I'm 40, trt changed my life for the positive. I was physically depressed , not mentally. Doctors kept trying to put me on anti depression pills. Finally went to a good doctor who put me on trt. I started to be happier, cloudy mind went away, more motivated, lost a ton of weight, and blood pressure went down..
Yeah agree.... just turned 40 and been on TRT for 3 years. Depression gone, better sleep, better energy....Ive slacked here and there on lifting and I'm trying to get back on a regular schedule. Sex drive is good as well. I'm on a lower dose as well... .5ml a week...
Theres not much difference between thinking about yourself too much and depression. Stop living a self-serving life and you'll live a more fulfilling life.
Started TRT in Feb at 52 when my levels were below 100 prescribed by my endocrinologist. Tested my levels on Halloween and my total was 1189, free - 181, SHBG - 34, Estrogen 104, Red and White blood cell count all within range with zero sides. I take 80mg per week and have never felt better. I do eat clean, lift heavy and walk 3 miles per day.....CONSISTANTLY. When done correctly and under a doctor's care, TRT is life changing.
@@wford8987 My estrogen is low, very low, 104 on a scale where the highest is 402 pg/mL per my endocrinologist and the scale, I’m comfortably in the green. I have zero belly fat and maintain around 12% BF.
I lost my entire reproductive organs on a deployment in Afghanistan. I rely on TRT weekly to maintain healthy levels for my hormone therapy. It helps a lot.
Im 43. I do body weight workouts 5 to 6 days a week religiously. I surf as much as I can, probably 3 to 4 days a week for at least 3 hours a session. I eat extremely healthy. I have more energy then I know what to do with. I recommend going the natural route for as long as possible. Once you start this stuff you cant go back. Eat healthy and workout as much as possible.
Yeah its sad because thats all the industry is about short cuts. What these guys dont admit is they use these short cuts and now their bodies is jacked up. If u never touch this stuff the human body produces all the things they need
?! the comon rethoric :"Sure I m on a gear but I work my butt off at the gym!"...It's ludicrous...without the PED those guys could not sustain more than 45 minutes of intense trainning and their muscles could not recover and grow (for at least 99% of people)...Nothing against people taking roids but give us a break and don't tell us like Arnold that the Roids just count for 5% on getting the results and the rest is just hard work and comitment...
@@JohnDoe-dp4kxthe rhetoric is common because it’s true. I get where you’re coming from, truly, but I know a ton of dudes on gear that look natty, or like they don’t even train. You have to be disciplined in diet, training, and sleep when you’re on gear, same as a natty. And if you’re being smart about it and trying to mitigate risk, you’re getting bloods done pre and post cycle, your watching your kidney values, liver values, triglycerides, lipids, blood pressure, red blood cell count, etc. you’re doing cardio every day, managing estrogen, there’s so much more that goes into it than the typical rhetoric of “he is only big cause he takes gear.” Most dudes that look insane, are putting insane amounts of work into it. Would they look the same natty? Of course not. But dudes like Chris would look better natty than 90% of enhanced dudes you see at your local gym. Not trying to be confrontational, just my two cents
@@JohnDoe-dp4kx well not 5% i think more but there's fat power lifters, strong men competitors, Olympic lifters that lack in areas, they all use steroids and are on diets. But, none look as aestetic as Mr. Olympia. The training, knowledge, and diet make the difference. Yeah steroids help a lot but you won't become a pro body builder using and sitting on your butt eating chips and drinking soda everyday.
@@JohnDoe-dp4kxhard work and commitment is absolutely everything. Where you’re getting the notion of gear being the key source here is what’s actually ludicrous. There are plenty of people out here using and take their diet and recovery half assed and guess what? Their results look half assed as well. If gear played such a dramatic role in the world of gym culture we’d all be in the Olympia by now. Gear is not and has never been the biggest key player in bodybuilding. The sooner people understand that the better people will look and feel.
36 just completed 12 weeks on TRT and I’m now just feeling the side effects and all of them positive. My levels were 320 before I started, pretty low and wasn’t feeling so hot. Low energy, low libido, slow muscle growth, weight gain, brain fog, depression etc. definitely agree if you’re 35+ and have Low T doesn’t hurt to give it a go. All my issues were corrected.
