I'd just like to thank Alex's kids for documenting your dad.Alex we love how humble you are,you are a true bush canadian, bet you couldn't spend more than 3 days in Toronto.
Treminco...sounds like it’s got some kind of Cornish background, because hard rock miners came out from Cornwall, England to all over the world including Canada in the 1850s- 1900s. The counterweight at 11.18 is for the winder brakes.
very good videos alex and the kids seen a lot of things at con mine now that i could not see when i worked in yellowknife and we ate at con very good food was only a short distance from my work general motors dealer
my question is why the government has to pick up the bill for cleaning the mine and not the mining company? the taxpayers of canada have to pay for the clean up so this is some kind of subsidy to the mining company which got rich in the process while the miners got breadcrumbs.that's a crappy deal for all canadians
The way Alex described it is that they remove the gravel, trommel it and put the gravel back. That wouldn't require much for the govt to do except verify that the area is renewed with the existing dirt. I imagine Canada gets a very decent amount of taxes and user fees from these operations.
Well at least you know what your talking about , like drill core samples my cousin has a place in NZ which has a shed full of drill logs ,Money in the bank if someone wants to catalog them , Bring back Trump I’m a kiwi working in coal mines that love home cheers
They are NOT SPENDING MORE MONEY TO FIX THE MINE THAN WHAT WAS MINED!!! FIRST OFF THEY ARE SPENDING YOUR MONEY , HUGE DIFFERENCE, TO GIVE THEM AND THEIR LODGE BROTHER FRIENDS CONTRACTS WHICH WILL MAKE THEM RICHER THAN THE FEES TAKEN FROM THE MINING..., THEY ARE NOT SPENDING MORE MONEY TO DO ANYTHING, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY
Love listening to Alex, shame you stopped doing videos mate..

We need some of Alex's wisdom and wit today. We need more videos.
I enjoy your videos, Very informative. I hate to see things like this mining equipment senselessly destroyed.
Vandalism. Punks who destroy things makes me sick. They should be prosecuted and jailed.
Same here
