You are the first creator that has explained the advantages and reasons for mass making , that has made sense to me. I am neurodivergent ( or neuro spicy) and the idea of focusing on one thing makes me anxious. But your process doesn’t feel so restrictive. Now to tidy up my creative space and start a few processes that will make creating journals a little faster and more enjoyable. I think you understand the anxiety of perfectionism better than anyone else on TH-cam! Thanks for your realism and kindness. I must also say that I appreciate the bold colors you sometimes use- I resorted to making my own backgrounds because I couldn’t find intense colors that make me happy. Love the whole vintage / Victorian look, but too many cabbage roses gives me 1980s flashbacks! Thanks to you and your subscribers for being supportive, curious, friendly, and a safe place to become the creators we are all meant to be. Warm wishes to all from Colorado Springs, Colorado- USA.

Hello Ceri I have only just joined you on TH-cam. Would like to thank you for giving me a new hobby. I have been retired since June last year. And I been drawing and painting on and off for years. I needed a change. All the best for 2024, look forward to following you. Xx
Dear Ceri, I’m a newbe around this journaling art community, ( so 'thank you' too for acknowldging us newbes') I feel so grateful and amazed by your lovely gentle willingness and methodology of sharing, I adore it. The free flowing approach to starting and in particular the template is a magical key to getting going on this art journey. And if you are ocd then I guess I am too because everything you say makes perfect sense to me. Thank you so much for your guidance, I will now go off in search of more of you. Namaste.
You brought back some childhood memories for me too Ceri! We never had a washing machine either and I also used to turn the handle on a mangle for my mum but not so much for clothes, more for sheets and blankets. It is always good to see how each crafter vary basics and get inspiration. Thank you for sharing!
Mr. Finkel from the British Museum is collecting all Journals from around the world because it is history. He does have a U-tube channel where he explains why it is important to save these journals. I think this is a wonderful idea because history is not just about war, it should also include how people lived their daily lives. Love your ideas Ceri!!!
I've only just found your channel and am impressed! I love the idea of using up some of the "unusable" 12 x 12 papers. I know we've all fallen victim to the 12 x 12 packs that have maybe 3 or 4 designs that we can't live without but then we're left with a LOT of pages that just won't work for us. This is an ingenious idea! I'm primarily a card maker but I've decided that 2023 is the year I'll get back to my favorite art form - mixed media. I love to make journals so your ideas will be so useful. Thank you for the inspiration!
Omg Ceri! That template is a game changer for me! Love watching you and your great ideas. I love that in the journal world we always get to learn new ideas from fellow crafters!
Such a fabulous video, my friend! Love the template and always enjoy an “ugly paper” make over! And…you gave me a tear. You’re too kind, dear Ceri. Love you, my friend! ❤️
I am new here as well as to making journals. I love the template as well as the direction for what to do with the unwanted 12 by 12 papers. I am watching different artists create at this point with the goal of creating backgrounds, pockets, and other ways of displaying for future generations the plethora of ephemera left to me from past generations. I hope at least one member of each generation shows an interest in the stories and genealogy as well as all the little bits and pictures that can be tucked into handmade books.
I have been making tags like this for years, but I never tire of watching others make them, and also, you taught me to think about making a template. I usually willy-nilly cut randomly, but I like this extra step. Thanks for sharing!
I am so glad I found your channel. I am new and learned so much in such a short period of time. I will be coming back routinely. Thank you so much for considering beginners!
I am a newbie to your channel and I’m so excited to be here. I’m in south Australia and about to embark on a journey of helping my 8 year old twin grandsons to make their first junk journal…so having some basic videos are great AND by a male is even better so thank you. Thank you very much
You made it look so easy…….and it was………as a creator that often wants all my pieces perfect…….love this piece……let’s me work outside my comfort zone and still have my 12x12 piece( that quite often never will be used) not become a wasted sheet! TFS.🤗🤗🤗
I'm glad you revisit things for us, and I'm glad you mentioned not filling the journals so full, I truly would want the person who receives it to be able to use it. 💜 The template for cutting and the tag corner template are brilliant!