@@SWOTHDRA theres no set age for trt. Theres teenagers that r prescribed trt at young ages because their hypogonadal. Look at steff efferding he got on it at at 18 n changdd his life . Im 30 n i just started my level was 299 and i tried for a whole year tsking natural supplements n everything but it only went up to 350 when i was do8ng everything right given the fact i had like 25 percent body fat but now im 15 pounds less , same strength way more cut n like 6 or 7 percent less body fat from just 2 months
Thank god for people like Chris. Too many young guys are jumping on steroids or 'TRT' even though their natural test levels are fine. You can build a great natty physique, there's really no need to do gear unless you want to compete or your income relies on being
@@josephkhoshghalb3962no one should have to use it if they don’t need it. And most people aren’t going to be Mr Olympia they don’t have the genetics for it. Young men don’t think about long term they think if they feel fine now while on roids they will be fine down the line which is not the case. Ronnie Coleman and Phil Hearn both didn’t use steroids until after 30 they even preach about waiting until your body has reached its natural limit and has slowed down growth.
Very true. Totally agree. The ego can be a slippery slope. Keep it in check . So many youngsters with so much social media are just programmed by an image . Its not health. Training is lifelong. The enjoyment of it. Health matters more than image.
I’ve been on TRT for a few years. I’m 36. If you ever have that feeling where your legs feel constantly tired, that’s what it was for me constantly. Once I got on TRT, that feeling completely disappeared. I’m not going to say motivation all of a sudden appeared, but it’s so much easier to go do something and be productive. I also gained about 20lbs since. 😄
As a 10+ year gym goer i decided i would not take any enhancement or trt unless i was going to compete or medically needed it there's always a side effect.
@@Andrew-pv8oz what? I had mine tested it was on the low end of the natural limit i still have made good gains at the gym in strength and size compared to the average person, there are lifestyle changes i can make to improve my testosterone levels but ultimately i wouldn't want to be on the high end of the natural limit, i would take TRT if it was medically recommended but for now that not something i want to add into my like
I never really knew this guy aside from the fact that he is Mr. Olympia but boy am I so glad and surprised to listen to him say stuff about steroids and supplements exactly the way I've been seeing it. It gives that solid confirmation with a big stamp of approval. I had to rely on my intuition since there are so many information on this topic. Chris Bumstead really nailed it on this one.

You got guys like Sam Sulek who is an absolute monster, just turned 21 and is heavily on the sauce. The guy has a massive following of teenagers on social media who are watching everything he does and copying it. I think social media is responsible for kids taking gear at a young age.
He might be filthy rich NOW but the kids he is influencing may not be. His health may be so impacted before he even hits 30 that his wealth will be spent trying to get his health back.
I’m 42, forgot which pro I heard say it’s not worth it unless you’re one of the top pros and even then it doesn’t pay as much as other less risky sports. luckily was a hardcore bodybuilding fan and understood the risk, knew being a pro wasn’t my long term career plan and made the choice to stay natural. All my buddies that did cycles are fat or weak or need trt. I’m still close to the same weight, look and strength as my prime in my early twenties. Everything still in good working order if you get me
Out of highschool I was super scrawny, 6’3 & about 150 pounds. After my first cycle I was over 200. It’s a huge benefit but once you get off you lose that drive to keep working out & become super lazy. It’s great being on it but it really sucks getting off
Same experience after 14 week Primo/Test/Var cycle. Shrunk a bit afterward tho. Hardly any side effects after stopping. Guess if you’re young, bounce back is easier.
Never had any lack of motivation when I get off, you have to know that of course you are going to lose a bit of size, pump and strength, but still, if you keep training while suplementing with HCG during cycle, and then use clomid, your levels will bump back up in 2-3 months, it's all about getting through those months.
@@Givven okay well you don’t represent everyone on the planet, that was my experience so I shared it to help younger people understand. most of your gains are water weight at least in my case so it’s not even really all 100% muscle. not worth taking at all.
I did TRT a few years ago, for insomnia, then I cycled off of it. Since then, I've gotten married and we're trying to have a child, and have been for over a year, but it's incredibly difficult as my spermcount dropped to unregisterable levels. I'm currently taking Clomid to try to bring my natural test back up and hoping for the best. I never thought I wanted kids, but here we are. Do your research. If you plan on having children, DO NOT TAKE TEST.
