Well done Ben! Just hit a new PB this weekend of 17:41. My PB last year was 20:06, so pretty happy with the progression and looking to go sub 17 next year!
@@BenIsRunning thank you! Will try do update this comment when i do a next time trial for 5k or will simply comment on a new video when the time comes. Much appreciated from Canada🇨🇦
@@DR-cs6dl hey, i did a lot of zone 2 training and speed work. I got myself a 16:56 pb in November after the comment left previously and recently ran 1:19:31 at the Ottawa half marathon. Thanks for the reminder to update!
@@soc2168 that’s insane man well done!! My pb was 21:58 in March and I ran a 19:49 a few weeks ago, also from zone 2 training but no speed work, I want to go sub 19 so hearing your progress is inspiring! Would you mind sharing your weekly session splits/plan that lead to that progress?
We certainly did, don’t think I could’ve gone quicker if I’d tried. Had 0 intentions of doing that on the startline but then again o couldn’t let my first finisher streak come to an end 😂
Another great blog Ben. Really enjoyable watch. Nice to see Ramadan & Adrian pushing the pace and making things Interesting. I think Adrian Is almost 50 years old and still running a sub 16 5k !
Hi Ben, congratulations on the PB and the course record, been loving this video series! Sorry about the Insta 360, maybe one thing to try though. I have had electronics get wet in the past and sometimes if you put them in a container completely covered in dry rice for about a week, the rice seems to help draw out the moisture (sometimes) and if not all you have done is used a cup or two of rice🤓 Cheers from Canada, Scott
Stick the camera in some dry rice, it might survive 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Amazing and inspiring running. I can only dream of that pace! Would love to see you try buggy running if you can borrow a toddler from somewhere. It's much harder than muggle running 😄🏃♂️🏃🏻♀️
Hi Ben good to see your channel coming along well. Also really good to see Adrian and Ram pushing you. I'm hoping all 3 of you have a great country season. So your ready to battle it out on the roads next year!
Great running Ben! Something to aspire to! 3.15 per k!! Golly! Well, I think my 8-odd min per k (for a 5k distance) has a bit to be desired 😆 😆. Still, for me, it's a goal to get sub-40 and progress from there. Well done though mate!
Amazing time Ben, that accidental tapering after your light injury may have helped. These parkruns seem so much fun, thanks for sharing them with us. Unfortunately I work the weekends and I can't participate in any of them (they have a few here in Paris as well), so I do the next best thing, I enjoy them through your channel.
Thank you and yes I was very fresh legged throughout. That combined with some great competition made for a fast one. I used to work weekends so no the pain of not being able to make it
Congrates on the inaugural course record Ben. And your 5k pb. You can't beat a good park run vlog. Shame about the insta360. But your right its great for filming on a run. Mine came in very handy for saturdays Cross country race.
Congrats on the new PB! And the win... although saying this every week gets a little boring after a while! So good to see your channel growing so quickly - over 13k subs in what seems like a very short time. Well deserved, very enjoyable vlog. Sorry about the camera accident, that's a pity. And great job hanging around and congratulating the other finishers.
For small electronics that get dropped in water. Do not turn them on and put in a sealed jar/ container with a few of the anti humidity sachets that are in clothing packages (here in Australia taco wrap packages even have them). Leave it a few days to a week depending on size of the device and it will be fine. At a pinch uncooked rice can be used but not as good. Done for several devices and always works. You could give it a go with your camera but as was turned on after it is hit and miss.
Sometimes the PB come in the less expected moments, is a motivation boost and knowing you are heading in the right direction. Congrats! good treat post race
Awesome work Ben! I have my first park run this Saturday which I’m starting to feel nervous about. My current PB is 20:27, and I’d love to break under 20!
Great video, it was nice to have a quick catch up chat afterwards. Great running. Give it a couple of months and come back and reclaim your course record ;-)
Thanks for the great videos mate, I’ve gone from 5km in 24 min down to 18:50 in 2 months of training. Hope one day I’ll get to your times :) I’m at 45km per week but I think I’ll need to build up to 100km + to be on your level
congratulations Ben, i love how your content has evolved, you have a great running style and wish you all the best on your running journey, this is just a thought, i always look forward to your race reports, park run etc, but would love not to know the outcome from the title, just makes it more exciting !!! i guess i could just click and not read !!! in any case you have some of the best running content on youtube,

Fantastic result Ben! Isn't it great to see when a PB comes up when you don't attempt or plan for it? Did you have a quick group that you kept pace with keeping you going?
Before a triathlon I went into a porta potty, dropped my pants and my phone fell out of my pocket into the porta potty, and stuck into a pile poo like it was excalibur.
