Nice to see a setup guide for this, i was really surprised to find cutscenes and saving and loading work in MP too. There's actually a few ports of T1 missions to T2 you can use to play them coop, but i hope someone ports all of them one day. I feel like multiplayer thief is a really unique experience. Also if you want something designed around MP, check out the thievery mod for the original unreal tournament, it's basically thief MP where even the players can be guards if they want
I've heard of Thievery! Now that Unreal just went live again I might think of picking it up to see what's going on. Also I tested some of those T1 missions with the multiplayer and spoke to Marzec of Thief Guild about getting them up somewhere on the site.
A Woman Named Victoria is my favourite track of Thief 1. Has sampling from the Orinoco Flow, apparently. Finally a good youtube tutorial on installing Thief 2 multiplayer, thank you! Multiplayer focused missions were planned in development of Thief 1/2, would be epic to see if come to full realisation with interesting interactions like you mentioned.
Thank you! I found it odd that there was a bunch of people playing T2MP but there wasn't an actual video tutorial on how to set it up. Always seemed like a niche fringe thing you'd only see in forums.
When you say that there is potential here, it just hit me that, yes, it would! Considering the current landscape of multiplayer game, a game like that would totally have its place and could be a ton of fun! ... But I'm not a game dev, so I'm not about to make the lethal company of thievery that just hit me.
@@mvsnake I'd actually say the closest we got to the lethal company version of thief would maybe be PILGRIM, but that game doesn't have the same level of systems and mechanics to really say that accurately (not yet anyway; it's in very very early access) In terms of similar systems, I'd say maybe Hunt: Showdown? I know it's really played like any other extraction shooter now but there are systems in place that can lead to a plethora of unique situations and gunfights to get into
