Most of the big scale articulated steamers need O-72 minimum radius curves. You can fit a loop with O-72 curves on a 7'x8' table with a little bit of straight sections in the middle, although O-84 would be ideal. I don't get much enjoyment from watching trains run in a small circle, which is why we're building the big layout in the basement.
