- The parts have finally arrived for this ultimate fast road REDTOP Nova build. In this video I build the bottom end up with steel conrods, arp rod bolts and omega high compression pistons. This is going to be a very special car once done!
Great content. Didn’t realise how simple the bottom end of these engines are. I feel like buying one and rebuilding it. If only I had something to put it in .
Thank you, yeah there isn't a lot too them really 😊
Great video!
Thank you 😊
Great video
Thank you 😊
Thank you very much for this video
No worries at all 🙂
Brilliant - Just brilliant!
Glad you like 😄
Fantastic video Dan. Really enjoyed watching this after spending all evening in the garage doing my 1.6 engine(s) 😂
Thanks pal! Gutted for you about that. Hopefully this one will be the one though 😊
Brilliant video again mate, looking forward to the next 1! Any chance you could do a build price on the next video?
Thank you, yeah I will do it in a future video. It won't be the next one though as it's already filmed 😉
Double check the torque on the con rod bolts. 25ftlb is for 5/16" bolts. Those con rods use 3/8" which should be torqued to 45ftlb.
Thank you, just whipped the sump back off and retorqued. 🙂
Awesome video mate. Its gona be a cracking engine. I.v got an old c20xe in the shed. But unsure weather to go with that or a z20leh for mine.
Thank you, yeah really looking forward to hearing it!
Both are great motors, but I would probably stick with an old school XE. Although turbo power is definitely addictive!
Hi Dan, Great video series. To minimise the risk of an oil leak....... is it ok to use a sealant instead of the lube, on the metal oil pump gasket?
Thanks, I can't see why not providing it's done sparingly.
Think you're Audi shrunk in the wash 😂
Haha
Mega mate , is it worth a gte turbo vs this build in a video at a drag strip , make cracking tv
Thanks. Yeah that would be really cool, can't wait to get yours on the dyno and see what she does. 😊
Why don't you use an oil cooler?
Just don't want to, need too for three set up. Lots of people don't an have no problems.
Love watching your content.
Thank you, that means a lot 😊
hy why didn't you use the naylon realife valve from sbd on the oil pump?
Personal preference is the original is fine for the application. That's why I inspected it.