Yea sure ive been on test since i was 19 yrs old and i have 3 kids and im 35 now. Search up baby making protocol. My bro had zero sperm count and voila he has a healthy beautiful baby girl now like couple of weeks ago. Do your proper research bro!!!
Started TRT about 6 weeks ago and as a 42 year old man it’s been a game changer. A weird side effect has been zero cravings for alcohol where I regularly craved a drink. Not sure if that’s just all in my head for TRT has made me feel 1,000 times better.
Hearing this podcast reminds of the days I use to compete in bodybuilding (80's, early 90's). There were "underground" books that you could get to help you with acquiring knowledge on steroids, dosages, cycles, types, etc., but it was very difficult to find. It was mostly trial and error or talking to other bodybuilders who used. I remember a magazine back in the day called Muscle Media 2000 that was really good and would talk about steroids, supplements, etc. that was great.
Dan Duchaine...The UG Steroid Handbook printed on no copy paper. lol people used to xerox that entire book and share it among friends. BP also exposed the whole gay for pay thing nobody wants to talk about to this day. 👍
Steroids have been a game-changer in my fitness routine, providing the extra edge I needed to advance more rapidly. When used with careful planning and consideration for overall health, they can be a powerful tool for anyone serious about reaching their peak potential.
Test Enan is commonly used in hormone replacement therapy to address low testosterone levels, promoting muscle growth and improving overall well-being. Tren, on the other hand, greatly enhances muscle size and strength. Speeds up recovery from injuries as well.
Totally agree. Steroids helped me recover faster and maintain muscle mass, especially during intense training or after injury. It's amazing how they can support bone health as well, which is crucial for people with conditions like osteoporosis.
There’s no doubt to the benefits of steroids. Honestly, it has greatly impacted my life. It played a major role in achieving my desired physique. People should learn not to abuse these substances and act like they are all bad.
Hey everyone, I’m looking for reliable sources for both steroids and protein supplements. I know it’s crucial to be cautious with these, especially with steroids, so I want to make sure I’m getting them from trustworthy sources. For protein supplements, I’m also interested in recommendations for reputable brands. Any suggestions or advice on where to find safe and high quality options?
If there's anything I learned from Clash of Clans it's not to rush your town hall... Max out everything you can first otherwise you'll be chasing gains in a constant, baseline level deficit. You're putting your body in a continuous disadvantage forever in small or possibly big ways you can't fathom.
Trt is an easy cop out for problems brought on by poor diet and lack of strenuous exercise. Thanks to ultra processed foods, lack of real meat dairy etc and a sedentary lifestyle. Added to that, stress and a lack of sleep.
Sometimes. But an otherwise healthy 45 year old, with a total T level below 200 ng/dl is not going to get into a normal range with altered lifestyle. It is interesting that the worldwide drop in T levels tends to occur in lockstep with the move to service-based economies. So your point on the lack of physical activity has some data behind it. I don't know that we have enough data to pin a tag on processed foods, but my instinct agrees with yours. We just need better data - and a mechanism - to point that finger. That said, there are a ton of known reasons to avoid them. No need to wait.
Maybe. I started with a complete diet change. Already was a 5 day a week gym junky. A friend suggested that first. Meat/veggies-low carb/minimal processed food if any and lots of water/plenty of sleep for 2 years starting at age 32. After not improving same buddy suggested I get my T checked. I put it off and put it off but I just kept feeling run down. Got it done a few times 2 years later and clocked in between 280-320. At age 34 I finally got on TRT after my new Physician explained to me I had the testosterone levels of a 70 year old man lol. I was on it for 2 years and felt so much better after they got it up to the 600-700 range. Ended up moving and had to discontinue for about a year. Went to a Urologist through a referral. Tested again. Back down to low 300s. That was at age 37. I’m now 40. On very low dose of TRT currently 100mg a week, 2 pins of 50mg per week. Sitting roughly 500-600 2 days after pinning. Hemoglobin hasn’t been over 16 yet. For some of us…our balls stop delivering. I feel good though. Work out 6 days a week. Still going with same diet. Very few complaints for being 40 other than I’m not retired. Take care.
