Hello all - just a quick note to say that in my infinite youtube professionalism.... i have forgotten to add the opening and ending bits of the video before upload! So it's a bit of an abrupt start this week!! Sorry!! xx
I do enjoy your 'intros and outros' but c'est la vie that you missed them! Bigger question is the bottle of Roundup I spotted behind you! Can you please cover how and when you use it? I have realized that glyphosate is the only way I'll conquer the onion weed and nutgrass in my veggie patch, as well as killing off any invading grass runners without digging them up in my transitioning to no-dig beds, but I'm still on a steep learning curve, so your advice would be greatly appreciated! And thanks for your videos - I just love them! Cheers from Australia!
The sun, slowly sinking into the sea, made me remember the aeroplanes flying into the setting sun when I lived in Richmond, 40 years ago. They were 1 a minute then, how you manage to slot your pieces to camera between them is amazing, congratulations. 👏🥂
Hi Jessie, just wanted you to know that I adore your videos! You have to be one of the very few that actually 'works' on their garden. Most TH-camrs just sit in front of the camera and claim to have done this or that. But I don't believe them. I think they have people come in and do most of the work, then they give a garden tour. You inspire me to get out and JUST DO IT! I had a knee replacement in February and didn't think I was going to be able to do much but after looking at my pictures, I've done more this year than in other years. Guess I was escaping my pain because as soon as I step outside, it all goes away. I get so jealous of your mom everytime she stoops down; my knees hardly bend. I'm 66 and you make me feel young. As far as your cilantro goes, they do not like much heat. I grew some the end of last year and they grew quite well through the cold and the snow. I'm in zone 6b/7a in New Jersey, USA. If you plant those starts, you're going to have cilantro growing out of your ears! 😂 Let some go to seed in the summer and harvest the seeds to plant next fall. They will acclimatize to your area. And use some for coriander seasoning. Please keep on building and improving on your plot and show every detail, even if it is in double speed. Not boring in the least.
Love your channel. Love your sense of humour, the way you show how your growing things and what I find really useful and interesting is how you show what you do with your produce! Thank you!
Yep you're right about the grass. If the paths are looking good it makes everything else look better, but It's not one of my favourite jobs. Lovely to see eggs arriving. The girlies are beautiful. Hope your Mum's hip & your foot gets better soon,. Really love your vlogs!
Wow.....coriander envy‼️💜 also neat path envy .......haven’t been able to keep mine very tidy, coz we have LOADS of frogs!!!! Can’t bare the thoughts of chopping them up 🙈🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸 The girlies look really well 😁....cheers Jessie, have a great week x🥂
Another great Vlog Jess. Congratulations on 80! Nice of your neighbor to gift you a few plants, always exciting. Congrats on two eggs! Had a good laugh at the Benny Hill style mowing. Bet you’re glad that’s off your to do list. The bean dish looked tasty. You and mum heal up and I’ll see you next week for front yard gardening. 🙂🌸🌺🍃🍂🍁
Happy 80th my dear! 🎉 Girlies seem to have settled in fine, not shy anymore at all! What's the final pecking order? Oh, and you still haven't sorted the saved seed... says the blackboard 😉
Jess I'm sorry I haven't been watching you lately but I am going through surgeries and I haven't been watching much of anything. But I was really glad to see your beautiful self again. I am on the mends for now but I have a couple of months to rest before my next surgery. God Bless you and your mother it has made my day to watch you again.
Hiya Jessie Thankyou for sharing today’s video. You are our favourite Garden Gnome! Lol congratulations on vlog 80! yay for a holiday! Lol 37:30 I think great chick impression! Allotment looking great. Nice to meet Naughty George lol just kidding. You have to put on the blackboard, the larger sifter to build? To fit over wheelbarrow. Well done Muma re coriander. Oh glad to hear that we are all interested in front garden. Looking forward to seeing. Aww I do hope whatever is going on with your feet will be resolved sooner than later. Slainte Luv Ontario Canada🐝
Just found you thanks to Eli and Kate's site. Great videos with loads of good info. Lived most of my life in Richmond, last 4 years in Scotland where gardening is VERY different...
Congratulations on 80! That's some dedication. My Garlic and Field Beans are in and up and also this week I used my glut of left over tomatoes to make tomato and chilli jam....although it's more like a chutney....and it is the best thing I've made in a jar!....Oh my gosh!!
Brilliant blog again!!! My garlic is just beginning to pop up I’m so chuffed!! And congratulations on 15k it’s so deserved you’re amazing it should be double that!! 💚💚
Dont give up on your melons! This happened to me last year. Cut them and ripen in warm room. After a couple of weeks the began to smell super sweet. Didn't look ripe but tasted divine. Micro melons, who knew!
Eggciting news! Ha But it is lovely the ladies are producing already. I agree with pushing the limits on plant spacing. I know you need a certain amount for many reasons but with short growing season here I’m trying to jam as much in as I can! Cheers! 🥂
Astonishing growth on the butternuts for so late in the year. Mine took months to get to that stage......all plants sadly gone now. However, the tromboncino in the polytunnel that is about 25 foot long still marches on and is still having babes.
Ohhh, I have black fly on my plants and about one or two weeks ago there was so much white fly around I was walking through them whilst collecting my child from nursary. What a year.
The cosmos look beautiful. I always remember my trip to South Africa in their autumn, it was such a surprise to find out that cosmos is considered a weed there. As far as the eye can see, fields along the road side was self seeded cosmos. I'm sure if you googled 'cosmos south Africa' there would be images. It was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. Seas of cosmos.
