I grew up with a dog from age 3 that had epilepsy and even though I saw him have seizures, I'm now 48, and a dog having a seizure would still scare me to death.
We had a beautiful border collie that had his first seizure at 11 yo. It turned out he had a brain tumour which caused his seizures, so I don’t know if epileptic seizures are different in any way but our boy would scream during his seizures. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the sheer terror of that very first seizure!! I would have given anything to be able to give him CBD oil. Here in Australia CBD oil to the best of my knowledge is only -legally- available to people with a medical condition and a prescription. And even though it doesn’t give you the high because it will show up in your blood work you can still get arrested and convicted of driving under the influence. It’s utterly ridiculous!!!
@@nataliemarshall7158 Oh, no! We still have states in the US that treat CBD or medical marijuana the same as you describe, but many are much more lax and the dog CBD isn't considered a big deal at all. The human versions are also acceptable...depending on the state. It's so ridiculous - if it helps, it should be utilized.
1 of my late dog's survived parvo. Year's later he started having seizures. I had to put him down Christmas morning 12 Year's ago because he had seizure after seizure all through the night. Medicine was not working. That was the scariest worst day of my life. Also made Christmas terrible. I wish I would have known about CBD for dog's back then. He only lived to be 8.

Hey Lee, I have a 14yr. old chihuahua with *severe* arthritis and lymphoma. She was on multiple pain meds and basically had no personality she was so drugged up. I started her on your CBD oil last year and I have been able to stop all her pain meds except a low dose of one. She is now back to her normal spunky self! Thank you!

I am so happy that Lillie has you for a dad, Lee. (And that the woman who wanted to adopt her put her own wants aside and did right by Lillie.) I am also so glad that you put Lillie's emotional wellbeing/spirit ahead of her physical issues. If Lillie's life is shortened due to her desire to go for pack walks, so be it. So true about that other woman, and good on Lee for speaking with her. In a way, it’s unfortunate that the LA shelters have this bidding process for “desirable” (ie, purebred or rare breed) dogs or puppies while so many other very adoptable pets are overlooked. Yet in this case, given Lillie’s medical needs, it was important that her adopter be able and willing to afford such care, rather than to adopt on first-come-first-served basis to an impulse adopter (and risk many unhappy returns to the shelter). Although it’s a municipal, taxpayer-funded shelter with a set adoption fee for pets, sometimes reduced, I imagine the bidding process further helps raise funds for the other animals - while making room for all the more coming in, sadly, everyday.

Lillie is so sweet. I can see where she would feel awful to be left behind on the walks. WONDERFUL video. Thank you. My Lily story: She was existing somehow at a off ramp area north of the LA area. I was told about her by the firefighters that I worked with and that worked at the nearby fire station. The area is remote so thinking she was dumped. She had been there for 2-3 months? I put a trap down at the same time the shelter, sort of in the area, also did. One day a woman called that shelter to come get the dog and they did, then immediately put Lily on death row (she is a pit). Fortunately I was told about this and went to adopt Lily and she has been with me ever since. She was probably a year old at the time and I think she had had puppies. I keep thinking I should look up the year this all happened but then I think it doesn't matter. It had to have been at least 15 years ago. She has arthritis pretty bad and can barely get around but keeps cranking on! I spent 4K on her eye operation a couple years ago and told her at the time that after spending that money, she had to live another year..LOL. I have had a couple episodes over the last year where I thought I was losing her but she just keeps cranking on! I give her Adequan which I feel helps her but was thinking of trying some CBD. My Lily also asks to go on the walks and I try to accommodate her even though she can only go 100 ft and back. But she has a long good life....chasing the coyotes in her day! Sorry for the long post but trying to compete with the long videos 😁😁😁
I also bid on a puppy years ago at a Los Angeles county shelter. We bid 350 for a beautiful pit Bull blue eyes puppy . My husband laughed because we paid 350$ for a shelter pup . Best money I ever spent ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
So sad to see her slowing down but she loves going on those walks with you. Thank you for saving her and that she was your first one before you started Asher house. Thanks again Lee. Love your videos

Thank goodness, new ones keep coming, and charming their way into our hearts. Lee, you're incredible and each pup is wonderful, and so very fortunate to have you as their dad.