I will say to your post. I agree, going with a solid low carb/meat-veggie diet plus exercise is a good route to try first. That being said everything around us has chemicals that disrupt our hormones. I’m sure you can go through a normal household and find-shampoo/deodorant/body wash/hair gel/lotion/cleaning supplies/detergent/dryer sheets…I mean you name it. Scan those products with one of those apps that tell you what chemicals are in them. I would be willing to bet 90% have some negative effect on your hormone and reproduction. When’s the last time you searched your public water you shower in everyday? I have a filter on my shower head and don’t drink tap water. If I actually told friends and family that they would think I’m crazy. But your tap water has chemicals that negatively affect your hormone and reproductive system. We shower/drink/wash our dishes and clothes in it. My point being is these things are around us 24-7. Diet and exercise might not be enough. Long gone are the days of our grandparents and great grandparents where you got your water from a well-grew your own vegetables-bought meat from a local butcher and natural cleaning products.
Yeah agreed. People in the comments saying they are on trt in their 30s is ridiculous. I'd say you shouldn't be doing it until you're over 45. My test levels significantly improved just by going from 5-6 hours sleep a night to 8-9 hours.
Around 38 I started feeling not myself. Brain fog, depression etc. I’ve had friends that were on TRT at the time. I didn’t wanna pull the trigger on it because I was competitive weightlifting and I’m a pilot but still the time, I didn’t know I could be on TRT and it was approved by the FAA. About a year ago I retired from competitive weightlifting and about 6 months ago I started TRT and Semorelin and holy shit I feel amazing. Much more clear minded, starting to lose weight around the belly, no depression, lifting has been amazing, not to mention my health insurance covers all my TRT treatments, not the peptides though. What really blew me away is, not all health insurances will cover it, yet they’ll cover poisons going into your body to mask the symptoms, and your PC doctors won’t give them to, you because your T fall in the “normal range” but they’re fast to give you antidepressants which I poison. But I do understand why they do it.
There is no excuse for every man to not be given the option to go on TRT by his PCP if he so chooses. If a man wants to, he will do it anyway but would be forced to do it “illegally” from sources that may not be so trustworthy.
I'm 39 and I've been working out since I was 26. I love my progress and physique. Did blood work to check testosterone and its 897 lmao. Eggs are the most powerful food ever specially the yolk. Eat whole eggs on their own with out carbs.
I have similar level and I eat a lot of eggs too haha. At 38yo level is high 700 - low 800, but Free T is more important, mine is at middle or so, could be better. What is you FT level. Carbs are important for recovery too, no need to avoid it too much.
It is absolutely PHENOMENAL to see Chris on this podcast and sharing this information with the world. Love this show and you guys get tremendous guests. Please keep up the great work!

I went from 334 to 960 in around 3 months all natural no TRT. This book should be essential reading for all men. Written by a 50s guy with natural T levels higher than most 20s guys Complete guide to testosterone by james Francis The guy who really cracked the code to testosterone
Years of working nights in my 20s depression and always feeling weak I checked my testosterone and it was 265. Got on trt at 32 now I’m a different person

You shouldn't be doing trt in your 30s man. Your lifestyle was the issue. Get 8-9 hours of sleep a night, clean up your diet, be active with some weights, and have a healthy sex life. You'll see your test levels naturally skyrocket.
Just look at Vin Diesel between movies from a decade ago. As soon as he was off the juice, all his muscle disappeared within a few weeks and he had a gut. That was crazy to me, since I used to rigorously work out in my early thirties, until having kids, not so much now in my early forties. Yet, I STILL have the majority of the muscle I built in my thirties and it's never "gone away". I've never taken a steroid in my life.
Same here..been exercising since 13..im 50 now and my testosterone is checked monthly because i had my thyroid removed. TEST is 681. Which is GREAT for my age. NO roids or TRT ever. But these guys are in the comment section talking about 1100!! And theyre 39 years old taking TRT. Goddamm.

@@Stierenkloot I've heard that theory before. Luckily I've used both testosterone (for over 5 years) and clomid so I can make a good comparison. Clomid definitely boosts my libido and energy without raising my blood pressure and hematocrit. Clomid also boosts spermcount, while exogenous testosterone lowers it. Not saying it's for everyone but it could be a viable alternative for testosterone. There are several articles online about this issue.
I am 57 years old, work out 3 times a week, walk 40 minutes daily, eat 5 times a week in-house cooked food, read meat 2 times a week, I am 6”1 weight 197 lbs. I don’t feel the need to take steroids or TRT, my wife is 18 years younger than me. If I go over 205 lbs and I don’t sleep well because of stress, my energy, most likely, my testosterone goes down.
