    sometimes the slave adress is not 0x3f. So change it to 0x27 if it dosn't work when using this function:
    LiquidCrystal_I2C lcd(0x3f,20,4);

    Very nice video. It was very straight-forward and easy to follow. What do you think about entering the key code through the android app? Would this make the system slightly more secure?

    Hi Electronoobs first off great video. Helped me set up my arduino project. I altered the code to fit what I was wanting, erasing the electronoobs on the LCD and stuff. So far I've gotten the keypad to open and close the servo and the inside open push button to open the servo. But I have been unsuccessful on getting the close button to work properly. It could be the code but I'm not an expert. Any Advice?

    Good day! I'm planning to use this type of project for my thesis. I just wanna ask does the emergency button for opening the relay have a time before it closes? Or does this button let's the arduino think that someone inputted the correct pincode and then it closes with the programmed time?

    Hi I absolutely love all your videos your an absolute legend. I'm looking at trying this project where did you purchase the buzzer, on of buttons and leds please?

    Where did you learn to do all these projects you have so much knowledge? 👍🏼

    • @ID-te4sv
      @ID-te4sv 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks very much for your reply. This is my first project I have no knowledge of electronics. I've purchased all the items you've mentioned in your video including the the Arduino Uno & Nano. Do you have a photo or any diagrams of how you connect all the leads to a Nano. I'm sorry if I sound stupid but I'm confused on how I run a red lead to the 5v power from the Bluetooth module, LCD screen and the servo motor there only seems to be one 5v port on the uno? Any photos of both uno and Nano would be much appreciated.
      Since my message I've uploaded all the zips and info, I thought I would just test it with LCD screen and keypad attached and nothing else for the moment. The LCD seems to flash through door open electronoobs, password, insider open and just keeps repeating.

    • @ELECTRONOOBS
      @ELECTRONOOBS  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I K those are all the same 5v lead. solder all the wires together and connect them to the 5V pin of the Arduino. it should supply enough power for all the modules

    • @ID-te4sv
      @ID-te4sv 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ELECTRONOOBS thanks very much. I just wanted to test the keypad and LCD screen, so I connected just these two items to the Adriano Uno. I've installed all the code. The LCD lights up but it flashes up door open, password, then inside open and then repeats. What is the issue I know I've not got everything connected in regards to the other items, but presumed I would be able to test these two.
      Do you have an email address I could possibly send you a video of what's happening?
      I really want to learn more about electronics and your videos and projects are so helpful. Thanks

    • @ELECTRONOOBS
      @ELECTRONOOBS  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I K that's because you don't have the push buttons connected and it jumps around with no sense, now that i think you should add the buttons or delete sole lines on the code. find the part in the code where it says emergency open and delete that lines of code

    Hello, I have a question but first of all this was a great video. So how do you suggest I power the arduino for permanent use? Would I have to just hide the wires up to the arduino from a nearby outlet?

    • @brentroberson7211
      @brentroberson7211 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, and I forgot to ask, did you just drill through the door to connect the keypad to the arduino?

    • @ELECTRONOOBS
      @ELECTRONOOBS  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, just add a 12V transformer and nice hide the wires as a normal electronic door keypad.

      You must add part of code after this:
      if(Str[10]='A' && character==5 && Str[6]=='3' && Str[7]=='0' && Str[8]=='0' && Str[9]=='7' )
      {
      myservo.write(mot_max);
      lcd.clear();
      lcd.setCursor(4,0);
      lcd.print("ACCEPTED");
      activated = 2;
      analogWrite(buzzer,240);
      delay(250);
      analogWrite(buzzer,200);
      delay(250);
      analogWrite(buzzer,180);
      delay(250);
      analogWrite(buzzer,250);
      delay(250);
      analogWrite(buzzer,LOW);
      delay(1000);
      lcd.clear();
      lcd.setCursor(4,0);
      lcd.print("WELLCOME");
      delay(500);
      lcd.setCursor(2,1);
      lcd.print("ELECTRONOOBS");
      delay(1000);
      lcd.clear();
      lcd.setCursor(3,0);
      lcd.print("DOOR OPEN");
      lcd.setCursor(2,1);
      lcd.print("ELECTRONOOBS");
      you need to set the right delay after this and write:
      delay(what you need);
      myservo.write(mot_min);
      I think it will work.

