This is probably my favorite scene in the entire 5 seasons for the significance of the 2 phone calls. How Bryce's phone call came first, and on an old style phone, and Chuck's call came second, and on a more developed phone like a cell phone. Bryce- represents Sarah's past Chuck- represents Sarah's future
What is intresting is that, in this episode Sarah and Bryce fight off Fulcrum agents during the Buy More's Black Friday sale and the episode ends with this Band of Horses song. This is reflected in 3x19 Chuck vs the Ring part II when Chuck and Sarah fight Shaw(a Ring agent) during the Buy More's going out of business sale. That fight ends with them embracing eachother while another Band of Horses song, Bluebeard plays. Furthermore, 3x19 ends with the Band of Horses song "on my way back home". Both fights in the Buy More begin after the code word Pineapple is used to evacuate the store. I love the way this show always made call backs or mirrored ascpets of itself to demonstrate its own evolution and character development.
Figured out the comment “We’ll always have Omaha” is actually Bryce’s way of saying to Sarah “We’ll always have Chuck” as Omaha is the intersect project.
This scene is important in understanding Sarah's psychology. When Chuck and Bryce both called, both more or less wanting her to stay with him...she had a _hard time deciding_. She's torn deep, 49% of her wants to go with Bryce and 51!% to stay with Chuck. It's entirely possible to be in love with two people at once, and Sarah is with Chuck and Bryce.
In TV life yes...in real life no. In real life when your in love you will give everything up for the other person - even your own life. I know, I am in love with my wife...and would sacrifice everything for her.

I hated this moment. I hated that they put so much pressure on Sarah. I like what +gdamtov77 said, though: that the symbols lead to Bryce being Sarah past and Chuck her future :)
And p.s. that's life. People go through an immense amount of pressure sometimes and art imitates life. Choices like that happen every day for people, so while it's hard, it's also relatable and realistic.
Bryce seriously had THE WORST love life ever. Lost one gf to his best friend, another one blown up by a bomb on a plane, another left him to move to London for work, and another ended up being a psychopathic murderer who committed suicide by cop. And on top of all that, had his new best friend try to murder the first girlfriend. 😜😜😜
But he was with Sarah first. And this point, he didn't even know that Sarah and Chuck had real feelings for each other. He doesn't realize that til his later appearance, when Sarah puts Chuck's safety ahead of the mission, and after the talking to by Devon at the hospital. But ultimately, he's happy for the two of them. Hence, the little smirk after Sarah shakes her head no about going with him, and him actually telling Chuck that Sarah had picked him, right before he died.
Here's why I'm mindfucked right now: 1. I'm currently watching Doom Patrol 2. I'm also rewatching Chuck 3. Only in episode 8 of Doom Patrol did I realize this is the same actor who played Bryce Larkin in Chuck 4. Never in a million years would I have expected this guy to be gay 5. He's MARRIED to a 55 year old man 6. How is Matt even older than 35? What is life?
I only watched Chuck sporadically, as my work schedule didn't allow me to watch prime time shows regularly. But I never realized Matt Bomer was in Chuck! Of course I didn't know who he was then; I started to know of him in White Collar.
Actually, Chuck and Bryce are very similar, that's why it's so hard here for Sarah. And it's why Chuck felt so betrayed by Bryce when he got kicked out of Stanford.
