Congrats on the PB and the win!! As a slow runner who has been running for less than a year, I love seeing these vlogs! It's so cool to get a glimpse into a world that I'd have never known about. Plus it helps motivate me to go out on my runs when I don't feel like it lol. Thank you for another great video!
Great video mate, the filming was top notch ;) you've got such a nack for telling a story in your vlogs. Keep smashing it mate. I think youve got the XC, ive got the track so the road is where we need to meet next :D keep it up
Thanks Chris! Makes me happy that there’s now a following not only for my own running endeavours but my fellow TH-cam content creators. Proud to be part of the growing community and thanks for your support
@@BenIsRunning many many many many many many many etc etc days ago! Cinder tracks were interesting, I think my first spikes that I purchased from a car boot sale was owned my roger banister 😂 They had nails for spikes!!!
@@BenIsRunning still recovering from 😡 COVID!!! Elevated HR when I run and my lungs are hating the warmer weather! I see you’ve had your eyes done, looking good👌
Its been many years since i was down there training under George Harrison with the Shaftsbury Middle distance squad. This is a great blog that bought back a few memories. Especially a 10x400m on 62 that had me being sick over the barriers
Super pace from all the quality runners they all looked professional. Tight race sit and kick classic. Congratulations to everyone. Glad I wasn’t in the race I would have been lapped many times. Watford rocks.
8:42.92 was my outdoor track PB. Raced it one time I think. It's like a 5 or 6 hour drive to get to a track meet here, so Mostly stuck with road racing. Nice 1:58 by Cole, solid for a road guy. You guys are killing it.
Great run Ben and PB too at a weird distance. Out of interest, are there any running meets near Cambridge that I can just turn up and watch? Looks like fun spectating for a lazy summer's evening.
Ben well done and as someone new to track meets who is trying to get into them, would be good to get your top tips for beginners. I’ve only done a couple of races but feel a lot less comfortable than I do on roads.
Well done! I was "told off", well actually was shouted at for daring to hold a GoPro from the outer lanes at one of these meets last summer. I think technically there is a clause in the rules of competition that disallows filming but more from the perspective of potentially assisting competitors - say in a field event when you could review footage and adjust next go. Not sure how could apply to running events however.
Thanks Tim! I personally just think it’s a lack of understanding between us as content creators/ the power of social media for events like this and the, dare I say it older generation, that officiate these sort of events
@@BenIsRunning yeah and have heard similar in bike road race events and then there is the "ban" of personal footage in the Boston Marathon which you even have to "agree" to if want to run it. It is however possible at 55 I am older than said officials :)
As I get used to the track season the legs are feeling a little more comfortable in the more aggressive Nike. Over 5/10,000m I’d still go adidas at the moment :)
Such a great video, Ben. Really enjoyed that one! You’re so right about these race organisers needing to support you guys. ANYONE that wants to showcase these events should be welcomed!
The fact that you switched from marathon training to winning track races!! Your range is unbelievable 👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you mate
Great quality Vlog as per usual and you made 8:43 look TOOOO easy! Was great to see you and glad you’ve got the Watford bug 😉
Thanks phily! Was great to catch up with you and Dan! Buy him a pint from me, he’s pretty handy with the camera 📸
@@BenIsRunning I’ll buy him two.. I think I owe him quite a few by now as well 😂
I’d love to buy all three of you a beer 🍻 cheers

Let's go Ben! Congratulations on your PB and I must point out that your running form was looking so smooth and relaxed!
Thanks Alex! It was falling apart in the last few laps but kept the arms pumping and hung on in there! Tough stuff track racing 🙌🏻
@@BenIsRunning No worries! I wish my running form would look that smooth when feeling tired, Yes hung on there to get that big W 👊💯

Who’s the little dude, meditating in the bottom right corner?
Hi Ben don't know if you noticed but you can actually see coles race time
That’s the time of the winner of the race, the clock stops as soon as the first runner crosses the line :)
My bad sorry lol
I noticed you switched from the adidas to the Nikes for the 3k. Any specific reason?

What pace do you normally do your warmup at?
4:30-5:00/km and then for longer races 10mins pick up to tempo effort
@@BenIsRunning thanks for answering

Is this ur full time job or do u work?
I won't put what he runs in the video, 10s later...puts the time in the video ,🤣
The time shown on the clock isn’t Cole’s time it’s the guy who won the race. Not the first and sure you won’t be be the last to make that mistake 😂
