Learned where my filter was on my 03 odyssey change it and now shifts like butter again so far its good before it was going no where just had manual had to shift it in first gear to go so i change the filter and cleaned the banjo lines out with a cleaner put new washer and did a transmission cooler to separate it from the radiator never known that there was a external transmission filter I was ready to save up money to get a new transmission but I found that out and tried it I mean what could it hurt either it works or don't work I got the filter for 38 bucks at the local auto parts store now I want to go on a hunt broken down car Hondas with transmission problems it might just be the filter to make quick flips😊 good luck to everyone much love ❤
Great video! If you're having trouble with transmission intermittently would this be a 1st option. Not very trusting of some of these transmission repair shops and honda accord too old for replacement. My fluid is red and correct level. Thanks for your thoughts...
Yes, definitely, changing this filter can make a world of difference. But in your case, an intermittent problem can be related to something electrical I.E. a shif solenoid or speed sensor. Some of these transmissions have an external filter in line with one of the transmission cooler lines at the radiator. A decent repair shop should be able to identify that. But some of the electrical issues can be tricky to diagnose. Thank you very much for watching ✌️♥️😁
I have a 2002 Honda Accord 3.0 liter engine, v6. Are you saying this video is applicable to my vehicle? I'd love to be able to replace the filter, if possible. My mechanic and Auto Zone told me the filter is internal and not replaceable without breaking down the transmission.
@@MM-gf5vm for my model year it seems there is only the internal which requires re and re. I just put a remove PH8A filter inline so I can easily change it frequently.
@@richardgarcia4843 Yes, at least the external will catch a lot more than the internal. People have put hundreds of thousands of miles with original filters.
One of the most ‘straight to the point’ videos I have seen on YT. Thanks!
Thanks Sir, I do very much appreciate your time and watching this video

Nice video but what year/generation Accord are you working on? It's not a 6th generation 6 cylinder.
Thanks William
Thanks for watching Romeo ❤
How about year??…. My hell

What year is this accord?
What kind of air compressor do you have in your shop?
Not to be racist its a black max lol. 😂
@@willfixit5346 if you ever decide to upgrade, you should keep your eyes open for a Quincy 350. Those things would last a lifetime
Where is this filter on a 2002 Honda Accord with a 2.3 litre engine? This seems to be a V-6

@@MM-gf5vm he is correct for that year
@@MasterFastSystem amigo pero el interno seguirá tapado!

Is that 7th gen accord and which transmission is it?
Not sure. I do know the other one has the external filter
@@willfixit5346 yes thanks, I don't know my vehicle history but going into gear on any incline and it slams into the selected gear
Quisiera ver un video donde le cambien el filtro a un HONDA ACCORD 2002 motor en línea 2.3
There isn't one. That transmission has an internal filter. All you can do is remove and clean out the solenoids and change the transmission fluid
@vette4118 very thanks
