I visited Greenville back in 2020, and I knew I wanted to live here. I just sold my house north of Chicago, and I arrived in Greenville last night. I decided to rent a room for three months to give myself time to look for a job and to scope out the right area for me.
Just moved here from same area as you!! We felt the same, if you’re not rich don’t do it!! Houses way too expensive so is rent, they pay crap, too many applying to those crap paying jobs. We wish we didn’t, you will go from loving it to being depressed. Take my advice or find out the hard way!! Good luck!!
I live in CT & visited Greenville in December. I fell in ❤with it! I have to say that I was able to walk around in a heavy hoodie while there but had to put my heavy winter coat on when I came back 🥶. Greenville is a very beautiful city. I hope to move there in the next yr or 2.
@@krystalgoethe8007 oh it’s definitely not country! Watch lots of TH-cam videos & you’ll see how beautiful it is. They take pride in their city & it shows! I recommend taking a trip to see for yourself!
@@krystalgoethe8007 oh and the people there are very friendly! Lots of ppl that are from different states but Greenville is big on southern hospitality so don’t be surprised when people actually look you in the face & say hello with a smile 😊

Thank you for digging a little deeper to those nuances (traffic congestion in certain areas versus others) that aren't normally mentioned, but will make a difference. Good job.
Living in Greenville is wonderful. The interstates are very easy to get to. The traffic can be a little rough at times. The taxes are not that bad especially if you have moved here from a much larger city .
@@joelsandler1119 😂 No, no, no! Clem's Son is ORANGE. THE University of South Carolina is garnet and black. Furman is purple. Go Gamecocks! Although Clem and his son's are swarming in the Upstate. We moved to Cincinnati nearly a decade ago (my husban'd's hometown) for family reasons, and it's been a love/hate relationship here for me. Anyway, we are finally talking retirement and South Carolina (my home state) is #1, and Greenville is also our 1st choice. We lived there for 22 years and loved it. People will not know Greenville, until they experience it first hand. From Woodruff Rd being level 9 of Dante's Inferno, to Wade Hampton being level 7. Then there's Academy, I85, etc. Traffic has dramatically increased, please tell them how expensive Greenville is, how it's undergoing gentrification and growing like NY. Yes, there is crime here to. @@livinginsouthcarolina I'm looking to move to S.C. in a year or two. I laugh every time someone says the traffic is crazy there. The WHOLE state of S.C. has only 5 million folks living there. Until the South starts to get near that kind of population density I'll take crazy S.C. traffic any day over regular So. California traffic. 1) Mosquitos are mainly around still bodies of water (think ponds). Mostly not an issue around Greenville 2) Roaches are here. But, a clean house with pest treatment will keep it from being a problem 3) No gators in these parts
it won't be 80% intolerant race-obsessed communists like you're used to in New England. Most people would find it to actually be more diverse, in that sense.
This is the south. Black population is really high. In some small towns they are the majority. This state is more diverse than most northeast and midwest states. When people bring up diversity, it just makes me laugh. Hello this is the south. Its been diverse for a long time. This is not a mountain state!
Coming from California and Oregon I found the traffic noise to me ridiculous in Greenville. Warning, people here like to put glass packed mufflers which vibrated through your own home on a constant basis. As well as playing music with the most bass you've ever heard which due to the low frequency penetrates through all walls in your home. Super annoying. Worst drivers here as well so if you come from Any big cities you'll find the car insurance even greater here since it's not law to have car insurance so the rest of us make up for it. And if you watch the local news you'll hear about hit and runs and car deaths several times a day.😢 And fyi the humidity goes from.Late May through First week of Oct. Which sucks big time.
You have to have insurance I don't know who told you that but if you get pulled over and don't have it you will get fined plus I love my loud camero and the summer humidity, but the drivers here do suck big time.

Is that for Clemson and Furman Universities?
