I have had this mat for several years having purchased it at a Quilt, Sew, & Craft Expo. I absolutely love this mat ( I even have used it for paper with a different rotary cutter of course!) I recently made a purse using real denim fabric from jeans. Although they have been washed hundreds of times, the blue color is not all over my white mat. I have also noticed after all this time, I have grooves on the lines.... I use it a lot! I had thought there was a way to clean it up some. Thanks
