alongside is the previous killers dad??? And don't even get me started on the stupidity of the scene where detective Bailey, who has a loaded gun, charges sam, who has a knife. I damn near walked put of the movie theater when I saw that scene.

As someone who was a fan of the Andromeda tv series at the time I thought it was cool that Lexa Doig and Lisa Ryder kind of switched up the roles the played in the movies from the ones in Andromeda. Also I think Todd Farmer is kind of funny and I don’t know why he hasn’t become more prominent than he is.