1. You finally answered my question about who cleans the tons of poop. 2. Thank you for the video. Lily helped to start the Asher House. She is dear sweet friend and a warrior. ❤❤❤
I'm having one of those days where everything makes me cry and listening to this story about Lillie is doing it again. She has just always been there. Lee I have said it before but it is so true, you are a true animal hero. You love them with all your heart and soul and they love you back just as much.
My dog growing up had epilepsy. Golden Retriever. The first time she had a seizure scared us all so much. She lived to 13 years. God bless you for all your work
You saved Lillies life and she wants to stay as long as she can around all that ❤️. So funny Lillie has the tail of a Fox, almost looks like it was added on,Lol. Grateful that you took this girl on.
Let that sweet girl go on pack walks as long as she wants to. Can you bring a wagon or something to help her out when she gets tired? What a blessing she is! ❤❤❤
My kitty, Yankee Grey, at two years old had her first seizure. So scary. The Vet gave 2 blood tests and said to keep her away from the other kitties. I didn't. They told me cats don't usually get epilepsy. They said she had FIP and would be dead in a year. I chose another Vet who said cats do get epilepsy. They prescribed phenobarbital, half a pill twice a day. She had occasional seizures, which I learned to recognize beforehand. She lived to be 17 years old. I miss her everyday. Never give up hope. I am so glad I didn't.
Lee, my precious black lab, at 3 years old went into a grand mal seizure and i had to have him put to sleep. Even writing this now i get tears in my eyes and it was in 2007. His name was Meko my precious boy, Im so very happy that your love and Lillies strength and love for you has brought her where she is today. God bless you and Asher House
Lilly’s story is a beautiful one. My 34 year old has a Stafford Terrier that he found wondering the streets at approximately 5-6 weeks old. I am ever so honored and proud that he will do/pay any amount for her well being. She has had uti’s one after another. One vet said she needed surgery $1000-$3000 and my son said IDC help her. The surgery didn’t last and she been seeing different vets because a chain store vet said to put her down. My son is 34 and makes pretty okay $ but in the food industry around WDW it’s never guaranteed! I just flew there last week and spent a whole week with him. His baby Foxy is so beautiful and loving and that Vet should be ashamed of themselves! She is only 11 years old and has so much more love to give!! She is my grand baby girl and I absolutely love her!!
Lee, yes LA county does the appointment and auction. I went thru this last Wednesday and won the auction!! Cooper is the best boy, and is so smart and learning everyday. 🥰
I’ve been following you and your pack for a while but I hadn’t heard Lillie’s story until now. What an amazing recovery, her spirit is very strong and I think your love and all the other puppers help strengthen her even more. I think she insists on going on the pack walk because she just wants to be with her family and her loving papa. Thank you for sharing her story. Big hugs to Lillie ❤❤❤
Lilly is a sweetheart! Her barking probably drives you crazy, but I find it quite amusing. So glad to hear her story. I always love a good story with a happy ending! 💕🐾💖
I love the picture of you and Lilli on the box of CBD. I have been giving my 15 yr old cocker your CBD for about 2 years and she has not had a seizure since plus (along with other meds/glucosamine/ fish oil/forta flora, etc) she acts like a puppy. I highly recommend it not only for seizures but, mobility. Thank you for taking such good care of her all these years. 🩷🐶
So happy u saved Lillie. Amazing that your CBD works for dogs, cats & people. Roo's doing fantastic, she's improved so much. 😊 God bless your mission Lee ❤
Lee, would greatly appreciate a “Love you guys” at the end of the video so we know you are signing off. TH-cam instantly drops to an ad or next video which requires a review of the last seconds of the video to see if it ended. Lily, we love your consistent barking during filming; telling us you are watching the pack. Great work to you, Lee, and your amazing staff. Love to all residents of The Asher House.
