    “Music embodies feeling without forcing it to contend and combine with thought, as it is forced in most arts and especially in the art of words.”
    ― Franz Liszt

      @@noahhowey5642 Did you actually see the sheet music? Because there is nothing actually this hard (of course it is hard but not one of the most). Actually it's the tempo that Liszt put that make this piece nearly impossible.

    • @briandang5869
      @briandang5869 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well faster tempo means more precision to hit the notes and even with a lot of practice you are still prone to mistakes that might ruin the piece. Additionally some sections might be quite difficult to perform fast due to finger capabilities

    • @briandang5869
      @briandang5869 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For example the section at 1:40 on the right hand which could be very difficult if not impossible for some people at this fast of a tempo

  • @SirloucoPiano

    4:24 this section is insanely difficult. It's a disrespect to the pianist

    Ive been told that Liszt couldn't actually play this

    • @alidaoudi3269
      @alidaoudi3269 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      When he wrote it he couldn't play it himself, but if I'm not mistaken he came back to it 6 years later and finally learned to play it. But as Lisitsa suggested, it's not a piece you can learn only with practice, at one point it becomes a matter of luck when it comes to playing the right notes

    • @Bohh574
      @Bohh574 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Chris Waddle he could definitely play it. Lisitsa esagerate Liszt's problems with this piece to underline her success playing it, but Liszt could play harder things than this as his 1838 etudes, the douze grand etudes, his reminescense and his Beethoven's symphonies transcriptions

    • @fernandezjordan1585
      @fernandezjordan1585 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @pineapple7024
      @pineapple7024 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      He could play this pretty easily, actually. It’s just that nobody liked it because of its repetitive nature, so he never played it

    • @Roice-sq5wj
      @Roice-sq5wj 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No he could play it, liszt played it first to george sand and Berlioz, they liked it but even with praises, liszt just didn't had a chance to play the Rondo maybe because it wasn't a hit and he had other pieces intended as Bravura finale for his recitals back then. Although i ain't gonna lie the Piece is Terrifyingly Difficult, who knows maybe liszt did had a hard time playing it, but then again there's more of Bravura Pieces by liszt that are harder than this that he played so you never know.

      I don't think Liszt added a tempo marking. The direction is "Molto animato quasi presto" ("Very animated/lively, almost fast" when translated), and although it is pretty strict, it still depends on what you think is lively or fast.
