Ok, there are many questions about the application process of alpha arbutin. Should it be applied on damp skin or dry skin? After talking to the Minimalist team, I can say with surety that it should be applied on clean and dry skin. The presence of HA in the formulation has caused a confusion, but, we have to take into account the pH of the actives. I used to apply alpha arbutin on damp skin as it caused dryness. However, I will apply AA on dry skin from the future. If your skin gets dry, apply good amount of moisturizer and an occlusive after the serum Thank you 💖
Yes same happened with me i used their 5%niacinamide on damp skin it cause me dryness as it also contains HA then I messaged them they say main ingredient is niacinamide so I shd use in dry skin ..
What do you mean by damp skin? Is it immediately after cleansing or after toning? You said everything but didn't say anything about how did you exactly used it either after cleansing or toning??

There's no such thing as teenagers "cannot" use alpha arbutin. Ofcourse early teens should steer clear from actives but late teens like 19 and 20-25 can incorporate it into their routine without any harm.
Hello 😊 I guess we have to agree to disagree. Because when I'm addressing a mass audience, I have a responsibility of people using the product without supervision. And I wouldn't want a teenager to use actives without supervision. I'm sorry but nobody can guarantee that an active won't cause any harm. You are right in a way, I should have said teenagers shouldn't use it instead of cannot.

Hey Aboli! You know, I've been using The Minimalist Alpha Arbutin for the past 2 months (Not religiously, though). I didn't notice any purging, however, I didn't see any changes in my skin, like I don't have acne scars or marks as such, but I didn't notice even a single change in my skin. My skin is the same as it was 2 months back. Just wanted to share my feedback about the product.

Hi I always watch ur videos and find them helpful and informative. I have a question. My skin is oily and sensitive yet I don't have any acne . My skin is textured as well as uneven with dark spots. I contacted be minimalist team and they suggest me alpha arbutin, niacinamide and lactic acid . I want to know whether is it safe to use more than one active at the same time and if yes then how to use it.
You can use arbutin and niacinamide along side ... It doesn't irritate most people but if you have sensitive skin then use alternate nights. Lactic acid of minimalist is 10% which is a bit high, if you don't irritate using acids on your skin use it about once a week. Else once in 10 days. Also you want to cleanse, tone, then use the exfoliant and wait for 10 mins before you use any active on top. If you still get irritation then you can use the acid for 10-15 mins and rinse it off with water then pat dry and use the serum followed by moisturizer. Go slow and your skin will build tolerance to the products then you might use then all together in the same night but it will take a long time to get to that stage.
I use the Ordinary Aha Bha peeling solution once a week. So if I skip this on the day I use the peeling solution. Will it be ok? (p.s I have a hyperpigmentation on the bridge of my nose and on my chin, my skin type is dry)

How to use minimalist vit c serum with alpha arbutin... For maximum benefits. Concern: I have severe discoloration and hyperpigmentation. My face is too dark from rest of the body. Especially under eyes and region around mouth...
You can use both at night. However using vit c in the day along with sunscreen gives your skin better protection that you need for the pigmentation. Also Arbutin works faster and vit c needs about a year to show significant results but using vit c is important. So if you don't see results with vit c immediately don't get discouraged it works under cover but results will show eventually. And you should keep using vit c regardless of your issues getting solved and even if you stop using Arbutin.

The pathways are pretty similar but Vit C helps to reduce dullness which AA does not give 💖

HI Riya, your hyperpigmentation will not come back. Melanin production will be restored, it will not cause hyperpigmentation.

You can use both at night. However using vit c in the day along with sunscreen gives your skin better protection that you need for the pigmentation. Also Arbutin works faster and vit c needs about a year to show significant results but using vit c is important. So if you don't see results with vit c immediately don't get discouraged it works under cover but results will show eventually. And you should keep using vit c regardless of your issues getting solved and even if you stop using Arbutin.
