I highly recommend people to read the manga iteration of this fight. Not saying the animators did a terrible job but the manga iteration of this fight IMO feels more epic than the animated version. Also some parts just didn't get the justice they deserved. For example, Yujiro in the manga gets visibly angry when he sees his father and shouts at him. However, in the anime he just sounds confused/shocked. It just doesn't do Yuichiro the justice he deserved as not only does he in the manga make even Yujiro get worked up just from his presence alone, but it also shows how much Yujiro hated his father and paralleled Baki's hatred for his own father. Still, very impressed by the animators this season and I appreciate their hard work.
Well, I've read the manga version already, and I must say that the animators put in some effort with the animations. They even managed to remaster the scenes from the first round of Baki's fight against his father Yujiro, considering there was a different animation style back in the times when it was animated, which was in 2001, literally. It seems like it was remastered, but it truly was the best fight.
Then punching each other smiling was my favourite moment. Showing that Baki is truly his fathers son and he’s just as maniacal as his father. Baki is still only 18 yet he’s going toe to toe with his dad who’s freakishly stronger than everyone else except Baki. As soon as Baki reaches his 20s, I think we’ll see him surpass his father.
9:27 Feeling the unfiltered RAGE from the many years Baki had to deal with the death of his mother! Yujiro has a striking heart attack seizure combination before Baki’s very eyes! The seizure itself so violent Baki completely freezes in place, unable to react to his father’s body convulsing in such a violent way 😂😂
At the end of the series Baki will destroy Yujiro. But his life motivation is wrong. When he gets his own son, he is going to surpass Yujiro quickly, because Yujiro is the strongesr still because of Baki, because Baki still doesnt believe in himself. This whole anime is about transfer of power. Yuichiro said it to Baki, and he ment it, that he can beat Yujiro. Baki wants to get stronger than his father, because he cant imagine himself being the strongest yet. That is the final lesson for him to learn. He will, but ne needs higher motivation than surpassing Yujiro, which is the most difficult thing to achieve in Bakiverse, believing you can surpass the Ogre.
Yujiro is a plot device to make Baki stronger. Every anime has one. This anime is specific because we were introduced with the goal Baki has to reach at the start of the anime, while in some other anime, these measuring sticks change over time. In Baki it's constant, one guy named Yujiro surpasses him, and its game over.

As someone who has finished 2 times, I would like to say that yujiro could have fought for a longer period of time, a creature with enough strength and energy for that. It saddened me to see baki lose, but you can see how big the difference in education, experience and strength between yujiro and baki is at first. His father said he was the strongest, even though he won, but he deserves it. Congratulations studio, did a great job

I've been waiting for this since 2010. I first got into the baki series at age 15. I remember running laps around the school one day to try and unlock "endorphins". Finally got to see a fight I've been waiting for for 13 years
THIS FIGHT !! Its gorgeous , it blessed my eyes and motivated it a lot....there is a lot of emotion in this and not only this fight but all fight in the series starting from baki when he was little . Man one day i will make my kid watch this 😮😮
