I've drafted 2 players outside of the 1st that turned out to be Superstar Dev players. One in the 4th and one in the 6th. It's definitely super rare though.
I found a Superstar x factor in like the 5th. But his true talent was a first round pick. I just left it up to the game will just throw Tom Brady like players into the draft every few years.
Was doing a franchise and like 3 years in and drafted a random 68 overall RB in the 3rd or 4th round, was surprised when he was hidden and more surprised when it ended up being superstar.
Madden 20 has a better draft system (in my opinion) than some previous games. A lot more steals in the draft, and I like the fact that there are still hidden development on players that are below 70, and every player that's 75+ won't have a star+ like previous years. Does your team need a low overall with good dev that might be a star later, or a 75+ with normal that'll help now? That's why I loved drafting in madden 20 when I had the beta. Can't wait for it to come out
I got hidden development on a 58 LE and he had superstar development. Sometimes you can just get lucky. Hes now a 88 in my franchise after 4 years and has an xfactor
I agree but they should sprinkle in more historic players that's my biggest gripe. The Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson, Mario Williams is NEVER in any class. Why can DK Metcalf be the strongest WR in the game but also have like 96 speed at 6'3, you won't draft anyone like him in the game even though these players are more prominent. Some RBs over 230 should run a 4.3 every 5-10 yrs, same for a 6'5 230lb WR. Give us more historic prospects instead of caps across the board. It would be fun if in an online league with multiple people a guy like that came along that made everyone trade up to get.
One thing I love doing is drafting/scouting other positions for another one. Example: My base defense is the Dollar 3-2-5, so for my ROLB I need more pass coverage/Zone ability, so I scout SS for my OLB position and find guys way faster with much higher starting zone than any OLB. At least Madden has gotten more flexible with things like that to make it fun. I do the same for speed rushers at OLB I scout to be DE pass rushers. Just something that helps broaden your pool when scouting and give you a few more options.
A hint on getting unlimited draft picks for the 1st round: Sign free agents(72-78) overalls, then look for team needs for every other team. If you want a 1st rounder trade the free agent(let’s say a lolb) and a second round pick and every time you’ll get that 1st round pick. You can do this repeatedly as the free agent board resets every single week. You can do this anywhere in the draft.
Got a WR in 7th round pick 26, his initial overall was 58 but hidden gem. He ended up being rookie of the year, and now year three he is superstar and 82 overall.
Just re: your first point I know it's possible Madden did an update since the video but TONS of players mentioned in the papers are now normals or just a star. I drafted a CB who was the son of an Olympic Sprinter and was just a Normal. It used to be a dead giveaway now you can't assume that anymore.
@@iZxrzz yea but the point was to the video which was the thought of guys in the paper are the best dev guys just because they are in the paper, which was def true previously. He isn't the only one I've gotten who was a normal from the papers
Something I found out when drafting wrs is that you can avoid spending points in "heavy" deep threats, almost 100% guaranteed a +205lbs won't be as fast as he should be as a good deep threat
Always been a huge fan of your play style in madden. You're not all about the year 1 superstar team, you rebuild through time and create a 3 to 4 year build up of stars and I judt love that "rely on development" type style. And I'm a big defensive man too btw (I play middle linebacker so running defense is my thing)
Hindsight is 20-20 but taking blocking TEs is one of the best late round moves. They’re usually solid 70-something OVR guys with those same stats all across the board and make great TE3s for stretch runs.
Love what you did here: Very in-depth, reminds me of ESPN draft programs. Sim-gamers can hope that what is old will be new again, and the sport gaming industry will return to logic and deep thinking as entertainment. I have this playing as I am working on something else and it is getting me pumped to go and play.
While field general is my preferred type. I draft the scramblers and improvisers before the field generals. I prefer having a mobile quarterback. And convert them into field generals. That way they eventually get up to 99 throw power and accuracy and all that. But they also have scrambling potential. Something you don't get with field general QB's.
Just did a draft last night and got a 75 overall running back in the 3rd round that turned out to be a superstar x factor. I had the dolphins with their 3 first round picks and got another SSXF corner. The rest of my picks were star and superstar.

hey Bengal. Love all the vids! If you draft someone who is not a scheme fit, when it comes time to upgrade, should you upgrade to make them closer to your scheme, or just make them better at what they're already good at?
Btw tre sermon has barley more rushing yards than swift throughout their careers. Plus more touchdowns. An that's him being behind rodney Anderson an Kennedy Brooks for the past two years. So being a part time running back meanwhile swift had a whole season being a premiere back an sermon still has better stats. Look it up numbers dont lie
Hey Bengal I have a quick question when will u make more draft classes I'm thinking @ least 4 buddy. I wanna say u did a awesome job on the 2020 class keep up the good work 💯

Where was this Linebacker class during the Giants rebuild lol
The thing about the new Grade scale logic is if A is relative to that year's draft class, then there should be A or A- grades for cornerbacks as well
Yeah, and tight ends. That debunks that theory. Do trainers have any bearing on this? Like a level 30 trainer will be more accurate than a level 1?

iM LOW KEY EXCITED ABOUT THIS. sKIPPED OUT ON MADDEN 19 BECAUSE THATS MY WAY OF STICKING IT TO EA LOL, BUT I LOVE MADDEN AND I LOVE FOOTBALL!!!!! CANT WAIT TO GO HOME AND TRY THIS OUT, NOW DID THEY FIX FRANCHISE GETTING STALE AFTER A FEW SEASONS??????
No
Wuz good homie enjoy the videos I play the hell outta franchise. Is it better to be a coach or owner???? I've noticed alot of ur personnel changes without notice being a owner.
Vincent Phillips they had holyfield
Finally get to play it tonight!
I'm not first but Bengal is a dad😍
What draft class is this? Is this a auto class or made. Pretty awesome
Hey Bengal I have a quick question when will u make more draft classes I'm thinking @ least 4 buddy. I wanna say u did a awesome job on the 2020 class keep up the good work 💯
What’s the musics that plays in the background?
hey man, loving the madden content....where in jersey are you kid?
Nobody's gonna tell some weirdo on TH-cam where they live, my God 🤣🤣😂😂
I know it’ll be hard but time stamp by position would be awesome
I got one in the second pick 1 it was a QB from Alabama
Shocker
What do I press to unlock the the player grades
Are those thr only specs we can scout? I remember in madden 15 I could scout literally all their stats including speed catching acceleration and all that jazz. Is that gone now?
Dr Cake the three grades that show up are the ones you scout since you want to know the best stats of the player
Animations dont have anything to do with the development I've seen people have both arms up but they only have star development
That's because it was patched. Previously, when this video was uploaded, animations revealed their development traits.