I well may be wrong but I think you call it storing them Demi sec when freezing fresh beans or partially dried ones. I have lots of massive rubber beans left so i think I will have to harvest and experiment with them. That bean dish looked fab, thinking it could be done in a slow cooker for ease. ? Hmmm keep safe xx
Well done on plantint the broad beans closer. I got 4_sowing s for the first time and the last harves is now coming from close sown in troughs. I am so surprised and chuffed.
I love to cook my Giganties in a fasolada, yum yum.. 😋 If my Giganties are not quite dry I just pod them and place on a tea towel for about a week then freeze.. Or i part cook the fresh ones for about a minute then let them cool off and freeze.. 😊
Congrats on the eggs. I planted a packet of (500) field beans too, and they've all come up in 2 weeks. Also got several tree cabbages to keep me going over winter and planted some Spring cabbage in my greenhouse Thanks again for encouraging us to keep at it through the whole year.
Your plot looks like a magical place! I would be in it all the time. I garden on my land which isn’t much but I do it as much as I can and I’ve added some new shade and sun flower beds up front and my boyfriend is going to make me some wooden boxes to grow veg in next year. Our land is sloped in the back but I have one flat area a huge double Decker back deck so I grew a ton of veg and flowers on my deck and it was a magical jungle. I can watch gardening videos all day long.
Hi Jessie. Loving your latest video. The coriander looks wonderful. Are you going to dry it and if so can you show us how to dry herbs? . Blessings Gail.
Lovely vlog Jessie. I got my softneck garlic in last week, still waiting for the hardneck to come through the post. Well done on growing coriander, mine is always spindly. Cant wait to go on holiday with everyone on here!! ! I think when you reach 100 vlogs we should have a party in the shed hahaha. Have a very happy week. x
Morning ladies hope your all doing well. Yep squirrels pulled up some of my broad beans but I over planted so it’s ok. 3 squash wow your lucky 😂😂 mine were invisible this year. It’s been crap weather lately it was 3c last night 🥶🥶. Sunny today but only 9c. Darn slugs 🐌 although I must say since it was so roasting hot this year we didn’t have our normal huge amount of them and early in the year I did early morning slug hunts 🤢. I was that way with my carrots this year it’s first time in a long time I got an excellent harvest. Well I’ll stop prattling on and simply say thanks for sharing 🥰🇨🇦🐝 safe
Another great vlog ❤ btw, loved the little fashion show Jesse, you're too cute . Your girlies are so beautiful. It would be hard for me to leave the plot, I'd want to live there lol
Hi me and my friend have just got our first allotment. We have watched all ur videos and just want to say ty for your advice and guidance. By the way we love the wine lol
My broad beans had been fab so tall, healthy full of beans, nibbled ? Mice, then gales hit them, a week ago they were going black full of flowers and beans but the stems so mottled and yuk, I chopped the one section down left the other later autumn sown and now they are doing the same. So having suffered late winter weather and I assume some mice eating beans, I think time to say dig them all up. Shocking spring so not sure if I will plant any. Oh for sun Jess
Those green lettuces you take the outer leaves from? Would they be lobjoits!? If so, please say the word lobjoits for us.....very satisfying in my experience!
I have had cinnamon in a tomato sauce with pasta before and it is fabulous. You don't know what it is at first, but you like it! I still have a lot of Brad's Atomic tomatoes that never ripened, so I plan on adding them to a green salsa I'm making with my other green tomatoes. (Instead of tomatillos) Also grew habanada peppers that never turned orange. Are they still edible? They are all yellow still. Love your vlog Jessie. Cheers!
Hi Jess love your videos could you please say which month they are I can’t always tell by the trees et cetera and I don’t seem to get my videos in order and I don’t know why so if you could say it’s beginning of March or it’s the end of February or whatever that would be appreciated thanks so much Jess by
Hi Jessie! My mom and I love watching your videos and we haven't ever seen such a pretty bean at 17:23! What kind of beans are they? We would love to grow them ourselves if you could possibly let us know what they are :D
How did you get on with drying your Gigantes in the dryer, Jessie? I tried it a while ago as I had so many undried but it was a bit of a disaster as they started to split. Luckily I checked after an hour a noticed what was happening, so didn't lose them all. I'd be interested to hear how you got on...
Hi Jess been meaning to ask if the kitty is yours or if it’s like the allotment cat for everyone and who feeds sweet girl? Does she have winter shelter. Boy do I sound like a mom lol well I am. You didn’t do too bad with squash this year I’m in the states and we had a awful year too hot and wet and everything got mold and disease so hoping for better next season and I may try and grow up a trellis like you did. My backyard is sloped so it may be tricky to figure it out. Maybe will have to put the man to work.
I'm in the US and am wondering what your winter weather is like. Are you able to grow through the winter? Obviously, you just planted broad beans. Do you get snow? Just curious. Thanks for always posting these. You make me want to be a better gardener and possibly a "girlie" owner.
I planted cosmos very late so they’re just about flowering and we’re not really out to enjoy them as the weather is grim. What are you doing with the lemon chillis? I got a bit carried away so ended up with quite a few. Made a sauce and have dried a bunch then got stuck.
Hi Jesse. Can you forward the email address of the people who make those beautiful brownies please. My friend lives in London so I would like to send her a box. TIA

