There are two name versions for this Icelandic Yule Lad. It can be Skyrgámur or Skyrjarmur. You can read more about it here - islensktalmanak.wordpress.com/skyrgamur-eda-skyrjarmur/
Yay! First, 2 days in a row! It’s just lunchtime in Seattle, Jewells. 🤚🏽 I’m going to start reading out loud for 5 minutes a day (learning Cherokee and Norwegian)-I see how your pronunciation had gotten smoother over this series. 🤔
Yay, I am finally caught up on this series! Interesting interpretation of Skyrjarmur.! I will let him ALL the skyr with NO problem. They sell it at all the grocery stores where I am in the US. I think it must be an acquired taste. Thanks!
I would like to file a formal complaint that there is not enough true Icelandic skyr in the US!! 😅 It’s one of my favorite parts of coming to Iceland. This is Yule Lad is my spirit animal ❤
If this weren't about Yule *Lads*, I'd suspect that Skyrjarmur is actually my sister. Throughout her teenage years, if you wanted to get hold of her, all you had to do was put a pot of yogurt in the fridge and five minutes later she'd be there complaining that you'd bought the wrong one!
I have tried a little bit of Skyr, but I find the unflavoured/plain skyr is a bit sour. I would be curious to try a flavoured one, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.

You’ll be Skyrjarmur’s favorite person ever 😂
What more could I wish for? 😊
Even in Belgium I only buy Isey Skyr for breakfast! I love it so much!
Awesome!

Many Icelanders would eat plain skyr with added blueberries and sugar. Might make it more palatable for you. Some also add cream.
Yes, I think adding flavors to it is usually what is preferred. I can understand not liking just the plain one.
