Every once in a while you, Gayle, Rachel, or whomever, brings us an idea that is so “out-of-this-world” amazing that you have to drop what you’re doing to recreate it only to find three hours have passed and you’ve created this massive stack of unique works of art on coffee dyed papers and you simply can’t stop but it is 2 a.m. and you must get some sleep! I will be in love with this technique of creating Antiquarian Pages for all of my crafting days, Ceri. Thank you for bringing this sensational way of creating our own unique field note pages to our journals! I’m thinking of changing my name to Edith!!!
I just found you this past Sunday. I must admit that I am now addicted to your teachings and creative ideas. I’ve lost count of how many of your videos I’ve watched. You are a lifesaver. I am 80 years old and have some physical disabilities and can no longer quilt. I decided I was going to go back to scape booking and in the process of researching found out about Gelli art that led me to you. Thank you so much for your way of teaching and amping up my excitement to learning something new. I am forever grateful !
You are truly very creative and make an excellent instructor! I, literally, laughed out loud when your stamp slipped and you said,”Well, I guess that’s where it’s going”. That happens to me a lot. I dearly love this project. I learn soooooo many clever techniques from you. I appreciate your “thinking out loud” technique.
I don’t always comment, but sometimes videos are just worth more than a “thumbs up” & This is one of those times. When I want to find a tutorial, I’ve begun to come and search your videos to see if you have one similar to what I want to learn about because you are very thorough and clear with your teachings and demonstrations. I never find myself asking “how” or “why” from your videos. You are talented and knowledgeable and I’m very grateful to you for your willingness to share your knowledge and ideas with the crafting community. I’ll be honest, these pages looked super in-depth and a little intimidating, but once you broke the process down and answered how and why you did what you were doing, I began to feel like it was something that could actually be done by ordinary people like myself. So, thank you very much for sharing the exact process with us in a step by step fashion. I think you’re truly a brilliant crafter/maker/artist! 👍🏻👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you Jennifer for such positive feedback, its good to hear that people are finding my videos useful, I love to share and I’m always open to making a fool of myself whilst trying something new….but then when it goes right the rewards are great knowing that I’ve made it easier for myself and others to create and stressed less through the process.
OMG, that "medical" page is MUCH MORE than INSPIRING!!!! I am addicted to British tv, esp. crime dramas, which of course leads one down the rabbit hole of "Victorian" crime dramas, and this page is sending me into another realm entirely! Combining this genre with a little "Michael de Meng"-ish will bring me to the absolute HEIGHTS of delirium!!!!!!!! I cannot thank you enough!!!! MWAH!
You did an amazing job here. It does look like pages Edith wuld have made in this day and age. Thank you so very much for sharing. I really enjoyed creating along with you.
Ceri i am so glad i found your videos and i can't always afford kits and as i am new still trying too get ideas and you are magnificent person you have showing me i can make pages myself for a journal which i love what you do many thank . Jan from Australia
Hi, I'm new to your channel and wow I love this idea, especially the coffee stain effect, you could make an entire junk journal with these pages and in a hundred years from now they'll find it and think it is an ancient text with pictures.,
This is just wonderful! I haven't seen anything this interesting in a long time..... I love to see old journals and writings like this. You are brilliant in all you create, and I thank you for sharing this with others.
Love, love, love this idea. I watched Gayle's version earlier this morning and immediately clicked her link to yours. I am working on a journal with an 1830s Cornwall theme as a present, and was having trouble finding pages that were just right for my needs. These will work wonderfully, because the journal is a tribute to a novel with characters who have interests in both art and nature. I have been thinking of you a lot lately, and hoping that the heat is tolerable where you are, and that your region is not one plagued by fire. If I had three wishes, one of mine would be to host a tea party for you and Gayle. Not much in life could be more fun than that.
Lol….thank you Sharon, the heat has gone for a little bit but we’ve been warned its coming back, I’ve not heard of to many fires here in the UK so fingers crossed for the next set of hot days.
What a great idea you gave me for making journals with characters from novels. I read a lot of books and the visions in my head of the characters, locations, situations, etc stay with me. I think these would be good prompts for ideas. Thanks so much!
Loved the process of seeing these marvelous pages come together! Ceri your talent is unlike any I've seen on You Tube. Thank you for always sharing it with us.😊
Linda, thank you so much for your comment, I was blessed with a very creative imagination and I’m also inspired by many other artists on TH-cam so I’m hoping to never run out of content to share.
I just saw Julie's version of your idea on Camilia Crafts Designs and immediately had to watch your original inspiration. Brilliant work as always, Ceri. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
Tracie, that is high praise indeed thank you, your labels were the obvious choice and my first when it comes to digital labels, you’re a fantastic artist and we all appreciate all that you do for our community. Please feel free to post a link to your shop and rag in this post so that others can find you.
Really like the gist of this idea, have no stamps but do have nature sketches that can inspire small background images on my pages. Thanks for the push to help me think outside my comfortable little box.
I’m not an Edwardian Lady, or whatever….but I want one of her books. I saw the interior on another video and found It breathtaking. Hope Santa thinks I was a good girl this year!
Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas!! I am loving finding your previous video's with new ideas to me. Such inspiration!! Thank you, again!
My sister and I got together today to make some of these antiquarian pages to use in journals we're currently planning. It was so much fun and the final results were beautiful. They will add such a unique touch to our journals. Thanks again for the tutorial and for sharing your ideas.
