FYI absolutely no shade intended towards Grimfrost, I own that same linnen tunic XD Reminding you guys again that I do not stand behind the things implied in this video :)
Wonderful vid :) So many people will skip the talk in the beginning and go straight into believing every word of the thing. Most reenactors seem to forget that the absolute majority wore whatever keeped them warm. Simple weaves, knits and skins, tied up in culturally traditional ways, but probably not as homogenously fixed as ALWAYS seen in reenactments. The beautiful, stylized, dressed up full kits found in graves is from the very very small top economic layer of society. Being at the Medieval week in Visby, Gotland, is fun in all ways. But the amount of very very rich people (judging by the costumes) are extreme :)
@@mikaeliby387 Exactly! It very quickly becomes cosplaying the elites since obviously their attire is that which is best perserved, their graves are full of goods, the written sources speak of them. Clothing was first and formost a need for most people, just to have something to keep them warm as you said, not the pick and chose which we have in modern times :)
@@TheQueerVikingBro We´re on the same page I hear :) Another thing is how perfectly whole and clean reenactors always are, like they just stepped out of the tailors, very carefully. Good luck with that in times of no roadtops, no plumbing, animals everywhere and so on.
I'd like to like it, but there are no subtitles and I have bad "listening" for english, so, I don't understand anything! 😭😅 Anyways, good luck with the channel. 😅👍
@@TheQueerVikingBro Hahahaah! No problem. I don't know why there are no subtitles: a lot of your videos have them; must be something on the TH-cam system, but I don't know. Good luck; waiting for a new video, but patiently, because you have a real life and that's the priority. Cheers! 😊

This is so real sounding it's nuts!!
Haha right? That’s why I had to provide like 7 pages of text as context for this assignment 😅

@@bregnevakker5404 ah sorry! Are there no automated subtitles available? I think the idea is pretty clear even without the voice haha, but thank you!

@@bregnevakker5404 thank you! It will be out soon! I switched to Sunday uploading because it fits better with my schedule!
@@TheQueerVikingBro 😊👍
Queer viking bro lmao, you would have been killed during the viking age.
@@Ras438 ok? So would any modern human? You don't have the survival skills for the Viking Age either, you're not better.