When our dog Barkley was at the end of her time here, she mostly laid like a beautiful lion in the closet she had claimed as her "doghouse". On what would turn out to be her last day with us, she let us know she very much wanted to make a tour of her dog run, something she hadn't been able to do for days. We hesitated, because we were so afraid it would be too much for her, but she was so fidgety and wouldn't let it go. My partner had to help her stay on her feet but she made it all the way around, feeling the breeze in her face, the sun on her coat and smelling the green plants. Then she went to sleep on her bed in her doghouse and never woke up again. She was happy and peaceful after her walk. And we were so glad we listened to her, instead of insisting on what we thought best. If it makes Lilly happy to pack walk...
Lillie has the heart of a warrior she is absolutely amazing!! It was meant to be your heart knew it!! It knew you had to have her. The rewards have outweighed everything, her love for you is without words!! Her summer cut is amazing. I love her and you!!❤❤❤❤
@AZBYCX Older dogs have instincts when they are towards the end of life. They stop eating, drinking water, exerting themselves to let the shut down process begin. I have never been dumb enough to just let my dogs suffer till the end. I have to have them put asleep peacefully, while I am with them.
I have a senior dog who loves to go everywhere with us. When she gets tired we put her in her stroller and she loves it because she still gets to be with us.
The woman who did not fight you for Lillie knew that you were the right owner, and did what was best for the dog - which makes me believe that she is a loving person, and a good dog owner. Good for you for being assertive and honest, and good for her for understanding and making the right decision.
Please never stop allowing dog’s who still physically can to go on hike’s with you and their pack , they’ll let you know when they no longer can Lee ! Obviously you know this and once again we love you and the whole Asher family!💪🏼✌️🤗💜💜💜💜💜🙏🏼
Im so grateful you pleaded your case with the other bidder the way you did… that plea was everything and more. I’m proud of her for putting her feelings aside and listened to rationality, for the better outcome for Lillie and not just herself. Some people can’t do this. You are astounding Lee, thank you for doing what you do for our furry pure hearted friends❤️ they only reflect you, and you them. 😊
Of all the health concerns I've dealt with from all my pets thru the years, the worst was seizures. It was so scary. I hadn't ever seen it before, either. Lillie has thoroughly loved her journey with you. It's so obvious. I wish I could invent a translating device for dogs. I'd love to know what Lilly has been saying. She's got so much to say 😊. I've fallen for the big girl like so many others. ❤
The endless visits at the time when you first visited Lillie, was your destiny to save animals. Starting a successful business needs a lot of sacrifice, self belief and determination. With all the love and care that you provided Lillie made her live the happy life she is still enjoying today. Often hardship and suffering prepares animals and people for an extraordinary destiny. You should be very proud of all your achievements. Your dedication paid off in the end!!!👍👏💞...🐾🌹
I call Lillie "the sassy one." Lillie constantly interupts you while you are speaking, and puts her 2 cents in and let's you know what she thinks about the subject you are sharing with us. She's come a long way from where she started but I think this is why people like her. Lillie doesn't give a crap about your status as a human. When she's ready to state something she will do it. If she has to bark over your conversation, to get there---so what! This does not stop her! She has no filter!: ) Love ya Lillie gurl.
Lillie is precious. She's a stately female. If she does not feel like going on these walks she will not go on these walks. My dachshund Yorkie mix is 15 almost 16 and the only thing she doesn't do is jump up and down like she used to. So we get stairs. Lillie seems very happy and content to be the queen of the pack. I love how she's the spokes person for the pack. You guys keep doing what you're doing , because it's an awesome thing!!!!