Hello from New Zealand. These are fabulous Ceri. This technique would be a great way to make faux specimen cards. I'm definitely inspired and going to have a play. Thank you.
Brand new to your channel and must say I absolutely love it. Your ideas always have a refreshing twist to them and I love the fact that you are a man making journals.
Oh you’ve certainly given me inspiration and lots of good ideas for the first adventure into creating my ‘bits and bobs of my journey.’ Journal. I’m scribbling lots of notes from all your videos. Always a pleasure to watch and listen to you 😊 Maria
Wonderful pages. You explain your process so wonderfully and make creating accessible in a multitude of ways. Creating your own pages is rewarding and fun.
I love love love🤩 them, and the stories, I can see the people's walking into the fields whit their sketchbook, looking for perfect a sketch spot. Thank you Ceri.
This is fantastic. I have so many stamps and I like making my own ephemera, so this is an excellent way to customize handmade journals, especially when they are themed. I'm brimming with ideas, thanks so much!
It's amazing watching how you create these pages, they're so charming and unique, as others have said "Love these" and "I've never seen this before." And I'll add my "I'm going to make some of them." So many ways to make them personal and use stamps I have but didn't know what to do with. Thank you for your generosity, sharing in real time, too.
Thank you for sharing. I just love your work and thanks for sharing your thought process. I spent this Saturday, relaxing and reflecting on themes I would like to see on the pages. I so appreciate your gift.
Love these pages for my junk journals! Inspiring video. Came to your channel after watching Gayle A do this technique. Tim H would like it I’m sure! I hope to see him demonstrating next week at Stampaway USA in Ohio USA next week.
These pages are wonderful Ceri. They will really add interest to signatures and open up many opportunities to customize. Thank you for helping us spark ideas for our creative endeavours.
Thank you so much for sharing these great ideas! I can’t wait to try my hand making a few pages. I have just started making journals to sell in my booth and these pages would just make them so much nicer and interesting.
I’ve been sitting here waiting for the inspiration to happen. Well this video was the kickstart I needed. I have so many stamps that haven’t even been out of the package(it’s an obsession). Thanks as always.
I'm adding this one to my watch list.!!! This looks so great, Ceri. I have so enjoyed your videos. Tomorrow is going to be a snowy afternoon...and I can enjoy all this glorious work!
I love this idea, Ceri. I find myself wanting to use this on everything! Pages, greeting cards, corners. As others below have said, this is a unique idea, one I haven't seen before, and it is just stunning. Sparks inspiration and the desire to pull out all those stamps I don't use. Thank you, thank you, Ceri.
Great ideas that are simple to use! I was watching Gayle Agostinelli the other day in which she was stamping script on a background. I realized that's a great way to add depth. However, I almost exclusively use printable images with my pages. I thought about what to do. I found an old letter written in script online with a solid color background. Using Photoshop, I deleted the background color to where I just had the script image visible. I layered it over the background I was using, decreased the opacity of the words and, bingo!, I had a background with a ghost image of script on it. Thank goodness for TH-cam and channels like yours and Gayle's!
Hi Ceri again just like too say thank you for taking your time too explains this is why i love watching your channel and can't wait to see your next video
Ceri I love this, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful art! I watched Gayle this morning and came to your channel to watch your idea. I’ve been following you for a few months (thanks to Gayle) I think I may need to binge your older videos! Lol
You always have something wonderful to share. I've actually been decorating 5x7 index cards that I can then glue onto my signature pages. I can you scraps, washi tape or stains around the edge since it's a little smaller than my page or it makes a frame, but that way I don't have to worry about anything bleeding through. Love your old detective with crime scene evidence notes 😉.
You fulfilled your aim, because you really inspired me with these pages. You could have even stopped before adding the colored pencils and they would have been wonderful. The pencils give a subtle, almost faded look, which fits with the antiquarian look.
Ceri, Lark here. I have a big stamp collection & I store them in 3 ring binders on my book shelf. I get the binders at charity shops for cheap. I bought a box of page protectors & a pack of white cardstock. Also either Mylar pages or transparency film to fit the pages. I removed the stamps from their packaging & separated them by topic. I mounted them all very closely on the Mylar & inserted them into the card stock-lined protectors. The pages are heavy so 2 pieces of cardstock helps. But then I make a label for the spine of each binder & put them on the shelf. Bonus is the Tim Holtz stamp pages don't need remounted. Just an idea...happy creating!
Hello CERI, love your style . Right now im doing some Butterflies. I went and found my butterfly stamps after watching you make some for your stash. I would love some hot weather we have had snow and rain last 2 days. Take care.

Thank you and welcome to my channel.
Ceri, Thank you so much for your teaching today. I have been quite inspired by today's project.🎉
Wonderful!
Fabulous
I love this technique! Found your page through watching Gayle earlier. Love trying new ideas for using my stamps and will definitely give this a try!

Thank you Kim.
It was fun. Thank you
You fulfilled your aim, because you really inspired me with these pages. You could have even stopped before adding the colored pencils and they would have been wonderful. The pencils give a subtle, almost faded look, which fits with the antiquarian look.
Thank you, the coloured pencils just bring these pages to life for me.
These are so awesome Ceri. Thank you so much for quite a brilliant idea.
You’re welcome.
Sounds like a plan Lark thank you
Very inspirational. Love the way you explain your process.
Thank you