35 here, been active/working out since 15. 180lbs 6 feet tall. Started at 230lbs then when i hit 22, i dropped to 180 and been that way ever since. No drugs/peds/trt, it can be done if you put in the work and adapt a healthy lifestyle.
First time I've seen your pod. And I watch many. Gained a subscriber. You are one of the few that ask all the right questions. I'm 39 years old. Been training consistently for about 11 years , by that I mean usually 5 times a week during that time. Getting harder now slightly I'm getting closer to 40, so more like 4 days a week. When you train that often and for that long you do become in tune with your body. And I have noticed I need more of a mental push to get there now. I am fairly happy with my physice and strength levels. Push myself most sessions whilst being mindfully. Nutrition is key, adequate minerals. I see many young people on test/steroids now. Don't seem to have the mental strength to go at it without untill their 40s. Trt is basically cruising for many now. I have contemplated trt. Had my levels checked and I am near the low end. I'm glad I havnt touched any yet and and still happy with performance and gains albeit getting harder. But then again it should I'm getting older. I plan on holding off on trt for as long as possible. At least untill my 40s.longer if poss. But with the research I've done I believe there will come a time where it will be beneficial health wise to jump on. I think a lot of young people only see hear and read the positives. What they want to hear really. There are so many negatives especially jumping on young. The hard work mental strength commitment and realistic expectations seems to be lacking in these young kinds. No guidence maybe. By the way body building supplement wise I can attest that Creatine does work, is healthy, not just for the muscle but for the brain, and is safe so is worth it. Protein as well but no way near as much as is pushed. One shake a day for me, mixed with flax, honey, olive oil, oats, peanut butter. People don't understand the value of a calorie. If you are overweight in any way do you really think you need more protein because you work out?.. No is the answer. And it can take an hour on the treadmill to burn a packet of crisps. So understand the value of a calorie
I'm 55, just started trt a month ago. Why? I had a 150 level. I exercise physically at work, i don't drink, smoke or do any drugs. Eat extremely healthy, no corn syrup, no fast food. No soy. Mostly ribeye n tritip, burgers chicken. Vitamins and various supplements. Seems to be helping already. Fingers crossed. I definitely need a lot more understanding. Couldn't figure out why I was so tired and not growing physically.
I am 60 and starting to feel the same way. I still work out fairly hard but only Like 3 to four times a week plus swimming and walking and super clean diet. I just don’t make any gains anymore and really having a hard time losing my stomach fat. I am thinking I need to get tested as well. But I’m afraid to start for two reasons, one is we want to have a child, wife is 32 and the second is the fear of cancer and this has been fairly well documented
Depends. I'm on clomid, 12.5 mg a day, and if I stop, my test levels don't crash because clomid actually forces your body to produce more natural testosterone.
My balls got real small and I lost hair. But when I stopped cold turkey after 2 months everything went back to normal even my drive. I was only on it for 8 months though. Um I didn't workout at all and one day after a shower I looked in the mirror and I looked like a marvel super hero not lying. I had a huge upside down / triangular shaped upper body with popping shoulders ,traps arms, and a tapered waist.
Balls will shrink but they’ll go back to normal after a month. Depending on how long you use it. I’ve known ppl to do it for a year on TRT. Stopped and later had T’s checked. It was still higher than before they took TRT.
I did steroids on and off for a couple years in my mid 20s. Been off for around 4 years, no pct. My test levels tested multiple times and I’m always low end of normal. 280s give or take. Felt lethargic, unmotivated, lost a lot of weight and muscle. I just learned to deal with it. Now 30 just starting TRT with my doctor. Hoping to start to feel my age again!
You certainly will! I’ve already taken supraphysiological dosages but now on trt I feel way better. More energy and less anxiety. Its not like “the more the better” and the physique is better less bloaty as well.
I am 40 now and was on TRT for about 3 years using it subcutaneous every 3 days ~100mg a week total. TRT not only turned my blood to Ragu, it made sleeping difficult, drastically increased my BP and made me mentally unstable. I did the blood dumps ever 9 or weeks or so to mitigate the blood thickening. I was taking Arimidex to lower the estrogen effects of exogenous testosterone. So I was checking all the safety boxes. My advice is be careful its not a cure all and I'd say its over prescribed. Your TRT range is highly subjective so if you don't have an 800 ng/dl or 600 ng/dl Test level thats okay. Do your research and be careful from the TRT clinics they are cash machines for doctors. 💯💯
That's over 200 mg a week which was probably too much. I was on 100-125 mg a week and felt awesome. Great libido, energy and sleep. Now I'm on 12.5 mg of clomid.