Lol, we don't care xxxx
I do enjoy your 'intros and outros' but c'est la vie that you missed them! Bigger question is the bottle of Roundup I spotted behind you! Can you please cover how and when you use it? I have realized that glyphosate is the only way I'll conquer the onion weed and nutgrass in my veggie patch, as well as killing off any invading grass runners without digging them up in my transitioning to no-dig beds, but I'm still on a steep learning curve, so your advice would be greatly appreciated! And thanks for your videos - I just love them! Cheers from Australia!
It is because you are so genuine that you are amazing Jessie. Keep on keeping on.
.009.
So enjoyed the vlog - no problem.

Black Zulu pepper is gorgeous!
Great video! George is growing some amazing beans. Lol
Hope your feet are on the mend
Congrats on the egg laying. It has bee quite mild. Often our girls laid eggs until it got to freezing. Those first little ones are so precious.
Hi Jessie, Loved your exotic language at the ending of your video. 😁 HaHa. I would also like to know what George's gorgeous blue bean was.
Hiya Jessie Thankyou for sharing today’s video. You are our favourite Garden Gnome! Lol congratulations on vlog 80! yay for a holiday! Lol 37:30 I think great chick impression! Have you let the girlie whirlies out for an explore around the plot yet?
Dont give up on your melons! This happened to me last year. Cut them and ripen in warm room. After a couple of weeks the began to smell super sweet. Didn't look ripe but tasted divine. Micro melons, who knew!
Hi Jess, your garlic is looking good 🙂 coriander is good too 🙂 your girlies are gorgeous ❤ nice little harvest off George too, take care
Here in Canada we can get knee pads very similar to yours at Lee Valley. I've been using them for years and love them.
Eggciting news! Ha But it is lovely the ladies are producing already.
I agree with pushing the limits on plant spacing. I know you need a certain amount for many reasons but with short growing season here I’m trying to jam as much in as I can!

