Testosterone TRT and Fertility - The 3 most important things to know in 2 minutes

First, to produce normal amounts of healthy sperm, a man must produce the correct hormones from the pituitary gland and testosterone from the testicles. This is an extremely important point. Men need a really high level of testosterone INSIDE THE TESTICLES for sperm production but testosterone alone cannot start or maintain sperm production
If a man is taking #testosterone supplements by ANY method #trt patches, gels, shots whatever, they will suppresses the production of the pituitary hormones which in turn, causes the high levels of testosterone inside the testicles to plummet.
The resulting testosterone levels in the blood are not nearly high to produce sperm but even if they were - there are still no hormones from the pituitary gland to help out.
This results in a suppression of sperm production so pronounced that it can actually be used as a male contraceptive. Let's put that another way. If a group of men is taking testosterone supplements, the sperm production will drop to 0 in nearly 90% of them. That’s no sperm. At all.

The good news is that most men who have no sperm will recover after they stop using. But most is not all. Even a year after stopping, some men will still have no sperm or very low levels of sperm leaving them infertile.
Rescue medications like Clomid, hCG and hMG may help speed up the time it takes to resume sperm production but it doesn’t work for everybody. The longer you used and the higher dose, the greater the chance that you might not recover.
What’s the take home? If you are thinking about having children in the future, try to stay off testosterone supplements. If you must take T. Use as low a dose as possible for as short a time as possible. Go off of testosterone several months before you want to attempt pregnancy.

Age 35 after 10 years on heavy doses of testosterone and Decca , anapalon , dianabol I stopped everything for 6 weeks, took 5000 iu of HCG and 100 mg of Proviron and our first attempt after 6 weeks off steroids we got pregnant and had a healthy baby , went back on testosterone happy days

also making another appointment with urologist to maybe prescribe clomid. in 3 months if im still not producing sperm i figure ill just quit trt for 6months or a year.
You took 5000iu of hCG at one time?? I’m currently on trt at 200mg/week and taking 100iu of hCG per week and have been trying for a couple months now with no luck. 5000iu is an entire bottle of my hCG.
I don't understand how long Clomid should be used for. It would appear that if your baseline is low, using a SERM would be long term similarly if you used TRT.
Can you explain exactly how those medications help with sperm production? It’s very hard to find resources on what kind of medication men can use for sperm production.
@Matthew Sparks hcg is an analog of a pituitary hormone and works on the testes. Clomid and nolva work by blocking estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus to stimulate the pituitary stimulating hormone. None work directly on the pituitary gland

Was on TRT for a decade and just got off 1 month ago. Had 1 child before starting. My lady wants kids, I said ok. I'm taking everything there is, excepy HMG cuz the price. Not feeling so good fellas. No clue how this gonna play out. Getting initial bloods taken 1.5 months after last pin of TRT (2 weeks from now).. If i feel like this for 3+ months and still at 0 sperm, i give up. Need your prayers fellas. And if u want updates, ill give em.

HCG or HMG if he can get it could be an adjunct to the Clomid that could work.

I've been on TRT for a year today. I started at 200mg a week (from a doctor) and lowered myself after about 8 months to 120 a week because of acne etc.. I still feel great. Just got a seaman analysis and I went from 133,000,000 sperm per sample to 0... like "no sperm detected in this sample". Uh oh. Trying to conceive, so this sucks. So now it's definitely time to jump on HCG. If that doesn't work, Clomid time.

this wont work. Clomid helps bring natural testosterone levels back to normal after an extended period of time using steroids. A vasectomy will prevent sperm regardless of your testosterone levels…
Research how a vasectomy is. You are screwed Mate 😅
A failed vasectomy reversal means you still have the snip. No drugs can fix that.
I was on Test enanthate 750mg a week, Nandrolone 400mg a week, and Tren acetate 300mg a week and got my wife pregnant 3 times. I must be one of the lucky ones.

Yes, and in fact my physician had both his 'surprise' kids while blasting it... that being said, I got my results back today and I went from 1,330,000 sperm before T to 0 (no sperm detected) in my sample... which sucks because i am trying to have kids.

Not very long.. I started a year ago with a baseline of 1,330,000 sperm.. today it was at 0 (no sperm detected). Hoping when I start HCG will jumpstart that back up.

Every three weeks is a pretty long time between doses. I’d talk to him about breaking that up into once a week or possibly even twice.

I would get your Sperm levels checked to be on the safe side.
I have been on testosterone since January 2017. Got my first daughter in 2020 without coming off and can confirm she's mine (did a paternity test).