The most important thing that people need to understand, particularly young people, is that if you don't have the genetic makeup to be a champion body builder, then all the steroids in the world won't help you. It takes a 1 in a million type of person to have the genetic potential of a Ronnie Coleman or a Chris Bumstead, and if you're reading this, chances are it ain't you. So don't even bother with steroids.
Im almost 50 genetics and your work life balance and muscle memory and metabolism is what are the key things.wrk stress is the worst its debilitating if can effect sleep, sex life , eating , I still keep very lean, cut sugars away , haven't been in gym since 2020 I'm more outdoor with rubber bands and improvise I will say the gym will produce better results and keep a a strict diet sure my energy isnt as great but not "physically depressed" thats all screwed up especially at 40 ! I peaked at 42! Rrrriped
Elite genetics usually become apparent within a year of training, maybe 2 at most. I've seen many of those types over the years and within 2 years they already look better than everyone else in the gym, even guys who have been training for 20 years or more.
Chris is an all around champion! I’m a bodybuilder fanatic, and he is so right. If your schedule isn’t perfect, nutrition, recovery, workout plan, your PED regiment will not be perfect and you’ll fail. For Males, wait until your thirty to make that decision
8:51 so true I’ve been training years and since I qualified as a Personal trainer and nutritionist and learn how hard to train and always leave plenty rest im getting more gains in 3 months than the last 3 years
It took me until I was 24 to be able to hit 170lbs and have 8% BF. Started lifting st 140lbs at 21 and 3 years of a solid diet and grinding took me that long.
As a 47-year-old woman, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has significantly restored my vitality and overall well-being, including my drive and motivation. Previously, I was prescribed various medications for anxiety, hypertension, depression, and weight management, all of which proved ineffective. In my frustration, I decided to educate myself extensively on the subject of hormones. The results were nothing short of transformative, akin to winning a substantial prize. I am now free of all medications, my weight is returning to levels reminiscent of my teenage years, and I am flourishing. HRT can be remarkably beneficial for women over the age of 35. It is advisable to have your hormone levels assessed, and for younger women, establishing a hormonal baseline can be invaluable for future health. 💪🏼💖
TRT is not steroids... it just puts you back in a normal T range. My levels dipped in my late 30's... 46 now & not a single side effect, but I'm on a very low dose. My doctor has me on HCG & an anti-estrogen to balance everything out.
Instead of taking the easy way out with steroids why not pick yourself up by the bootstraps and work hard in the gym and work on your body the old fashioned way like a true conservative and say no to steroids or other performance enhancing drugs
I remember when I was in my early twenties and working out at this health club and there was this one guy who was in college also working out there. You knew right away he was on steroids because it looked like his body was carved out of stone. About a year later I didn't see him at the gym for a while and I found out that he had a heart attack and died. I also heard that he told his friends that if he died he wanted to die big. So young to lose your life to steriods.
Trained super hard in the 80s. Lots of juicers at the gyms, and I watched a dozen die over the years. Terrible cost to be the biggest guy at the beach.
I was feeling tired after those vaxxes for 18 months and had my test checked, and my doc said I was on the lower end and I asked about trt and he didn’t recommend it however he is a general practitioner and I trust him. Though I’m still curious. But I’m not tired anymore after I bought a sauna.
Most PCM’s try to stay clear. They believe it’s you mentally or it’s part of aging. Some believe you want it cause you heard about it. Go to a specialist and get your T checked.
I am 76 now started at 14. 62 years of training. My goal has always been to be fit and maintain an ideal body weight. I weighed 149 when I got out of the Army at age 20 and my weight now is 148. Never did steroids but have been on 100mg/wk of Testosterone for a couple of years. 200 was to high for me. I did try Anavar a few years ago for 2 months. Loved it haha. But don't know where to get anymore or I would try it again. I think its ok for someone my age. Fighting sarcopenia at my age is difficult even with weight training.