I’m that new person to this hobby you’re talking about ! I started making cards then tags but I wanted to make my own backgrounds. I started on this journey of cards only just before Christmas so these videos are wonderfully creative. ❤🇦🇺
I’m a newbie and appreciate you taking the time to make something for those of us who are going through some of the nervousness you talked about. I also don’t like my own handwriting, but my family members tell me I’m too hard on myself. I totally relate. Thanks so much for expressing what many don’t express.
What a pleasure hearing you ! It takes me more than 50 years ago, when I went to see my granny for my holidays in Southampton. Her way of talking was like yours, same style same words same particular idioms (tickle in the throat for e.g.) that I haven’t heard since. When I watch your videos I'm a little bit at home. Now I’ve lost all practice and vocabulary and the « Oxford » way of speaking is the only one I can understand. Thanks so much for this « madeleine de Proust ».
I have no idea how I got to your page, but I'm so glad I did. I'm new at this and I love listening to you and watching you. I would have never thought of this!!! Thank you!
Mister Ceri this is a BRILLIANT technique! You've made it so nice and neat looking. You're a great teacher, and this is something I am going to start using. So many tips here, I love this kind of tutorial! ❤️
I love what you were saying about your handwriting. I’m the same and I have Children and Grandchildren. I can remember going through my Mothers things after she was gone and hanging on to everything she had written . So I think what you said is very wise. ! Thanks for the reminder 👍
Great idea, Ceri! Yes those not so desirable 12 x 12’ s....... just didn’t want them to go to waste. Hooray for that template! Another inspiring video. Thank you, Ceri! 🦋🦋🦋
Not only are your videos super informative and helpful, but your voice is soothing, your whole manner enjoyable and your family stories, I mean, I love them! Thank you very much! New subscriber.
THANK YOU ❣️❣️❣️ I’m a new subbie and new to junk journaling 🤗 you make everything look so effortlessly beautiful ❣️❣️❣️ I took a screenshot of your template and can’t wait to get started making ephemeral little masterpieces ❣️❣️❣️ Lol! Again, you’re much appreciated 💜💜💜
Thank you, Ceri, for the lovely video. I do have a few "hideous" 12 x 12 sheets from otherwise lovely paper packs. Now I know what to do with them. I love how calming your voice is. It lends itself to a serene crafting environment. And thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your talents.
OMG! I love this idea, the template is genius! I get very scatterbrained when crafting so having a guide is really going to help keep me focused. Great idea, great video Ceri! Hello from Boston :)
I am new to journaling and but have been crafting for years..... l love it and I truly am grateful to all who post videos.. .I am learning so much about how and what tools are out there......i am just soaking it all in and soon I will be creating something....teehheehee cant wait. good thing I am retired. so thank you thank you....
@@CeriGriffiths I got called away and just finished watching to the end and am blown away... I really love it and you made it with such ease. fantastic results....thank you again.
Hello Ceri! I love watching you create! I'm going to try turning the page as I glue down, what a wonderful idea. Thanks for pausing and letting me get a couple of snapshots so I remember the sizes and all the places I can find you. Hugs from Monroe, Georgia. USA
Thank you for a relaxing and stimulating video. I have only been looking into scrapbooking for a very short time after making cards for about 6 years. So the level was perfect for me. Your whole persona was so natural and your instructions so very clear. I thought it was brilliant. Thank you very much.
Love this Ceri! Thank you for teaching us your techniques, as you said, it's new for some of us, even if the video is 2 years old 😊. In regards to what you were saying about the wet rags, I use my husband's old cotton tshirts and tear them up appart into rags😂, the best thing is that they are re-usable, just into the washer and off you go! 😀
I'm new to all of this and this is one of the best videos I've seen! Thanks so much for taking us "newbies" into consideration when you explain what you're making. I got a lot of great tips to incorporate into my crafting 😊❤
This video is just crammed with advice, tricks and inspiration. I'm going to have to go back through it several times to get my notes done with the time stamps! Our minds work so much alike. When you started talking about cutting up I thought -- I'd do a template for that. Brilliant idea to place the cut items back on the template to keep track of what it is. I really like that card template for snipping corners. I don't do journaling but all your ideas can apply to what I do. Thank you for taking the time to do a video that's well narrated, shows end-to-end process and is very engaging to listen to!
