Veteran sim racer but just started iracing two weeks ago. Wow, I had no clue about practice and quali counting towards SR - super helpful tips thank you.
You should have noted that the only practice that actually affects the SR is the shorter one after joining the race session. "Normal" practice sessions that run for longer don't impact SR.

I love the fact that getting rear ended gets you the exact same punishment as the guy behind you...amazing system!! I got 10x incidents last race and i was responsible for none of it.

If you're using iOverlay and have the track overlay enabled, you can tell when the session is still live because the circles representing the cars are still moving on the track map. When they stop moving, after the last car crosses the finish line, you know that you can stop driving, and safety rating is no longer affected. Then you can reset to the pits and go through the replays where you discover that, oh, it was actually me that caused that crash, not the car I was raging at for the whole race.

Great tips man it's crazy how many people do not know this and is out in the practice before the race messing around getting incident points
Its also quiet counterintuitive to assume practice has effect on the points system…. In life practice usually means your mistakes dont have effect because u are learning something for the first time…

someone told me practice didnt count towards SR, no wonder my SR is absolute trash 💀💀💀
Do the practice sessions before you enter the race count?
Maybe they are faking it 😂 you got a laugh out of me. I'm also an fps gamer, it is crazy how much you can relate how you get better in racings vs fps games. I guess this applies to all things in life. You need to understand the rules, the techniques and then practice so you develop a skill. Thanks for the tips as usual. But is this still applicable now? Based on what I’ve read, they said no safety ratings get affected by practice and qualifying. Can you please confirm if that is still the case?
@GabrielBoulos safety rating has been as far I can remember definatlet counted during practice and qualifying, if you read the rules it should say it in there. So although you gain/lose at a lesser rate 25% of normal, it's still worth staying clean.

I'll title it better when I'm home, but I mean how to maximize SR, in a race, if you don't drive ALL of practice, quali, and live rave session, you'll never get the max SR.