I had a Dachshund that had seizures for 13 yrs of her 15 yr life. Wish I had known about CBD being good for seizures! Thanks for the info. Love to all the critters and all the people who care for them at Asher House! ❤❤❤ You all rock!!
Bless you Lee, and all who work at Asher House!!!! Have been following you for about a year now. Finally subscribed, and any animal lovers I know, I tell them about you. Most have subscribed. Appreciate all the love and work you have given to the assortment at the ASHER ARK.
Lillie 😍 she's always inspring me to live every day to the max. You have both created a legacy that will go on and on. Think how many dogs, cats and humans lives have been helped because you found CBD, founded the Asher house and Asher Wellness. You are both such a gift. Thank you for sharing Lillie with us and for all that you do Lee 💜
Lillie is so precious. I can imagine how hard it was to see her seize, especially because she is such a big dog. I also can imagine how helpless and scared you must have felt. I adopted an 8 pound munchkin cat, Scooter, from the local Humane Society 19 years ago not knowing she had a neurological problem. The first night she slept at the foot of my bed I was awoken by what I thought was an earthquake. But it was Scooter shaking the bed during a ferocious seizure. Then suddenly, she disappeared by tumbling down between the mattress and footboard of the bed. I was in a panic, afraid she would be crushed in that tight space or would be seriously injured as she slammed against the wooden footboard over and over again. Her back would arch in such a way that I thought she would suffer spinal damage. Her eyes were glassy and she was drooling uncontrollably. Meanwhile I was trying to get her out of that space while her spasms caused her claws to scratch my forearms to ribbons. The whole thing probably only lasted a minute and a half but it felt like an hour. It was a terrible, draining experience for both of us. I did not sleep the rest of that night and I was at the vet’s the moment it opened the next morning. After many months of trial and error, the vet and I ultimately found the right dose of medication that reduced her seizures to as few as one every couple of years or so and Scooter and I had almost 19 years together. She passed away in February and I still miss her everyday. I wish I had known about CBD then. It might have saved her from the seizures she had while we were trying to find something that would help her.
Sweet Lilly. Bless her heart. No one understands how she's doing or her journey but you. I had no idea. You want to do whats best for her physically but mentally she wants to go with the pack and you so I see. She's won your heart and you deserve her. You ve been there to save her. God bless you.
What a beautiful story of recovery and she looks SO healthy despite her age and her limitations and the fact she wants to be on the pack walk is testament to her will to live x I pray she lives for much much longer xxx
I am in complete envy. not only because of his complete devotion to every dog he takes under his wings but his love for what he does. If i could ever realise a dream to help these souls this would be it.
I had to come here and hear Lillie’s story after hearing of her passing. You are an amazing human and I am so sorry for your loss. I’ll be thinking of you and all her brothers and sisters. 💛
My heart goes out to you, Lee. Lilly was also one of my faves. Unfortunately, you will be experiencing this loss over and over as you continue your mission of rescuing and loving and providing best lives to all these beautiful animals. I guess grief is the price we all pay for the gift we are given of unconditional love. I love what you do, and truly nobody could’ve provided a better life for Lily than you. I hope you’re able to focus on all the good and that helps you with your pain. God bless you and keep up the great work. If I were a dog, you’re sanctuary is where I would want to be.
One idea: a separate slower walk for slower dogs. Occasionally. No dog would be alone. Some would be home with large portion of the pack and some them would be out on the slower walk together.
I came here after hearing of Lilly’s passing. It’s so sad & I know you’re heartbroken. However, you gave, this beautiful girl, years she likely wouldn’t have had. She was the heart & soul of the Asher House & the beginning of a journey that’s saved so many beautiful dogs. RIP, Lilly, you were an inspiration for all that’s good! 💕
This is so awesome about Lily. Our Jack Rat Terrier became afflicted with seisures and we weren't sure what to do. I researched CBD oil and decided to try it. I had to put it on a dry dog treat to get him to take it. We have had success this way, it has been quite awhile since he had one.