    Hey, The library for the i2c does not work for me since i have an adafuit i2c LDC backpack. Only the adafruit LCD library does. How do I make this Work? Thanks great video

    • @ELECTRONOOBS
      @ELECTRONOOBS  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I haven't tried that but I supose that you inport the adafruit library instead of the i2c lyquid library. Then, I never used the adafruit library but i supose that it also has a LCD.begin or LCD.start or so. So use those to initialize the LCD and then substitute all the LCD.print functions with the ones for adafruit. Since is i2c, the LCD pins should be the same, A4 and A5 because those are the only i2c port for the atmega328p.

    I uploaded the code to the arduino successfully and it worked fine but a couple of days later it stopped working so I bough a new arduino and uploaded the code again but nothing seems to be working all the cables are in the correct position
    do u have any idea what I did wrong?

    • @ELECTRONOOBS
      @ELECTRONOOBS  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could upload the code? If yes, the LCD screen works? If yes, the keypad is the only one that doesn't work? I have to know all this in order to help you. Also if you have the Bluetooth module connected to the Tx and Rx pins you can't upload the code because the arduino uses those same pins to burn the code with the FTDI chip. So disconnect the pins before upload and connect them back later once the code is uploaded. Keep up!

    The project with arduino uno is fully functional, but, with an arduino Micro( or Nano) i must change the pins and the code because the pin out is much different. I have a problem with SDA and SCL, what can i do, you can uplod a new schematic with the correct connections for Nano or Micro? Thanks a lot and sorry for my orrible english!!
    UPDATE : I do this changes using arduino Micro. For display I2C (LiquidCrystal_I2C lcd(0x27,16,2)use SDA and SCL, respectively: 2 (PD1)and 3(PD0), for the buzzer PIN 13 (PC7 - PWM), for external PIN 12 (PD6 - A11), for internal PIN 14 (A1), for the servo PIN 11 (PB7), for my home made 4x3 keyboard i use pins from 4 to 10 (4, 5, 6 for COLS and 7, 8, 9, 10 for the ROWS).
    If you connect the bluetooth use pins 1 (PD2) for TX and 0 (PD3) for RX.
    The code must be modified respecting the correct pin out. But, even without my changes, this project is awesome!!.... Thanks bro
    !!

    Hello Electronoobs. This is a fantastic tutorial video and easy to understand. I really like it. Talking and tutorial action together, not just talking a lot but no action tutorial like many tutorial in TH-cam does. Electronoobs, can you please give the link to download the header file of the Wire.h, Liquid Crstal.h or any other header file for it to be use in the sketch program..thanks in advance.

    Shouldn't the numbers being pressed be hidden by asterix instead of being displayed?

    Im looking forward to buying things and make one. but a tiny problem. my lock is not of the knob type its the Bolt action sniper type ( i hope you got it xD ) and its a little lengthy. i could lubricate i but will the servo be able to pull it down? cuz i want it on downward direction. if i could spin keys with it that will be great to..

      Sachin Mahesh in my case I removed my lock and bought a new slide one to make sure that it would work. It only costs 1 dolar.

    Em. Just one more question, how many volts does this project need. Because I want plug in an adapter.

    • @ELECTRONOOBS
      @ELECTRONOOBS  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apply a voltage from 6 to 15V to the Vin pin of the arduino. The arduino board already has a 5V and 3,3 voltage regulator.

      yes if some try to enter with wrong password and camera will take pictures and store in any storage device like pen drive or data card. so owner will get to know that unauthorised person.