Right now I don't have any testosterone on my body, none. Have tumor on my brain that's turning me into a very old man and I'm fighting to get this surgery.
Just turned 43 . 4 months ago my blood work showed I was insulin resistant, pre-diabetic and BMI in the obese range. Dietitian recommended low carb, high protein diet, intermittent fasting and more exercise. I've lost over 25lbs since then with simple diet changes and exercise Just ran an easy 5 miles yesterday. Could barely run 3 4 months ago. I don't know what my testosterone levels are or were. Don't care. For the last few years I have always felt lethargic in the evening after work passing out in the couch then eating a lot of junk food late at night. I never veered into the "are my testosterone levels good" reasoning because I knew my health was the result of years of eating crap, drinking, not working out + genetics towards diabetes so I changed my lifestyle. Add the changing of the season from winter to early spring and it's made a world of difference in my energy level, motivation and gains. I eat mostly whole food now eggs, seafood like swordfish and salmonz some red meat, chicken thighs. I've started consuming olive oil almost daily and no longer use margarine or butter but instead olive.or avocado oil only to cook. I've only drank twice in 4 months and that was just on Thanksgiving and Christmas eve. I don't even crave it anymore. It's weird. I started out 251lbs down to 224 and the goal is to be at 180lbs by January 2025. Chris is right about diet being the most important change.
It’s far more detrimental to have low test levels then it is to take a high trt dose. I consider 200mg/wk being a high trt dose. At that dose you will test on average of 1200ng/dl which is high. I take 100mg/wk in divided doses to keep my levels more even. At 100mg/wk I testers 550-600 which is plenty. I didn’t have a choice to get on it, I had an injury that caused my test levels to be 89ng/dl. This was 2 yrs after the injury so there was no coming back naturally.
I hear peptides are the safer way to go, but both my family doctor and urologist only know that there are still initial trials going on with peptides. As for steroids, they both recommended to pursue HRT if I was needing it; instead of steroids because of the side effects.
Peptides (and Sarms) when compared to gear are likely the equivalent of what vape products are to tobbaco... The general consensus is that they are probably safer but I guess no one will really know until several years down the line when it comes out in the wash. I guess the consolation with gear is that its been around (and used in sports) for decades so there is a wealth of information about negative side effects and potential mitigation strategies widely available to all. (Providing the right research is done before hand 😊) You at least have an idea of what you might be getting into with gear.
Taking steriods is a different game all together honestly, even people who take steriods for a serious job like bodybuilders or actors take for transformation, they have people surrounding them who will take care of even the small things, they get themselves checked every week and accordingly change things
I was 38 years old when i started TRT. i am now 44 uears years old. First few years i trained my ass off. Lost weight and built muscle. You have to still do the work to get the results. Nowadays i maintain a low dose and workout occasionally. For me it has been a greay journey.
@@KateWandlessno it’s not IMO. Been training for 19 years. Pist I didn’t get on a decade ago. It’s an amazing drug. Starting PEDs at 39 is probably the better choice. I stayed natty for 19 yrs. Genetics and slow gains were tough to deal with. Despite food technique etc. The gear really took it to the next level with recovery and strength. I don’t have that deflated feeling when natty
Got off trt, was on for 5 years, tired of the weekly shots, blood donations every 8 weeks, etc. i recovered using some hcg and aromasin. Trt is like doing a mild cycle
NOBODY says that either… that’s so frightening when you said “tired of the weekly shots, blood donations every 8 weeks”. That’s your future when you get on that stuff and nobody mentions that 🤣
I've been on TRT for a year now. Before I started I couldn't perform in the bedroom and I was really lethargic and depressed. My female GP Dr was useless. I reached out to a local anti-aging clinic to try some peptides aimed at sexual performance and the Dr there said he wanted to run blood tests because he suspected my Testosterone was the culprit. The rest is history. My GP still shakes her finger at me being on TRT, saying I'll have heart issues, etc. All I know is that the results are great for me.

Mad respect to Chris. Even with gear, his work ethic is second to none.

I think you're right

Spot on
once you have the muscle mass, one can workout like 1-2x a week and maintain it relatively simply!
I'm on clomid, 12.5 mg a day and it works well. Before that, I was on 125 mg of test a week but with clomid, I have fewer side effects and I don't have to inject.