Wow that's fast for garlic. Mine usually takes loads longer.
Ohhh, I have black fly on my plants and about one or two weeks ago there was so much white fly around I was walking through them whilst collecting my child from nursary. What a year.

Seems to be shaping up for a couple months of bad sleding for winter here.

I tried your bean recipe only using my borlotti beans it tastes amazing, thanks

Lovely video Jessie the plot looks so nice ,my garden is covered in sycamore leaves annoying but great leaf mould for mulching.
Hi Jessie.

Hey Jess, would you and Mum like some Queensland blue Pumpkin seeds ? Great vlog as always. :)
I would love a tour of some of the other plots in your neighborhood, if they are up to it!
I am having zero, zilch, nada, no luck at all with my first attempt with broad beans. Hmmm…
Morning ladies hope your all doing well. Yep squirrels pulled up some of my broad beans but I over planted so it’s ok. 3 squash wow your lucky 😂😂 mine were invisible this year. I was really interested to watch your Gigantes recipe, I am going to grow some next year so recipes always handy, cinnamon and mint… who knew?!😳
Another great vlog ❤ btw, loved the little fashion show Jesse, you're too cute . Your girlies are so beautiful. It would be hard for me to leave the plot, I'd want to live there lol
Jessie congrats on reaching 15k subscribers and the big number EIGHT ZERO vlog.
I had 1 crown prince this year but the mashed potato squash did well. The are delicious roasted and good substitute for actual mash x
Hi Jessie I am always watching your video and enjoying your blog all the time.. I like your seed drawer where did you get it? Emily
Hi me and my friend have just got our first allotment. We have watched all ur videos and just want to say ty for your advice and guidance. By the way we love the wine lol
Same problems with my melons this year. They are heavy feeders and vulnerable to fungal diseases
Cheers (mine was a red) you tube is still not letting me know when you post a video
I just did a recipe where I used lovage instead of coriander. Think I will try coriander next year.
Why not use your drying machine thingy for drying the beans?
My broad beans had been fab so tall, healthy full of beans, nibbled ? Mice, then gales hit them, a week ago they were going black full of flowers and beans but the stems so mottled and yuk, I chopped the one section down left the other later autumn sown and now they are doing the same. So having suffered late winter weather and I assume some mice eating beans, I think time to say dig them all up. Shocking spring so not sure if I will plant any. Oh for sun Jess
Enjoy the cooking bit look yummy nice mowing job girly coming on lovely can I ask who looks after cat feeding wise even health wise x
Is that blue or grey eyes.. u looks amazing beautiful.. fan from india.
Cheers!
Are you trying to be the next Keith Floyd? 🤣🍷🍷🍷🍷
Where did you get the blackboard from? Looks fab! Would love one for my shed :)
My guess is 'Cherokee Trail of Tears', but only George can confirm/correct it.
Just wondering if you got any mulberries from the tree this year??
Loved the cooking part again. What is that 1st tune called? I recognise it but cannot for the life of me put my finger on it...help 😊😁
Hi, can you tell me what model your push mower is please. It's just what I'm looking for. Thanks 😊👍
Hi. Where did you get that tomato skinner thingy. Stu.
Hello prettz lady.
How old are your little girlies now?
I'm in the US and am wondering what your winter weather is like. Are you able to grow through the winter? Obviously, you just planted broad beans. Do you get snow? Just curious. Thanks for always posting these. You make me want to be a better gardener and possibly a "girlie" owner.
I planted cosmos very late so they’re just about flowering and we’re not really out to enjoy them as the weather is grim.
What are you doing with the lemon chillis? I got a bit carried away so ended up with quite a few. Made a sauce and have dried a bunch then got stuck.
Would definitely recommend against prepping the lemon chillis and then doing contact lenses. Ow.
😊✅💐👌😉
Hi Jesse. Can you forward the email address of the people who make those beautiful brownies please. My friend lives in London so I would like to send her a box. TIA
Hi Marion, they are called 'Blushing Cook'. You'll find all the information on their website.
YEA Thank you very much. love, love, love following you and Mum.
I have managed to get quite a few of your recommended seeds for next year.
Living in Northern Ireland its been tricky as seeds are not being posted from the mainland.
Looking forward to 2022