Came here after seeing your video on instagram. Can’t even imagine how heartbreaking this must be! What a sweet and beautiful dog! What matters is you gave her the best life she could have ever had and she was so happy with you! You did a great job! RIP Lillie ❤
Twenty-some years ago, I had a dog - malamute/shepherd/wolf cross - who developed seizures. Our (very good) vet thought she had epilepsy, and we tried medications for that, and some other things, none of which worked. As it happened, one of the foremost veterinary neurologists in the country had an office about five blocks from my house, so we got a referral, and one morning I walked her over. He explained that he would need to attempt to trigger a seizure, which I understood - but it didn't work. I remember he looked at her long and thoughtfully, then asked me, "what do you think is the problem?" To which I responded, "I think she has a very deep inner ear infection." (Our vet had tried treatment for that earlier, but perhaps not long or strong enough.) He looked at Wenna, and he looked at me, and said, "I think you're right." As it turned out, I was. We got that taken care of, and she never had a seizure again.
I came back to this video after the one you just posted.
Rest in peace, sweet girl
Me too 🥰

❤
That's a beautiful story Lee... blessings for giving her back her health. ❤
❤
Lilly is so lucky you found her. She is beautiful. Sending love to all of your animals. ❤
Lillie always has a lot to say so I am glad she is with you. She is not done with this world yet!
You are so good!! "We don't poop around!!"❤
Ohhh sweet Lily!! ❤
🩷🐶
See how events change the direction of our lives? Both of you are now in a better place.
Thank you for your drive and empathy to those fur babies.
RIP sweet Lilly😢💔
God bless Lillie 🙏❤️🙏
So happy u saved Lillie. Amazing that your CBD works for dogs, cats & people. Roo's doing fantastic, she's improved so much. 😊 God bless your mission Lee ❤
Lee, would greatly appreciate a “Love you guys” at the end of the video so we know you are signing off. TH-cam instantly drops to an ad or next video which requires a review of the last seconds of the video to see if it ended. Lily, we love your consistent barking during filming; telling us you are watching the pack. Great work to you, Lee, and your amazing staff. Love to all residents of The Asher House.
I love her barking too.❤. And I agree with what you tube does with the filming. Annoying.
That's a great idea!!!
I've always loved Lilly! Tony was my other favorite. So sad when he passed. ❤
So sad but so beautiful 🥹
😭❤️
Thank you for loving Lily and taking care of her.
Lillie has the heart of a warrior she is absolutely amazing!! It was meant to be your heart knew it!! It knew you had to have her. The rewards have outweighed everything, her love for you is without words!! Her summer cut is amazing. I love her and you!!❤❤❤❤
If Lillie doesn't feel like walking with the pack or she can't make it she won't go. Let her go as long as she can.
@AZBYCX Older dogs have instincts when they are towards the end of life. They stop eating, drinking water, exerting themselves to let the shut down process begin. I have never been dumb enough to just let my dogs suffer till the end. I have to have them put asleep peacefully, while I am with them.
@AZBYCX I didn't mean you did. But when dogs get at the end of life, they do stop. They will let you know. Or at least my dogs have.
Yes some dogs will persevere so as not to "disappoint " their owners ❤
Or maybe there could be a shorter walk for the seniors lol ❤
I have a senior dog who loves to go everywhere with us. When she gets tired we put her in her stroller and she loves it because she still gets to be with us.
The woman who did not fight you for Lillie knew that you were the right owner, and did what was best for the dog - which makes me believe that she is a loving person, and a good dog owner. Good for you for being assertive and honest, and good for her for understanding and making the right decision.
Lillie, has always caught my attention, yes because she reminds me of Nanna out of Peter Pan .. but also her strength she is amazing.
Take care x
Animal communicators help understand
Beautiful soul Lilly 💜
Happy for Lilly ❤you were able to adopt her and give her the time, love and care. ❤ Thank you
I just love how Lee's shirt is covered in dog fur. Wouldn't expect anything else
I was thinking the same once I realized it wasnt the pattern! 😄😺
I call it angel fur. Not only do we live their fur coats, but so do the bird's. They put the angel fur in their nest to keep their babies warm.