Clomid huh? Imma research that
Chlomid doesn’t actually do anything for test levels besides test results
@@Stierenkloot I've heard that theory before. Luckily I've used both testosterone (for over 5 years) and clomid so I can make a good comparison. Clomid definitely boosts my libido and energy without raising my blood pressure and hematocrit. Clomid also boosts spermcount, while exogenous testosterone lowers it. Not saying it's for everyone but it could be a viable alternative for testosterone. There are several articles online about this issue.
Clomid long term is bad for your eyesight, take care test is much safer

I am 57 years old, work out 3 times a week, walk 40 minutes daily, eat 5 times a week in-house cooked food, read meat 2 times a week, I am 6”1 weight 197 lbs. I don’t feel the need to take steroids or TRT, my wife is 18 years younger than me. If I go over 205 lbs and I don’t sleep well because of stress, my energy, most likely, my testosterone goes down.
How did u get a wife 18 yrs younger that’s Leonardo di caprio levels
You eat 5 times a week in house cooked food? Can you elaborate on that a bit
Yo también tengo 57 y entreno todas las semanas. Vitaminas y Omega3. No tengo problemas de libido ni de fuerza, y mi mente está clara. No estoy en TRT
TRT is amazing. But if the supply runs out. It’ll be bad bad news
That’s why I’m reluctant to go back on, it’s for life when you start
35 here, been active/working out since 15. 180lbs 6 feet tall. Started at 230lbs then when i hit 22, i dropped to 180 and been that way ever since. No drugs/peds/trt, it can be done if you put in the work and adapt a healthy lifestyle.
PBD tryna get on that cycle 😂
TRT when used properly can treat PTSD better than damn near anything
I'm starting next week, I hope it helps with mine
Agree
I'm 55, just started trt a month ago. Why? I had a 150 level. I exercise physically at work, i don't drink, smoke or do any drugs. Eat extremely healthy, no corn syrup, no fast food. No soy. Mostly ribeye n tritip, burgers chicken. Vitamins and various supplements. Seems to be helping already. Fingers crossed. I definitely need a lot more understanding. Couldn't figure out why I was so tired and not growing physically.
I am 60 and starting to feel the same way. I still work out fairly hard but only
Like 3 to four times a week plus swimming and walking and super clean diet. I just don’t make any gains anymore and really having a hard time losing my stomach fat. I am thinking I need to get tested as well. But I’m afraid to start for two reasons, one is we want to have a child, wife is 32 and the second is the fear of cancer and this has been fairly well documented
Damn. 150 is extremely low. TRT will definitely help and change your life.
Endocrine disruptors plastics, polyesters flouride
When you start TRT you better never go broke. Your body can and will stop making natural testosterone at all.
Yup

I’m on Masteron, 500mg of Test C a week, tren, deca and primo and it’s great. My pickleball performance has never been better.
I'm 32, and I've been on track for a little over a year now. I'm NEVER coming off. It is amazing.
I'm doing trt and it changed me life. Talk to a doctor who specializes in trt don't listen to people online
yeah people are crazy

I’d rather just not mess with my hormones.
Cope
Rumors are that it causes cancer
False. TRT is testosterone which is a steroid.
Same here. Been on TRT for years because my natural test was almost non existent.
Instead of taking the easy way out with steroids why not pick yourself up by the bootstraps and work hard in the gym and work on your body the old fashioned way like a true conservative and say no to steroids or other performance enhancing drugs
And dont compete
I remember when I was in my early twenties and working out at this health club and there was this one guy who was in college also working out there. You knew right away he was on steroids because it looked like his body was carved out of stone. About a year later I didn't see him at the gym for a while and I found out that he had a heart attack and died. I also heard that he told his friends that if he died he wanted to die big. So young to lose your life to steriods.
Trained super hard in the 80s. Lots of juicers at the gyms, and I watched a dozen die over the years. Terrible cost to be the biggest guy at the beach.
Chris is such a classy, great dude, hes an amazing ambassador for bodybuilding.

"Hardcore means it's probably harder on the body" what a scholar lol
Mad respect for the honesty, doesn't take any shine away from him and he's doing right by this generation of men!
Taking steriods is a different game all together honestly, even people who take steriods for a serious job like bodybuilders or actors take for transformation, they have people surrounding them who will take care of even the small things, they get themselves checked every week and accordingly change things
