      Took a while, but I even found a solution to hiding the dead cat in the end. I promise, the videos do get better eventually!

    I'm just about to do this now with my Eberspacher heater. This is the only the video I have found for a VW T4. All the others are for a T5. At least I don't have to remove the fuel tank :). Thanks for the video.

      Glad it helped!
      I was in the exact same boat as you Kenny, nobody out there made one, so I thought 'sod it, how hard can it be?' - Turned out not that much, just time-consuming. I would recommend reading that link on this video though, it gives much more info.

    This is great. My diesel heater arrived today, but annoyingly the kit didn’t have a steel pickup to connect it to the original tank like you did. Ive just ordered one now on eBay and will will drilling into the fuel sender unit just as you have. Thanks for sharing

      Good luck with it Ben! They’re certainly a great job. Just make sure not to drop the feed line all the way to the bottom, wouldn’t want you stuck with no diesel 😂

      @@digitalnomadni yeah that was a useful tip about the feed line! Was hoping to install it down the side of my rock n roll bed, but annoyingly I think there’s a chassis trail right where I want to drill the outlets for the fresh air and exhaust 😡
      I shall keep head scratching for now and let you know how it goes 😂

    thought you could tee off the return pipe on a t4? that's how all the builders do it.

    • @digitalnomadni
      @digitalnomadni  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That was the plan, but, just as simple to drop a line into the tank.

    • @savvy2807
      @savvy2807 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@digitalnomadni dont think it's as simple, webasto Tee off the return near the fuel filter under the bonnet. No pump in the tank on a t4 so no pickup pipe needed. Good job tho mate doesn't harm..

    Thanks for sharing this, just found your channel, can I ask why you didn't use the stand pipe in its entirety? Or is the bit you fed through the sender rigid as well?

    • @digitalnomadni
      @digitalnomadni  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The standard stand pipe that came with the kit doesn't fit in the sender unit, as the top base isn't wide enough. I hacksawed off a part of it and used that as like a weighted down-pipe because if I just used the flexible tube, there's a risk it would eventually curl back up and no longer be submerged in the diesel. Does that make sense?

    • @projectt4782
      @projectt4782 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@digitalnomadni, thanks for the reply, yes that's a bit of a worry it doesn't fit, because looks like I got exactly the same standpipe and the same van. I've not got a kit. Soon find out I guess😂

      @@digitalnomadni funnily enough I've just installed it today. Yes I used the same stand pipe and didn't come across any fitment issues so maybe ours isn't the same. Easy job though, only took half an hour thanks to your video, just got to connect it the other end now and clip the hose up 👍