I meant to say love their fur coats.( Not live) sorry for the type o
@@lindacoates5764 Lol I understood it, don't worry. I get brain fog as par for the course so have learned to decipher a lot. 🙃
I’ve never heard Lillie’s story….you restore my faith in humanity with every video…God bless you and your beautiful pack ❤️🙏
Love you Lillie.... Thank you for keep including her.... 💙💙💙💙
I had a Dachshund that had seizures for 13 yrs of her 15 yr life. Wish I had known about CBD being good for seizures! Thanks for the info. Love to all the critters and all the people who care for them at Asher House! ❤❤❤ You all rock!!
Thank you for being the inspiration to save so many other fur babies. 😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Omg sweet Lilly. I miss my St Bernard every day. She passed away at 11 years old. They are such amazing and loving dogs
Lills - she's the best :) I learned just today that you've had her that long! Thanks Lee for the massive love you share with her and all the others.
You're funny but you're an inspiration to love our animals more. TY for caring for these souls.
I trust a man who has dog fur all over his t-shirt. Love your videos, thanks for helping these dogs!
Bless you Lee, and all who work at Asher House!!!!
Have been following you for about a year now.
Finally subscribed, and any animal lovers I know, I tell them about you. Most have subscribed. Appreciate all the love and work you have given to the assortment at the ASHER ARK.
It's a scary thing to witness a seizure. Bless you Lee. ❤🙏
God bless you & God bless each animal you care for. It takes a special kind of person to do your work. Your doing a great job.
Love you Lilly 💞
Hope you are at peace now. 😢
Sweet Lilly. Bless her heart. No one understands how she's doing or her journey but you. I had no idea. You want to do whats best for her physically but mentally she wants to go with the pack and you so I see. She's won your heart and you deserve her. You ve been there to save her. God bless you.
Everything happens for a reason and you were chosen to save her!!
What a beautiful story of recovery and she looks SO healthy despite her age and her limitations and the fact she wants to be on the pack walk is testament to her will to live x I pray she lives for much much longer xxx
Absolutely amazing that a St. Bernard can live as long as Lily! And she was sickly! Thanks for sharing an amazing story😊.
New and effective ways to change any kind of suffering for anyone is beyond inspirational 🔥💪
Keep Going 💜
🌈 Run, Lillie girl, ya big beautiful critter. You'll live in so many hearts forever.
Lee....no words, man. 🫂
❤❤❤🙏🌈
Awe my baby!
I am in complete envy. not only because of his complete devotion to every dog he takes under his wings but his love for what he does.
If i could ever realise a dream to help these souls this would be it.
I'm glad she found you and your team.❤❤❤
I had to come here and hear Lillie’s story after hearing of her passing. You are an amazing human and I am so sorry for your loss. I’ll be thinking of you and all her brothers and sisters. 💛
You are an angel, man. You gave her a great life, just as you give a great life to other dogs as well.
Awwwww Lily 😢 hope you are with all the pups who went before you ❤ we'll keep giving Lee all our love for you 😊
Love Lillie...
🤎🤍 RIP Lillie x So sorry for your loss, Lee. 🤗
Absolutely beautiful love lily she's a lovely dog ❤❤❤❤😊
Hi Beautiful Lillie 🎀🐕💕
I remember your story and Amazing transformation ❤
You can and has survived👏🏾🙌🏾🙏🏽
Gratitude Lee for hanging in there 🙏🏽 ❤
God is Blessing you
Came here after seeing your video on instagram.
Rest in peace, lovely girl. 💚💙
You did an awesome job with Lily, like what you do with all of your dogs and the rest of your animals. Well done Lee.❤🤗👍
I also came back to this video to learn more about her. May she rest in peace.