Thank you Susan, yes many items in the journaling world can be used away from journaling, I often send a note on a postcard or a journal card, I include them with gifts or packing, I obviously create tags for Christmas and small journals cards make great card toppers.
I’m new to journals never pulled a gelly print so sincerely thank you. I’ve collaged and been an artist all my life but what you do is foreign to me. Thank you for sharing.
I just love how you didnt waste anything & I loved what it looked like after it was finished!!💝 whatched it 2×. Have you ever use greeting cards with thier images for pockets, flip ups, tags? Have you ever added envolopes to your junk journals for pockets, have you every make tabs in your junk jounrals?

Hi Ceri, first time viewing you, definitely won’t be the last. Even if I never make anything (way out of my comfort zone) I will enjoy your videos. Thanks and hello from Australia 🇦🇺
Cerise’s, once again you blow me away with your ideas & talent. As I’d told you before I switched to journals from card making. I have a ton of 12x12” just taking up space- now I have a purpose for them. I’m ever so grateful for all you share with us. Have a blessed day, Janara
LOVE the template and the small one for the tag trimming. The background you created is lovely. Always love watching your videos, you are a great instructor in what ever you are teaching us. Thank you!
These are beautiful! The template is such a good idea so there is no waste. I love your mass make videos. My sister and I made your numbers ephemera and the master sheet for tags, this week. It was so much fun! Next week we are on to your faux stamps. Now I need to find some really nice napkins and tissue paper! LOL Thank you for sharing your talent with us. :)
Thanks Ceri! I’m one of those newbies you are talking about. I so appreciate these videos and the template is so helpful. Too often I have to rush to take a screen shot or rewind to just the right spot so it’s great that you give ample time to get the shot. Hugs from KY, USA
Just found you on here, Ceri and thoroughly enjoyed your video. So refreshing to listen to and watch a guy crafter! Now I can't wait to catch up with all your other creations
Great video! I always find 12 x 12 papers that I know I will never use, so this is a great idea! I love how you made so many with 1 page. They were also beaufifil!! Thank you for sharing!!
This is the first video of yours that I have seen, and now I'll binge watch others!!! Love your video! I've been watching Gayle and Rachel for years, I'm so glad i found you finally!!!
thank you Ceri, I'm that one person who is starting the journey on making journals and ephemera, so thank you for your tutorials, they are really inspiring me and also teaching me a lot of neat things. I just love it!
Awesome tutorial! I laughed when you talked about Mom's carrying damp cloths in bags, my Mom gave us "spit baths", LOL spit on a tissue. She figured Mom spit was okay.Love your videos.
Great ideas. I was cutting numbers while watching using a 12x12 I don’t like. I loved the template. Thanks. Also watched grounding paper dolls while tidying the bedroom.
I have just found you! What a brilliant tutorial. Thank you so much. I love 12’ x 12’ papers but don’t know what to do with the least likeable ones. Thank you so much Ceri. I have subscribed and will now look at all of your classes. Thanks from Cat in France x
I’m not a new crafter … but I am new to your channel… you are amazing!!! Love this tutorial on how to alter paper you will never use except perhaps to make envelopes. Thank you for sharing .. I can see there is lots of other videos for me to get my creative juices going.
Please don't stop doing these basic videos. I am not a newbie, but just LOVE the template. I have not seen the plastic wrap trick before. Thank you!
Victoria, I’ll keep doing what I can as long as I can, if I can help the next generation of creative people in some small way I will have done my job.

Janara, thank you and have fun with the new journey you’re on.

Sounds as you’re both having fun and that brings me joy, thank you.
